“Lacey is awesome! Lacey is super kind and excellent sitter! I could not wish for someone better. She took amazing care of my little spoiled demanding furry girl. She shared so many videos and pictures with me while I was away from my little girl so I would know what She was doing all the time. She left a little scorecard and treat bag for her. I absolutely recommend Lacey to anyone who is looking for a kind and experienced sitter. Lacey will be only sitter that I will use in the future.”

“This was our second time entrusting my beloved poodles, Coco and Pluto to the care of Emily and I cant express enough how delighted I am with the care they received. She is a true gem when it comes to looking after our furry babies. Communication is key and Emily consistently provided updates and photos during her time with Coco and Pluto. It was heartwarming to receive these messages and know that they were happy, healthy and well taken care of. I highly recommend Emily to anyone in need of a trustworthy, caring and reliable dog sitter and look forward to using her services again in the near future.”

“Violet was so wonderful and we appreciate her helping us on such short notice and keeping our two pups! Within an hour of dropping them off she had sent videos of them running around in the yard playing with her dog! She was very communicative and gave us lots of updates! Would definitely book with her again in the future!!”

“This is the 2nd time we’ve used Jocelyn & Syril. We were impressed by the way they greeted us and took the initiative to take charge of our pup right away. We like the fact that they use wipes for her paws as well as her bottom each time she goes for walks. They provide pics of her throughout her stay. They are in tune with her daily routine. Because she is older, her top three activities are 1) eat, 2) walk, 3) nap. We also like the fact that they limit the number of dogs in their care and they only take dogs up to 15 lbs. They are loving caregivers and good communicators. Our pup enjoys her mini vacations with them!”

“Finally, our pup Apawlo found a second home. Roland is awesome, we received regular updates and took care of Apawlo better than we would have taken care of him We will be regulars”

“Calli is exactly who you want to leave your baby with! She is lovely and caring and very knowledgeable. I got tons of updates and loved seeing my sweet girl having fun.”

“Elezah was great! Our babies were well taken care of and seemed really happy in the pictures she sent us. I am additionally grateful for her care of my elderly dog, Pepper, who needs meds and gentle care. I will use her service again in the future and recommend her highly.”

“Zariah really cared for my dog and sent me daily updates. He took a little while to get adjusted and she made him comfortable which was important to me. She also let me know when he messed up (bathroom on her floor) but she was really sweet about it and still took care of him. He was sad to go so that’s always a good sign!”

“Jamie went above and beyond taking excellent care of Maisie. She is absolutely the best!! Will definitely ask her again in the future, so glad to have found such a kind dog lover!”

“This was our first time using Rover, and naturally, we were nervous about leaving our fur baby with someone new—but Zee completely put our minds at ease from the moment we met her. She was warm, professional, and genuinely caring. Throughout Virgil’s stay, Zee sent daily updates and photos of him playing in her backyard, lounging inside, and just being his happy-energized self. It was such a relief to know he was in such great hands while we were out of the country. Her communication and attentiveness made all the difference. We are beyond grateful for the care and love Zee showed our pup and would absolutely book with her again in the future. Thank you so much, Zee!”

“Lindsey and her husband were so kind to our Layla May. I am always apprehensive to leave my dog but Lindsey set my mind at ease. She sent daily pictures and was very responsive. Grateful to have found them and will definitely reach out the next time we are out of town. Thank you Lindsey!”

“Hunter and her family were amazing and so good to our pup! We missed him so much and she made sure to send us pics of all the fun things he got to do! Thank you so so much!!! It truly means the world to us that Bane is well taken care of while we were away!”

“I had an excellent experience with this sitter and would highly recommend them! They were incredibly accommodating and accepted my last-minute booking, which I truly appreciated. From the start, communication was prompt and reassuring, and they kept me updated with messages and photos throughout my dog's stay. It was obvious that my dog was well cared for, comfortable, and received plenty of love and attention. Knowing my dog was in such good hands gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. Thank you for your flexibility, kindness, and exceptional care. I wouldn't hesitate to book with you again!”

“Susan is outstanding! We left our border collie, Luna, with Susan for 19 days in the summer. We received multiple pictures on a daily basis of Susan and her family playing and relaxing around the house with Luna. Luna also had a wonderful time playing with the other guest dogs! We will be sure to set up short babysitting dates for Luna to play with other dogs! Easily five stars!!”

“Lorraine was amazing! From initial communication, to meet and greet, to the actual stay she was wonderful! Our two Aussies had a 5 night stay. One of our dogs was a new rescue addition to our family. Lorraine was so helpful when Daisy was having some food issues and went above and beyond - not only while the dogs were with her - but also in using her experience and expertise to offer me help with ideas and solutions when we picked up our doggos. She sent pictures and sweet updates while we were away which was great! We would definitely be grateful if she was available the next time we have to be away. Definite recommend!”

“Thank you so much for watching Kai! You guys were amazing and help Kai to get comfortable. I was happy that Kai was in good hands as you were patient with him. I was kept informed with daily updates during his stay. ☺️ I will be booking in the future.”

“My anxious dog who doesn't warm up easily liked Tonya, which is a wonderful plus! Tonya was easy going about pick-up and drop-off, and I will definitely be calling her again.”

“We just love Dana and feel so confident in her taking care of our dog when we have to be out of town. My dog absolutely loves her and his canine friends at her house. She sends cute pictures everyday so that we can see is happy, healthy and having fun. Thanks Dana!”

Dobby, our 13yr old puppy, loves Christine very much. She tooke care of him just like her own fur babies and made sure all his senior needs were met. We have total peace of mind leaving Dobby with Christine knowing he is spoiled at her home while hanging along with his new friends there. She made sure to send us updates as well as accommodated all our requests for Dobby due to his age. Five stars all around. We’re already planning our next visit!

Our dog loves this family, who takes very good care of her and gives her lots of love and playtime when we are away. They follow the feeding and care instructions, stay in touch and send pictures and videos during the stay. Their lovely home is in a quiet, safe neighborhood, and she has a big yard out back for exploring as well. We highly recommend Erwin and his family as pet sitters.

Meghan took wonderful care of Nova and kept me updated throughout her stay with her thoughtful messages which gave me so much peace of mind. It was clear she was loved and well cared for ☺️ I would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter! ☺️
We were so happy with Bear's stay with Marranda. Bear instantly bonded with Marranda's dog and felt comfortable in the home. Marranda sent pictures daily and was responsive to my texts. We will definitely be booking Bear's stays with Marranda again. He came home healthy and happy. Thank you, Marranda!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
