About: I have had cats and dogs all my life! Friends and family have relied on me to let sit, through college and childhood. Well versed with different breeds as well. I work remotely which is a huge plus for pet sitting. Please note, I will no longer be doing meet and greets with those that do not think they will need to book. I have held several appointments where customers change plans last minute, and I cannot flex my schedule to meet several times with no bookings especially if you have a friend or relative potentially taking care of pets. Thank you for respecting my time. I provide high quality service and enjoy what I do. I make sure I watch pets closely and provide them with the right care. If they have special diets or preferences, I can make the proper accommodations.

Our first time using Rover and gosh did we luck out! Brittaney was a fantastic sitter for our two kitties, it was clear right from the start that she was a great fit and she went above and beyond to look after Bellatrix and Albus, and kept us updated all the way to make sure we knew they were taken care of. Thanks again and we will definitely be booking again in the future!!

Noel was wonderful with our two senior pups who require a lot of attention and patience. Our oldest dog requires medication which is not always easy to administer, and Noel did great with her. At one point, our oldest dog wasn’t eating, and Noel made it a point to stop by and check in and spend time with her during the day to help with her anxiety. I would recommend Noel without hesitation.

About: I am a lifelong dog lover who understands firsthand that every pup has a unique personality, specific routines, and distinct emotional needs. I choose to do pet sitting because I genuinely love the company of dogs. Your pup won't just be 'looked after'—they will be fully integrated into a loving, structured week filled with attention, safety, and care. I prioritize physical exercise and mental stimulation. My daily routine includes morning and evening walks, which fits time in for your pups outdoor playful needs. I care for guest pets by treating them exactly like a member of my own family, ensuring my home feels just like theirs. Safety, comfort, and open communication are my highest priorities.

About: 🏡I live house with a fenced front yard in EaDo. 🫶🏼I’ve been a dog mom my entire adult life 16+yrs 🐾I have (3) babies of my own: Gia and Grizzly - littermates, and Blondie. 👱🏻‍♀️🐱 I’m roommates w my cousin Jackeline and her cat Stormy, so yes... cats are welcome here too! ◡̈ 🩵I'm an active foster for Heart of the Underdog, a Houston-based, no-kill rescue. I occasionally volunteer at the Houston Humane Society, and throughout college I spent weekends walking dogs for Friends for Life. Caring for animals has been a constant thread throughout my adult life, not an occasional thing. ☺️I'm the happiest version of myself when I'm surrounded by animals and helping them have a better quality of life. This isn't just a side gig for me, it's genuinely my happy place. 🏡🫶🏼🐾 I'm at home throughout the week and most weekends. Im a homebody which allows me to give real time and attention, (not just check-ins), to all the pets in my care. 🛋️ My own dogs free-roam at home, and yours can to, as needed and with safety in mind. 🐕‍🦺🐕🐩 Through my years of fostering, I’ve become experienced at managing a multi-dog household safely, including around food and toy guarding situations. I've worked with reactive dogs, puppies, and pregnant mamas...and I've even delivered a litter of puppies in my home. I've also done hands-on training and confidence-building work with fosters who needed extra patience and support. I'm very tuned in to dog body language and behavior. I pay attention to what a dog is telling me, and I adjust my approach based on what they actually need. My own pups range from 60–90 lbs, so small and large breeds are welcome here.

Beth was the sweetest! She checked in on our pups twice while we were out. It was storming so the poor babies were scared and peed in the house. Thank you Beth for cleaning up and taking care of them! She sent plenty of pictures, took them on a walk for potty time, and fed them dinner. Thank you Beth for taking care of our babies!

About: Hi, I'm Chloe! Caring for animals isn't just something I do — it's my career. I worked as a veterinary assistant before moving to Houston, and I'm currently in school to become a licensed veterinary technician. Your pet gets professional-level care on every single visit. WHAT MAKES ME DIFFERENT: I can administer medications by mouth, injection, or IV (dogs AND cats — insulin, fluids, inhalers), recognize early signs of illness, stress, or heat stroke before they become emergencies, and I'm trained in pet first aid/CPR. If your pet is a senior, diabetic, post-surgical, anxious, or “a lot” — I'm the sitter who's genuinely comfortable with that. CAT PARENTS: I'm one of the few sitters in the Heights who can give injectable medications to cats. Diabetic kitties are welcome and loved here. EVERY BOOKING INCLUDES: photo + video updates on every visit through Rover Cards, a detailed report (potty, appetite, meds, mood), and for house sits — mail, plants, trash, and lights so your home looks lived-in. AVAILABILITY: My school schedule keeps me local and flexible — early mornings, midday, evenings, and overnight house sits any day of the week. I live in the Heights, so Rice Military, Washington Ave, Montrose, and Downtown are minutes away. HOW TO START: Message me for a free meet & greet — I'd love to meet your pet, learn their routine, and answer anything before you book. New-client launch rates are in effect for a limited time. I can't wait to meet your crew! 🐾 My schedule is genuinely flexible. I recently moved to Houston and am finishing my veterinary technician degree — done within the year! — which means I'm available for walks and drop-in visits mornings, midday, and evenings, most days of the week. For house sitting, I specialize in SHORT TRIPS: 1–3 night stays are my sweet spot — perfect for weekend getaways, work trips, and holiday visits. I am more than open to also taking longer house sits, for those pets that need someone like me! I'm based in the Heights with a car: Rice Military, Montrose, Washington Ave, Downtown, River Oaks, and Memorial are all easy, and I'm happy to travel a little farther for pets with medical needs. My calendar stays current — send me your dates! I never leave a dog unattended outdoors — even in a fenced yard — because things can happen in seconds. My vet-clinic training means I know what early trouble looks like (heat stress, pain, GI upset, allergic reactions) and what to do about it: I'm trained in pet first aid/CPR, I save your vet's number and the nearest emergency hospital's before our first visit, and you'll hear from me immediately if anything ever seems off. Reactive or anxious dogs are welcome — I move at their pace, follow your protocols exactly, and keep introductions calm and structured. Your home gets the same respect: clean, locked, lights and routines just as you left them.

About: I have had either a dog or a cat for the past 30+ years. I absolutely adore them and love to take care of them; especially if I can take them outside to play or walk. I have some experience with basic obedience and basic agility training for dogs. I probably can even teach your cat to sit! Please note this important information about booking with me for the first time: I am available to do meet and greets before the booking is confirmed and are happy to answer questions about my services before we set it. -I typically schedule meet and greets within one week in advance of the service. -I do charge for each animal in our care. Check out the Services tab for pricing info! -Rover does not share your address with me before the service is booked and payment confirmation is received. However, you may choose to share your address with me via the chat in the Rover app. I am currently working part time (mostly evenings) and have spare time on my hands. I can do mornings, and days up to about 3pm I live in a condo building but have stairs in the event your pet is reactive and needs to be taken out for walks or potty breaks without interactions with other animals or people; depending on their needs!

Hannah was absolutely wonderful with my dog! She was incredibly patient and took the time to let my dog get comfortable, which made such a big difference. She kept me updated with great communication throughout the stay, and I always felt informed and reassured. Knowing she was willing to go at my dog’s pace gave me so much peace of mind. By the end of the stay, they had settled into a great routine together, and I could tell my dog was well cared for. I would definitely book with Hannah again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a kind, patient, and reliable sitter.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Dog Sitting in Houston on Rover is $21.4 per visit (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Dog Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Dog Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 6,437 sitters on Rover offering Dog Sitting across Houston. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Houston stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Houston choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in Houston with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Houston. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
