About: I have cared for animals my whole life and grew up around both farm animals and household pets. Over the heads I’ve gained hands-on experience feeding, walking, and looking after animals of different sizes and temperaments. I’ve also dog-sat for friends and family, making sure their pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while they’re away. I treat every pet as if they were my own and enjoy getting to know each animal’s personality. I’m currently going to school two days out of the week and I am open to sit any other day. I have a very flexible schedule and I’m open to any opportunity that arises. I am willing to work around any and all accommodations needed for the fur babies. I care for any pet the way I would care for a child, with lots of love and care.
About: I’ve been a dedicated dog lover for over 27 years, starting with my first pup, Mystic, a Chow Mix/German Shepherd. Since then, I’ve raised and cared for multiple dogs, including Paco (Husky mix), Kiko, Lisha, Marley, and their mom, Sasha. From playful puppies to loving seniors, I’ve experienced it all and know how to handle a variety of needs with care and patience. Dogs bring so much joy, and I can’t wait to give yours the same love and attention! I work from home and have a flexible schedule, which means plenty of attention, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and cuddles throughout the day. My dog, Cloud, keeps me on an early-riser schedule, and I always have an eye on the pups in my care. During the week I'm mostly a homebody, and on weekends I enjoy walks at Buffalo Bayou Park. My centrally located Houston apartment is a great option for both local pet parents and visitors needing reliable care for their dogs. 🐾 Please note: For weekday drop-in visits/walks, I am only available before 10am and after 7pm. Your dog's safety and comfort are my top priorities. My apartment is dog-proofed and designed with pets in mind, featuring plenty of open space, dog beds, toys, enrichment puzzles, and separate areas that can be created with baby gates if needed. I have access to a fenced dog park within my community, a courtyard for quick potty breaks, and Buffalo Bayou Park nearby for walks. For added peace of mind, the nearest emergency veterinary hospital is less than half a mile away, and I am familiar with the canine Heimlich maneuver. I strive to maintain your dog's normal routine, so I encourage pet parents to share feeding schedules, treat limits, and any special care instructions to ensure a seamless, stress-free stay.
About: -I live house with a fenced front yard in EaDo. I’ve been a dog mom my entire adult life (16+years now) 🫶🏼I currently have (3) fur babies of my own: Gia and Grizzly, who are littermates (6yrs), and Blondie (3.5yrs), who I found the day before I moved into my current home (I'm convinced she was a housewarming gift from the universe). My household also includes my cousin Jackeline and her cat Stormy, so yes... cats are welcome here too! ◡̈ I'm an active foster for Heart of the Underdog, a Houston-based, no-kill rescue. I occasionally volunteer at the Houston Humane Society, and throughout college I spent weekends walking dogs for Friends for Life. Caring for animals has been a constant thread throughout my adult life, not an occasional thing. I'm the happiest version of myself when I'm surrounded by animals and helping them have a better quality of life. This isn't just a side gig for me, it's genuinely my happy place. I'm at home throughout the week and most weekends. Im a homebody which allows me to give real time and attention, (not just check-ins), to all the pets in my care. My own dogs free-roam at home, and yours can to, as needed and with safety in mind. Through my years of fostering, I’ve become experienced at managing a multi-dog household safely, including around food and toy guarding situations. I've worked with reactive dogs, puppies, and pregnant mamas...and I've even delivered a litter of puppies in my home. I've also done hands-on training and confidence-building work with fosters who needed extra patience and support. I'm very tuned in to dog body language and behavior. I pay attention to what a dog is telling me, and I adjust my approach based on what they actually need. My own pups range from 60–90 lbs, so small and large breeds are welcome here.
About: I've had pets my entire life. I currently have a 8 year old boxer who was raised with another boxer and a himalayan cat. My cat passed away at the young age of 18 years old last year and our other boxer passed 3 years ago. I raised my pets from babies to seniors so I have been through it all. We also live across the street from the park so walks are a breeze. My husband and I work from home and live across from Woodland Park in the Heights so fun walks are easily accessible. Working from home gives us the flexibility to take care of your furry friend when needed. Your pet will be cared for as if it were my own. Walks will always be on a leash. Hugs will be shared accordingly, lol. Please provide crate if needed.
About: I’ve had dogs and all types of animals since I was a baby. I’m a huge animal lover. I don’t have time to have one of my own but I would love to babysit one when I do have the time! I work part time at a restaurant and the rest of my time I’m homes taking online classes so I have time for a companion when I do have days off for school. I live by myself so they would never be left in anyone else’s hands. They would only be with me and I have no their animals.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Houston
Darius was kind and has great energy. My dog took to him pretty instantly and let him pet all over her. He responded really quickly to my initial message requesting a walk and was able to do a meet and greet the very next day. He sent lots of pics and listened attentively when I explained all this Amber(my dog) to him.

Brittany's so awesome! She helped me last minute and walked my baby Nola. She was so sweet to also help me out. Brittany went above and beyond to make sure she was well taken care of. She was great with communication and details, even helped me out with everything because I waa having trouble booking . I absolutely recommend her!!

Kiara has been amazing with our puppy, Laila. She is reliable, communicative, and clearly very experienced with dogs. She goes beyond just walking and feeding. She has been helping with training and reinforcing good habits, and we have already seen a big difference in Laila’s behavior. What we appreciate most is how thoughtful and proactive she is. She pays attention, makes helpful suggestions, and genuinely cares. I would absolutely recommend Kiara to anyone looking for someone dependable and truly invested in the dogs she works with.

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Houston. On Rover:
- 93% of walkers can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
