“Ynes was fantastic! She completed three drop-ins per day over three days and was consistently on time for every visit. She handled my senior dog, Dutchess, with great care and attention, which gave me real peace of mind. What I appreciated most was her communication… she sent multiple pictures daily and kept me updated every step of the way, making me feel completely comfortable while I was away. It’s clear she genuinely cares about the pets she looks after. I would absolutely use Ynes’s services again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter!”

“Darius has been a wonderful addition to our pups routine. From the beginning, he’s always been very communicative and caring. We love ALL his photos and videos of his visits. We have already recommended him to good friends.”

“Emma was very helpful and accommodating in checking on my cat while I was traveling, even as he tried to play more with her hand than his toys ??♂️ She was great and would recommend to anyone on Rover!”

“Christina takes such great care of our kitties (all 5 of them!) Having her visit while we are away truly puts our minds at ease. Our favorite part of the day is looking at the pictures of our furbabies that Christina sends to us each visit!”

“Filipa was thorough and excellent with our cats! Sent daily updates and videos after drop in visits, was flexible when we needed to add an extra day, and overall was one of the best Rover pet sitters we have had. It’s always nice to know your pets are being well cared for, and I appreciate Filipa’s attentiveness. Thank you!!”

“Lovely photos that helped deal with the distance from my pets. Nothing better than not being anxious about my cats’ wellbeing while out of town because Jay did such a good job of the photos and keeping me updated and her enthusiasm for my girls helped settle my mind a lot.”

“I’d highly recommend Esmeralda for your pet care! She was super friendly, patient and loving with my fur baby, and was a great communicator. Also, she’ll capture great pics of your pet so you know they’re fully cared for and loved.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Houston
Dara provided excellent care for my senior cat. Dara showed up on time every day, played a little with my cat, and made sure her food and water were well supplied. She also sent great pics, so I knew my cat was in good hands while I was away. Her communication was great, and I would not hesitate to use here again when I must leave town.
Hannah was so great watching our cat, Bubbies! She was great at communicating how he was doing each day and sharing pictures. Our cat had some recent health scares so I was nervous to leave him but Hannah total set me at ease. Definitely would rebook with Hannah!

Gabby was a semi-last minute booking and she really pulled through and showed up. She kept my two cats happy and socialized. Gabby went the extra mile returning keys and communicated openly. I would recommend her service if you want someone friendly, willing, and flexible.

I could not have been happier to have faith watch my two cats when i was out of town!! I reached out on only a few days notice and she responded immediately and was so friendly and eager to help. Super easy to schedule the meet and greet and shes a genuinely lovely person who clearly loves animals! She was amazing at responding to me, sending me pics of my boys, and most importantly just doing everything she could to make sure they were looked after when i was gone. Great experience and i will definitely be reaching back out. Thanks faith!!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Houston. On Rover:

- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
