“This was out first time to leave our Mochi under someone’s care , of course separation anxiety was there , even my dog felt it a few days before we left , we did not know where to get a sitter, a boarding home, Johnny W took our request that was a short notice , Mochi had never been to a place where she saw goats , horses , chickens ( you see them freely before she gets to the dogs quarters ), Johnny met us and Mochi was quick to get attached with him. Daily updates and pictures was shared with us , we are so happy that she is in good hands and Mochi smiling and jumping . The anxiety I had slowly paced away seeing our baby girl taken cared of , picking her up was quick too as long as you communicate with them. In 2 wks we are out of state again , will surely rebook .”

“Thank you SO much for taking the best care of my 1yr old pup Sy. Going out of town can be stressful for pet & owner especially when you have a clingy dog that doesn’t always adjust to separation. Syre went into the house without hesitation, ran like a lunatic all around the backyard and made himself at home! He had so much fun playing and being loved on that he didn’t even notice I was gone. LOL thank you for giving me peace of mind that my dog was in good hands during an important trip.”

“This was the first time I used rover for a boarding service. So naturally I was nervous about it. Destinee made me feel very comfortable leaving my guy in her care. She sent me pictures and videos of him. I will 💯% recommend her to my friends and family!”

“Liz and her family took exemplary care of Missy our adult schnauzer. They even got dog food because she wasn't eating the food we provided. We also had to ask her for several extra days because I was having bypass surgery. I would give her AND family 10 stars if that was an option.”

“I couldn't be happier with Desiree's exceptional care of my dog Daisy over the past week. Desiree is incredibly responsive, caring, and trustworthy. Daisy seemed genuinely happy in her care, and I could see that Desiree made her time enjoyable. From our initial meet-up, I felt confident and grateful to have her looking after Daisy while I was away. Highly recommended!”

“Luke had a great time! We got lots of pictures and Marranda even made a Mothers Day card out of Luke’s paw prints. It was so cute & extra sweet. Looking forward to our next stay.”

“Ashley was just awesome with our 6 month old pup. Being first time dog onwards she gave me tips on things to watch out in his behaviors , she would text me to let me know what I could do, get resources , watch videos, etc . We are certainly booking her again and also in future! Thank you Ashley.”

“This was my second time using Vivian’s services, and once again it was a great experience! Lily enjoyed her stay with Vivian and her son and I received pictures and updates throughout!”

“Veronica was absolutely amazing! She took such great care of my babies and kept me updated with messages and photos throughout their stay, which gave me so much peace of mind. I could tell they were happy and comfortable with her. She was attentive, reliable, and clearly has a big heart for animals. I highly recommend her and would definitely book with her again!”

“Martine was such a pleasure to work with. She has a beautiful home in a beautiful safe area with an enclosed backyard that my dog really appreciated. She had no problem administering medicine that my dog needs and they seem to have a great time together and enjoyed little walks around the neighborhood. I highly recommend Martine as a trusted pet sitter who has a warm heart for pets”

“Timothy was great with the dogs! I late picking them up because I was out of town and someone else was driving so I wasn't able to get back as quickly as I'd thought. Timothy responded quickly when I let him know and we rescheduled for a later time. When I picked them up they were happy and smelled great.”
“Our first time using Rover and leaving our Sadie for a long period of time! Michelle was AMAZING!!! She sent pictures of Sadie all week and updates to calm my nerves while we were away! Sadie had the best time and could tell she was well taken care of and loved while we were away! My heart was at ease while in Michelle’s home/care! Thank you for such a wonderful experience!!! You were a blessing!”

“Dana took very good care of Buddy. She sent me pictures to show he was doing good. Buddy is diabetic, he is a very picky eater right now. Not only did Dana help with his shots but she even found food that he will eat. I will take Buddy to Dana for as long as she is dog sitting.”

“Thank you Paola for taking care of our 4 year old Aussie . Our dog seems to have been happy at your place and looks like he enjoyed the company of the dogs. I would highly recommend Poala. She is very friendly takes care of the dog, very communicative. We will definitely use her services again when needed.”

“We had only booked 1 day but had to extend the stay due to closures of flooding on I 10... And Rosario was so understanding and just awesome with the whole situation.. She was more than happy to keep our dog another day and just made me feel so comfortable knowing our puppy Sebastian (4 months old and 40 lbs) was so happy playing with her super friendly dog. When I picked him up she had him ready, clean, and fed.. Which is so nice when your a dog owner... She even made him treats! I'm so happy with her services, very professional... I never do reviews but she exceeded what I expected in a dog sitter... we are home now and I think he already misses being at her home. ”

“Frankie was very well taken care of with Yoanna and her family! He was happy and tired (in a good way) when we picked him up. Yoanna did a great job of sharing updates and photos throughout the stay. Her dog is also a sweetie. I will definitely book with her again!”

We have used Amy several times for the last couple years - her and her family are the best we’ve ever had watch our dogs! They are super communicative and flexible with dynamic schedules when traveling in and out of town. Stop looking around and send her a request right now!

Ashley was so sweet and genuinely loving with my two big dogs! Her yard was perfect for them to run around and play with her dog, and I could tell they felt so much more at ease there than at a regular boarding facility. She has excellent communication and very easy to work with. We can’t wait to board with Ashley and her family again for future trips!

Very kind with us and our pup. She made sure he was as comfortable as possible in her home. My dog is a shy dog at first and because of this, she was willing to do a meet n greet before his first stay! Ariella is very kind and friendly and really listens to the pet parents about what their specific animal needs. With my dog, he wears shoes outside because his paws burn and get scratched easily and she heard our concerns about it and followed through with putting his shoes on. She sent daily updated and asked before she did anything with him, including meeting her own animals. I definitely recommend Ariella for your pet’s care!

Justo was super flexible with his schedule, to take our last minute booking and make changes to the drop off time when needed. We received plenty of videos and pictures of our Great Pyrenees during his time there. Really appreciated the responsive communications too!

With this being my first time using Rover I’m not going to lie, I was nervous to leave my girl Rose with a stranger for a whole week. Erika was amazing! Very reliable, sent me pictures and videos daily, took my Rose on walks and even went the extra mile to keep her calm and gave her extra attention during a bad storm. I will definitely use her again for future pet care. Thank you again ❤️🥰

Heather and her family were incredibly kind, friendly and took great care of Luna. Their house was beautiful, very clean, organized, and had a very nice size backyard for a high energy dog like Luna (Husky mix). Thank you for being so accommodating and caring for Luna. We greatly appreciate and highly recommend.

Edward was amazing, our dog loved him and didn’t want to leave! We had just adopted our dog and were nervous about leaving him so soon but we could not have found a better place for him to go. Edward clearly loves dogs and his own are very sweet and extremely well trained. He made sure all the dogs got along before keeping our dog and we could tell our dog would be treated as part of the family during his stay. From the start, he was very responsive, professional, and friendly. He sent us updates and pictures throughout the stay. We will definitely be using Edward every time we need to board our dog from now on!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
