I grew up with dogs my whole life and had various pets throughout my childhood (rabbits, gerbils, birds, squirrels, and the occasional frog or gecko :)) I have volunteered the Puppies for Breakfast event for the past 4 years and I also volunteer for various rescue groups in Houston.
