“Isabella took great care of our dog! He can be anxious with new people but she was very patient and understanding. It was such a relief to know he was in good hands! The constant updates and pics of him really put us at ease and was so so appreciated.”

“Kayla has been wonderful. I mistakenly shorted my booking by one day and Kayla accommodated me even tho she didn't have to. I really appreciate Kayla being so genuine and intentional! Peyton has earned allergies and she made sure he got his ear drops daily. He came home with no more itchy red ears! PeytonPooch had a wonderful time.”

“Lesly was truly a fantastic Rover for our active dog! Not only did she treat him like a king she was flexible and allowing us to extend our stay! Communicative and made sure he stayed busy with walks and trips to the dog park! Highly recommend.”

“I cannot say enough good things about how well Alexis cared for my fur baby! She truly went above and beyond and completely eased any nerves I had while leaving my sweet kitty! Each day she sent so many updates (in the very best way possible) and it was super clear how much she cared! Alexis truly treated my fuzz baby like her own and I cannot recommend her enough! She is definitely my go to now!”

“Great rover! I will use our services in the future for sure. She had great communication and sent me a lot of pictures of my dog, which was great. “We go on trips often and I love sending my King Kai to Camillo. He always goes above and beyond when he watches my bubba. He is very personable, responsive, and excellent with communication. Kai has a heart condition that requires daily medication and a special diet. Camillo makes sure Kai is well taken care of and I absolutely trust him to give Kai his medicine on time. I can definitely say that he is by far the best sitter I have had and my Kai loves him.”

“My dog is very anxious and can be weird about taking walks, but Ryan was great at letting him get used to him/comfortable with him and was even able to get him to go on walks after a while. I really appreciated Ryan’s text and picture updates because I miss my pup so much when I’m away from him! He was always super quick to respond, and his apartment location is really convenient as well. I will be using Ryan again!”

Alyssa was fantastic with our dog! She helped us out at the last minute for a trip we were taking. She was very accessible and answered all of our questions. Alyssa cared for our dog like it was her own, and provided updates on a regular basis. I could tell our dog felt at home with her, and really enjoyed his time. I would recommend Alyssa to anyone in need of dog sitting services.

Debbie provided excellent care for my rescue dog Akela. She provided plenty of updates and I can tell Akela was genuinely loved and cared for while I was away. Akela does not do well with other dogs and can be protective, etc. and Debbie met and exceeded all of Akela’s needs to have a comfortable and relaxing stay.

Abigail was fantastic! I was a little nervous leaving my anxious 16-year-old pup, but Abigail immediately made me feel comfortable. Our meet & greet went really well, and her communication before and during the stay was superb. She kept me updated throughout my pups’ stay with messages and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind. I’ll definitely be using Abigail again and would highly recommend her!

Madeline was awesome! Super responsive from the beginning and took great care of Bella. We especially appreciated checking in with us before giving Bella any treats or food beyond what we got for her. We highly recommend leaving your pup with her, we will certainly be doing so in the future.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
