“The best stay for our pup!! We chose Ashley based on her stellar reviews and they did not disappoint. Ashley and her family gave our dog so much love and care. Plus she sent so many photo and text updates! Our dog, Charlie clearly had the best time there and he was in such a happy mood when we picked him up too. We will definitely be back and are so grateful for someone as great as Ashley to look after our pup!”

“This family took great care of our extra large puppy for a week. Praise to them for keeping him happy and putting up with all the puppy behavior! They also consistently sent video of our guy and were super helpful all around. 100% recommended! They were great! Hope they will have us again.”

“Carrie and her husband took fantastic care of our baby. We felt immediately at ease during the meet and great - and equally as impressed when we dropped him off. Carrie is very knowledgeable and even suggested something for us to try with our pet. They went on plenty of walks and she updated us frequently. We picked up a very happy dog. There was never a doubt in our minds that our little Frodo was being well cared for.”

“Amanda is fantastic and took very good care of our dear Moon. We have kept Moon with Amanda multiple times and have been very happy each and every time. Moon enjoys being there and gets lots of love and attention. Amanda is also excellent at keeping us informed on Moons daily activities with photos and videos and Moon has made good friends with some of the other regular puppies there. Thank you Amanda for everything you do for our dear Moon. We highly recommend Amanda - she is the best!”

“Janell is amazing! She made my dog feel right at home and my dog was so clearly happy and well taken care of when I picked her up. I absolutely recommend her for anyone in the area looking for an experienced and kind dog sitter.”

“Liron was AMAZING! She sent me multiple pictures and videos throughout Ace’s stay. He had so much fun playing he was super tired when he got back home. She even went to the extent of extending Ace’s stay with a short notice. I will definitely be using her in the future!”

“Thank you for taking care of our Zeus! I appreciate the daily photos for check in. She came to pick up and drop off Zeus which made everything easy with ZERO hassle. Kimberly, you did a great job and i will definitely be booking again. She responded very quickly and accepted my booking almost immediately.”

“Amazing experience. Mathew and his amazing wife was beyond helpful and communicated very well. We did a meet and greet and immediately, I felt safe to be able to keep my dog with them. They communicated continually and always responded immediately. I got pictures, videos, and amazing playtime. I will definitely be booking again, actually next weekend. 😂😂”

“Kathryn was wonderful with our dog while we were on vacation! Communication was great—she sent daily updates and lots of videos, which we really appreciated. Our dog has some separation anxiety and she was incredibly patient and caring with him. It was clear he was being well looked after. We’d absolutely book with her again.”

“Veronica was a godsend. She knows exactly how to take care of my precious Skadee. I was apprehensive when leaving her but she was in great hands. Excellent communication and she will definitely be my go-to next time I travel.”

“Excellent. Really loves animals and gets to know their personalities. Went above and beyond to make our dog feel comfortable. Has great animal intuition. She is flexible. Clean accommodations. Just overall a great experience. She knows what she is doing”

“Elezha did an awesome job with my dog! I have never seen him connect with someone so fast. She kept me updated the whole time & gave him plenty of walks. Will definitely book again for future needs!”

“Wendy was absolutely fantastic with my our dog while I was away for a couple of days. She was incredibly communicative and sent frequent picture and video updates, which gave us total peace of mind. You can genuinely tell how much she loves dogs and cares for them like her own. I highly recommend booking with Wendy she's amazing!!!”

“Linda and Joseph did a fantastic job taking care of my dog, Austin. They made him feel at home and kept me updated with daily pictures. Austin looked calm and content in those photos, and he was the same when I picked him up. Beforehand, we did a meet-and-greet where Austin and I met Linda and Joseph along with their two adorable and friendly dogs. When I dropped Austin off, Linda mentioned his routine, clearly demonstrating that she had done her homework. I felt totally at ease leaving Austin with them.”

“Lesly took great care of my two dogs! She sent photos and videos while I was away and the dogs genuinely looked happy and had a good time! When I pulled up to pick them up, my older dog was outside for a potty break. I hadn’t opened my door yet and she was just very contently going pee (I know this is weird - stick with me hahah), she was sniffing the air and wasn’t stressed at all. This dog is an anxiety queen - so seeing her content was just the confirmation of what I already knew: they had a lovely vacation! Thanks Lesly!! My girls will be back if you’ll have them.”

“My baby girl Melrose has gotten more anxious when being boarded. Last year’s vacation was cut short because she wouldn’t eat or drink. My Vet suggested a pet sitter. I found Rover and saw Christy and just her picture put me at ease. She treated Mel as if she was her own. She kept us updated everyday with pictures and fun text messages. For Steve and I Christy is now family. I wish o could add more stars because I can’t say enough great things about Christy and her loving home. By the way her own dog Loki is a total sweetheart. You can’t put a price on piece of mind but if one is worried about prices it’s very comparable to boarding facilities.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
