Michelle has a lot of experience with small dogs and lives in an environment that is safe for them which is really important to me. She sent regular and informative updates throughout the stay. “Barkley stayed for a full week, and I couldn’t have asked for better care. I received constant updates and so many great pictures throughout the stay of Barkley having fun with Kiwi. It was obvious Barkley was happy, comfortable, and being treated like family. What really stood out was the flexibility and kindness of Magali when my travel plans changed due to a long airline delay. Magali was incredibly accommodating and allowed an extra night stay without hesitation, which relieved a huge amount of stress. Reliable, communicative, caring, and genuinely great with dogs. I would absolutely book again with Magali and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy to care for their pet!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Houston
Hannah was nothing short of amazing! I’ve used rover many many times over the course of 8 years and this was my best experience. Her place was super clean, her pups were super well adjusted and mingled well, and most of all Hannah was amazing. She sent pics and videos constantly and seemed to really connect and care about my pups. I couldn’t recommend her more 😊

I could not recommend Ruaidhri enough! He is so thoughtful and caring with our two goldens and I trust him implicitly! From the very first meet and greet, he immediately put me at ease and has gone above and beyond to care for them! He sends loads of pictures and videos and I know that I never have to worry about them when they’re with Ruaidhri!

Angelique was amazing! This was my first time leaving Tay with a pet sitter outside of a traditional boarding facility, so I was definitely nervous. She met with me beforehand for a meet-and-greet, which immediately eased my anxiety. During Tay’s stay, she sent daily updates and lots of pictures, which gave me so much peace of mind. I could tell Tay was well cared for and in great hands the entire time. Angelique is so sweet, and her family is incredibly kind as well. I couldn’t have asked for a better first Rover experience. Tay will definitely be back! 🩷

Fiiipa and Kiki always take wonderful care of Finley! I trust them completely. Finley is now on several medications and an insulin shot and they took the time to have me drop him off early to go over his medication schedule and how to administer the shot (although Filipa already had experience with this). I'll definitely be using them again when we go out of town.

Perla is the best! She was super welcoming from the beginning/initial conversation. I felt So comfortable leaving Fendi and King with her. She provided so many updates as well and from the looks of the pics, they had an amazing time. I’ll definitely book again. Yall better book too!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
