I’ve been a dedicated dog lover for over 27 years, starting with my first pup, Mystic, a Chow Mix/German Shepherd. Since then, I’ve raised and cared for multiple dogs, including Paco (Husky mix), Kiko, Lisha, Marley, and their mom, Sasha. From playful puppies to loving seniors, I’ve experienced it all and know how to handle a variety of needs with care and patience. Dogs bring so much joy, and I can’t wait to give yours the same love and attention!

Idalia was wonderful with Elsie! She was very attentive and made sure Elsie felt comfortable and at home throughout the day. Elsie and Cloud got along really well, and she came home happy and ready to play, which was a great sign that she had a fun day! Idalia also kept us updated throughout the day with photos and details about what they were doing. We really appreciated how caring and thoughtful she was with Elsie. We would definitely trust her with Elsie again!

Schedule
PLEASE READ: I work from home and have a flexible schedule, which allows me to provide plenty of attention, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and cuddles throughout the day. My dog, Cloud, keeps me on an early-riser schedule, and I always keep an eye on the pups in my care. During the week, I’m mostly a homebody, and on weekends I enjoy taking walks at Buffalo Bayou Park. My centrally located Houston apartment is a great option for both local pet parents and visitors looking for reliable, loving care for their dogs. 🐾 PLEASE NOTE: I also work a second part-time job, so I require at least 3 weeks’ advance notice for boarding requests. This allows me enough time to coordinate my work schedules and make sure I can give your pup the attention and care they deserve. ❤️

Safety, trust & environment
Your dog's safety and comfort are my top priorities. My apartment is dog-proofed and designed with pets in mind, featuring plenty of open space, dog beds, toys, enrichment puzzles, and separate areas that can be created with baby gates if needed. I have access to a fenced dog park within my community, a courtyard for quick potty breaks, and Buffalo Bayou Park nearby for walks. For added peace of mind, the nearest emergency veterinary hospital is less than half a mile away, and I am familiar with the canine Heimlich maneuver. I strive to maintain your dog's normal routine, so I encourage pet parents to share feeding schedules, treat limits, and any special care instructions to ensure a seamless, stress-free stay.

A typical day
I do not rush any walks, sniffing is like social media for dogs so I take my time on walks and let dogs sniff as much as they want! Buffalo Bayou Park is right around the corner so there is plenty of space for outdoor activity if its not too hot for your dog! Due to the extreme heat, I have cut my walks with my dog in half to prevent overheating (he is a rescue from Detroit so this Houston humidity is very new to him lol) but if your dog has a higher tolerance, I can go on a longer walk with your dog and leave my dog at home. I work from home and like to take several breaks to play or cuddle with my dog so your dog will get the same treatment! My dog usually has nap-time around the early afternoon and my home has lots of beds for an afternoon snooze! I have tons of dog treat puzzle toys to help enhance mental activity as well as sniff mats to keep your dog happy! I have tons of small treats and peanut butter kongs for rewarding behavior as well :)

- Let me know if your dog has any special needs or behaviors that I can account for. Please let me know if your dog is potty trained as this is very important. I have experience with puppies as well as how to handle senior dogs. I have also had experience with blind or deaf dogs and can accommodate. (please note that if your dog has dementia/severe anxiety, it might not be ideal to board in a new environment as dogs with dementia need familiarity with their space. Your dog will be much comfortable at your home and we can schedule drop-in visits!) If you prefer we not visit the dog park, please let me know. My dog is fixed & pretty chill with other dogs. He is a rescue but has never shown any aggression towards other dogs. He has passed the standard dog daycare temperament test and always does well during doggy daycare with other dogs but I am good with noticing patterns that may require space or if he needs a break.
