Book with Rover to Donate to a Local Nonprofit
Sit a Dog, Save a Life lets you raise money for local dogs-in-need by doing something you do already: asking your neighbors to watch your dog instead of leaving them in a kennel. Many Rover sitters in Houston donate a percentage of their earnings to nonprofits through Sit a Dog, Save a Life. When you book with a sitter who has the Rover Donation Badge on their profile, you're helping dogs in need, right here in Houston.
DREAM Dachshund Rescue
DREAM Dachshund Rescue, Education & Adoption Mission is a Houston-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing abandoned Dachshunds and finding new homes for Dachshunds whose owners can no longer care for them.
Their committed volunteers, working closely with local veterinarians, provide their Dachshunds with quality medical care and loving foster homes until they are adopted into carefully screened, permanent homes.
They also serve as a resource to their community, providing information on responsible pet ownership, the importance of spay/neuter, annual vaccinations, heartworm prevention, positive behavior training, exercise, and good nutrition.
Houston Area Doberman Rescue
The Houston Area Doberman Rescue, Inc. (HADR) is a 501c3 nonprofit corporation and has no paid employees. Their mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and place Doberman Pinschers in responsible and caring homes in addition to providing a resource for public education on the breed and responsible dog ownership.
They serve as advocates for Doberman Pinschers who have become lost, abandoned, or abused. They vaccinate, microchip, spay/neuter, and treat heartworms before the dogs are placed in new homes. Only dogs of stable temperament and reasonable health are placed through their program. They maintain vet records and keep the dogs current on a regimen of heartworm preventative while they are in our program. They look for the right home for each dog. Matches are made based upon the needs of the individual adoptive homes and the temperament of the dog.
Schnauzer Rescue of Texas
Schnauzer Rescue of Texas (SRT) was founded on the principle that responsible rescue, in the long-term, finds homes for the largest number of lost, neglected and abandoned Schnauzers. Their committed volunteers work cooperatively to maintain a foster family network where these Schnauzers learn what it means to have a dog’s life; what it means to ‘own’ a family; and what it means to live life with love. Their adopters are carefully screened and are chosen because they share our vision. In short, Schnauzer Rescue of Texas exists for the sole purpose of ensuring that the Schnauzers we assist make it to their forever, and perfect, home!
Tender Loving Crested Rescue
Tender Loving Crested Rescue (TLCR) is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of abused, abandoned and neglected Chinese Cresteds. They are currently a private family rescue, operating in the Houston, Texas area. They are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Any donations made to us are tax deductible. We are limited to just the Houston and surrounding areas at this time but will help with other areas any way we can!
Texas Humane Legislation Network
HLN is the voice at the Texas Legislature for untold numbers of animals throughout Texas who suffer horrific abuse and tragic neglect at the hands of callous humans.
