“Saber had a great time with Mariah. We got multiple updates and great communication. We were so blessed by her help and flexibility during time out of town. From the pictures, it looked like Saber was one of the family! It looked like she loved it there! Thank you so much!”

“Elezha did an awesome job with my dog! I have never seen him connect with someone so fast. She kept me updated the whole time & gave him plenty of walks. Will definitely book again for future needs!”

“Ashley was very attentive to my 15 1/2 year-old miniature pincher. She provided Updates every day with PHOTOS. Chicago was very happy staying with Ashley. Looking forward to using her in the future.”

“Ariel took excellent care of my Bailey, so glad to have made the connection. I appreciated Ariel for sending pictures and updates without asking, definitely made me feel comfortable knowing he was in great hands and will book again!!”

“We love Ashley and always feel more than comfortable bringing our pup, Charlie, to stay here. Between the interactions with different animals and dogs to playing outside and in the water, we joke that he gets his own little vacation! Ashley is so kind provides lots of updates. We are so grateful for the care she provides Charlie!”

“Keliann is a phenomenal sitter and provides a great experience from beginning to end. She took the time to learn about my dog and her likes and dislikes and was very communicative with me both before we left for our trip and while we were away. By the time we left, I felt comfortable knowing that Ladybird was in good hands, and while we were gone, the photos that Keliann took ensured me that all was well and that Ladybird's "vacation" was really enjoyable for her. (5/5 stars!)”

“Kimberly is wonderful! She was able to give my diabetic cat his shots each day. My two cats were very afraid to be in a strange environment but she made special accommodations to settle them in and they calmed down. I'll be boarding them with her again!”

“Melissa, her husband, and their pups were wonderful hosts for my playful, sweet pup. You can tell both of them love dogs and really enjoy having them over. Their setup is great, giving the pups a designated space in a large playpen and pretty much unlimited access to the yard. There were about 5 other dogs there, one of which was also a puppy and made sure my pup got lots of playtime and exercise, and socialization, which was my main goal. The space is also very clean and organized. On top of everything else the communication was great and I got some great pictures and updates. I'm a very grateful dog mom. Highly recommended.🫶🏻”

“Kolohe granted was happy to see her mama, but when I tell you on the way out of Becky and Joel's neighborhood she cried. I think we have found our new awesome pet sitters. Thank You guys she obviously enjoyed herself cause she's never cried leaving from anyone's house before. And since we now have a family I can trust with her bipolar self, she will be going back. Probably sooner than thought since we can now go on a honeymoon in Oct after our wedding.”

“Lacey was an absolutely amazing dog sitter! From the moment we met, I could tell she genuinely loves and cares for animals. She provided regular updates and adorable photos of my senior dachshund, which gave me peace of mind while we were away. Cameron came home happy and tired from the constant play with the other pups at Lacey’s home. It’s clear she went above and beyond to ensure Cameron was comfortable and loved. I will definitely be booking with Lacey again—highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter!”
“Eva and Kallven were very competent, punctual, respectful, tidy, and polite. The meet and greet was great! Their personalities are great! Very quick responses when communicating and they are very professional. They were ten times better than a pet hotel. I will be using them for future stays. My pup was well taken care of. I received daily updates about my pup (pics and videos). I thank them for caring for my baby while I was away.”

“Shang went above and beyond in taking care of my dog. After realizing I forgot to bring vegs and other supplementary food I had packed, Shang facilitated the missing foods, giving that human touch and care.”
“Emily was wonderful! She was able to handle my senior boy's medications without issue, and sent updates so that I knew he was doing well while I was out of town.”

“Karen was very informative and responsive. Jasmine was very well cared for from what I can tell. Karen was accommodating as our previous sitter canceled the night before. Thank you Karen!”

“I couldn't be happier with Desiree's exceptional care of my dog Daisy over the past week. Desiree is incredibly responsive, caring, and trustworthy. Daisy seemed genuinely happy in her care, and I could see that Desiree made her time enjoyable. From our initial meet-up, I felt confident and grateful to have her looking after Daisy while I was away. Highly recommended!”

“My pets stay with Vivian was amazing. She was very responsive the entire process, from booking to pickup. She sent lots of pictures and kept me updated on how the cats were settling in! A week away was hard but knowing my babies were in good hands made it easier.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
