“Darius was a god sent. I was visiting Houston from Dallas with my husband and puppy. I stayed at a dog friendly hotel but even going for breakfast made my puppy very anxious alone in the room we decided to use over for the first time and I urgently contacted Darius. He was very prompt to respond and accommodated everything. He was very vigilant for for example I feed my dog fresh food, which I forgot to tell him, but he had already put the food in the fridge. He has a very sweet and loving puppy, and I could visibly see mylo happy. If I ever returned to Houston, Darius is my guy. Milo has never been around strangers, but he was extremely comfortable with Darius. He also sent updates every so often and was prompted to answer anything I asked. I don’t think twice.”

“I was a bit anxious about leaving Harper while I had some tests run at MDA. I received photos and encouragement that he was doing just fine! (I should have known he wouldn’t miss me as much as I missed him.) What a great resource for any MDA patients from out of town! Harper will definitely be staying with Tommie and Jeffrey in the future.”

“Maria (and Penny too!) took such great care of Flynn! We got lots of photos and videos, it was so clear that Flynn was having fun all day. I would definitely recommend Maria!”

“Our first time with Rover and Kimberly was excellent with our dog, Milo. We left Milo there for 2 days back to back and he was happy to be there! Definitely recommend Kimberly for others”

“Lily loved Adrian right away 🥰 Adrian was very easy going and cordial. His time and service gave our visit to MD Anderson some relief knowing Lily was being well taken care of.”

“Jessica was great! She clearly loves animals and my pup bonded with her. It is always hard to leave a pup with someone new, but Jessica was very thoughtful in introducing my Bonni to her pets, and she held Bonni to give her comfort at drop off and kept me updated with pictures. I will not hesitate to drop Bonni off with her again.”

“Tressa was great to work with. I was in town on business and brought my pooch with me. Tressa was extremely responsive with the booking process and throughout my dog’s stay. He enjoyed himself every day and could tell he was well looked after. Thank you”

“Filipa is amazing with Tabasco. I’ve had her take him walking, she’s pick him up and brought him home for day care stays. I always get loads of pictures and updates too. She is very safety conscious and cares so well for my baby when he is in her care. I just can’t think of anyone better equipped and prepared.”

“Steven is the best doggie daycare on the Rover. He is caring, responsive, attentive and understanding. He took special care of my Yorkie and sent me pictures Parson during the day. I can’t wait to use him again and I’ve already referred him to my friends.”
“I’m so happy I found Jayla! I was a bit nervous about having someone I didn’t know keep my fur baby, but after our Meet & Greet I knew this would be a match! Jayla is pleasant, flexible with her schedule and communicates very well. My pup also took to her instantly, so that pretty much sealed the deal :-). I’ll definitely return as a customer and recommend to others!!”

About: Hello!! My name is Holly and I grew up with multiple dogs of all breeds and sizes! I became a dog mom in 2018 to my fur baby/child, Walker, a golden retriever. I am a pet lover and enjoy taking my dog to the park, on walks, and playing endlessly with every toy he brings me. I have experience with cats throughout college and post college years with multiple roommates owning them. I quickly became a cat lover on their terms of course haha! I have trained my golden as a puppy with skills such as crate training, basic commands, leash work, potty training etc. I am ready for the adventure to provide care and to be a helping hand for you and your fur baby so you can enjoy some time off, vacation, emergencies you name it! I am open/available to care for your animals when needed! Please let me know your schedule and I’m sure we can work make it work. I am available to come to your home and let out your animal when needed, provide a walk, feed or just be of company. If I am to host your animal I live in an apartment with a 70 pound golden retriever. My complex has a fenced in dog park I tend to let me dog out 3-4 times daily. We tend to take an hour walk each day during the cooler part of the day. Located near my apartment is the buffalo bayou trail, dog park, and neighborhood directly behind my apartment I walk my dog in.
“Stephanie is fantastic! She is so sweet and kind—Lavinia is happy and comfortable when with her. Stephanie sends photos throughout the day and is very easy to communicate with!”

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong pet owner with 10+ years of experience working in pet boarding facilities. I’ve cared for dogs and cats of all ages, including puppies and senior pets, and I’m comfortable administering medications and following specialized care routines. In addition to dogs and cats, I have experience caring for fish, rabbits, hamsters, reptiles, and other small animals. I currently have two dogs and a cat of my own, so I understand how important it is to find someone you trust with your pets. I offer boarding, daycare, walks, and drop-in visits, and I treat every pet as if they were my own. My goal is to provide a safe, loving, and stress-free experience for both pets and their owners, with reliable communication and updates while you’re away. If your pup enjoys car rides, I’m happy to take them on outings to a local park (with your permission, of course) for some extra enrichment and exercise. I also have training in photography and love capturing pets’ personalities, so you can expect high quality photos during their stay. When your pet is with me, you can expect tons of affection, exercise, and playtime so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! Please feel free to message with any questions. I am in college working on my surgical technologist degree, but most of my days are flexible for whatever care you need and willing to work with you to make sure your fur baby is well taken care of. I have two pups at home so a crate is a must in my home to keep everyone safe and happy! They will be walked every 4 hours with once a day a big extensive exercise which could include a long walk or the dog park in my complex!
“Delilah was amazing, very good with our fur baby, very experienced. But most important very tolerating and understanding with our little Tornado Raadi. Followed our instructions exactly and kept us updated as needed and or requested. Would highly recommend her.”

About: I grew up on a farm in Indiana and we were known as a place folks could dump big dogs. At one point we had 5 adult St Bernards - so I do love big dogs. However, even though I’m on the first floor, there are stairs and elevators to get to the outside. If you big dog struggles with stairs this might not be the happiest place for them. Overall, I have been around dogs are all sizes all my life. My only request is that they like cats as I have 3 boys who are not brave. I’m a healthcare analyst who works 99% of the time remote. My complex as a lovely dog park and I live in a highly walkable part of Midtown/Montrose. I’m in a complex with a lovely dog park and will require the use of a leash when the dog isn’t in my home or in a fenced dog park.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Houston
It was a pleasure leaving Rami in the company of Michelle for a short visit. She is a lovely, very responsible care-giver and made a concerted effort to make both me and the dog comfortable. Unfortunately Rami had an "accident" in the hallway, leaving Michelle with the cleanup, and I apologize for that. Thank you, Michelle, for helping out last night!
This was my first experience with a pet sitter. Ximena was wonderful with Barney and stayed in contact throughout the day. She was very responsive and sent photos and videos throughout the day to keep me updated. I could tell Barney had a blast and came home happy and relaxed. I could tell Ximena truly cared and made sure Barney had a great day and got along with the other pups. Will definitely be booking again!

Hannah offered a positive daycare experience for our three dogs who are 16, 12, and 5 years old respectively, and range from 20 to 45 pounds. We were able to helpfully meet her and her two dogs in the nearby dog park and walk over to her place. Her home is well set up for our dogs with safety gates and an exterior gate around the front door for added protection. My senior dog (20lbs) benefits from being carried up and down stairs to prevent extra strain on his spine and Hannah was very proactive on this point. We received photos and updates and returned to a happy crew. Because Hannah only takes three dogs at a time at this point in addition to her two pups, our trio of dogs were well rested and happy rather than tired out with adjustment stress. We will be booking with Hannah again.

Jocelyn is wonderful! My puppy is very energetic, but she handled him so well. She sent me lots of photos, and I could tell he was having such a great time with others! He came home happy and tired, and fell asleep right away. I really appreciate the care and updates!

Leah was wonderful with my super senior dog! She was kind, attentive, and kept me updated with photos throughout the stay, which gave me so much peace of mind. From the pictures, it was obvious my pup was comfortable, happy, and receiving lots of love and attention. Caring for an older dog takes extra patience, and Leah went above and beyond. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter!

We couldn’t be happier with the care our dog received! It’s clear he genuinely love animals. He provided regular updates, photos, and reassurance that our dog was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. Coming home after picking her up our dog was relaxed and clearly had a wonderful time. It's such a relief to find someone trustworthy who treats your pet like family. We highly recommend Rory to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and attentive dog sitter. We will absolutely be booking with them again!

Lauren has a warm and friendly personality, responds quickly, sent pictures throughout the day, and took great care of my dog Frannie! Loved having her as a pet sitter. Frannie always seemed to be in a good mood when I picked her up! Plus her dog, Prince, got along very well with Frannie :)

Cassandra is amazing! Our dog immediately went with her and seemed to have an incredible time! He came home tired and happy after she took him out on many adventures. We really enjoyed the fun photos she sent of him. She's friendly to people and dogs - perfect situation!

She did a great job with Rocket! He was so happy in her care and I felt comfortable knowing he was in good hands. Angelique provided timely updates with the cutest pictures and videos of my puppy! Angelique and her family pampered him with love. I would definitely rebook!

Mykah was amazing! She took care of our baby Benito for the whole day, and he was so happy and calm when we picked him up. We had to book a last-minute stay since we’re not from H-Town and had to bring Benito with us, and Mykah responded incredibly quickly. Communication was excellent the entire time. She kept us updated on how Benito was doing and sent pictures and videos of him playing and snoozing, which we really appreciated. We felt completely at ease knowing he was in such good hands. Highly recommend!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Houston commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
