About: I’ve been caring for animals since I was 14 years old and have experience with a wide variety of pets. Caring for animals has always been a natural part of my life, and I genuinely enjoy spending my time with them. As a pet owner myself, I’ve navigated multiple health challenges with my senior dog, which has made me especially attentive to changes in behavior, appetite, mobility, and overall well-being. I’m comfortable administering medications and providing extra care for senior pets or those with special needs. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your furry family member. Whether your pet is energetic and playful or needs a slower pace and extra patience, I’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. A few things that make my home and care style a great fit. * Comfortable administering medications * Attentive to signs of illness or distress * Reliable transportation * Flexible schedule with plenty of availability * Single-story home that’s easy for pets with mobility limitations * No children in the home * Regular updates, photos, and communication so you can have peace of mind I currently have an open schedule to accommodate your loved one! No distractions besides caring for my own dog and cat. I can come over multiple times a day for walks, potty breaks, and quality/play time, or do overnights. I have a fenced backyard and a one story home easy to navigate. I have one senior dog who has never met a dog/cat/human he didn’t like, and a cat who is dog friendly and largely keeps to herself. Animals are allowed on the furniture! Safe gated community to walk your pup in if requested. No other adult/child in home. I can also watch at your home. I only ask that my pug can also come. He is crate trained, potty trained, and a very good boy.
“Second time booking Hannah and she was such a trooper for taking on the extra tasks we asked with the cats. Our shy GSD is finally warming up so we will definitely be using her again!”

“Sarah was very accommodating and took great care of the dogs while we were away. She communicated throughout her visit and sent us some pics! Very grateful for a good experience with Sarah!”

“I’m definitely a repeat client for Stacey. She is the best! She always does the most for my Winnie boy. I’ve had to leave him for long periods of time and short ones. No matter the case she will take care of your pooch just like you would. You can have peace of mind your pet is in the best hands possible.”
About: I have taken care of small dogs of most kinds since I was 10. Neighbors, friends and family rely on me to board their small dogs. Small babies are my love. They will receive alot of petting and holding if they desire. I have 2 shitsu's. Male. Love other dogs and people. No cats please allergic. I am retired and have time for your small baby. Will only take 2 at a time. Your baby is my priority when in my care. They are mine until you return. I have a fenced in area for your small pet to play with me with them only. Harper and Parker are my full time babies.
“We LOVED having Keirstan at our house to stay with our three babies for five nights. I am one to stress over and constantly think about the well-being of my dogs when I am out of town. While I still thought of the dogs very often on my trip, I was never once worried about how they were doing and that thanks to Keirstan's constant contact and reassurance that we GREATLY appreciated. This trip was especially special to us because we got engaged on this trip and I was able to be fully present in the moment and soak it in knowing that our babies were being taken care of in the best manner. I honestly think Dan was a little disappointed to see us instead of Keirstan when we got home lol. That just goes to show you how she truly cared about our dogs and gave them all the love they deserve. We also appreciate her being patient with Daisy, as she is a tough nut to crack. Not long after Keirstan got there, Daisy was warming up to her little by little. Lastly, Duke got sick one night and she kept a close watch on him and made she he was okay and kept us posted which we greatly appreciated. I can't recommend her enough! Thank you, Keirstan!!”

About: I have grown up with dogs all my life. I currently have three rescue dogs that I love. I have pet sitted for family, friends and neighbors for years. I am home from college this summer doing online classes and have tons of flexibility in my day. I am open any day of the week. I will follow any instructions you have for your fur babies. I am in charge of feeding and watering my dogs at home and typically take them on regular walks.
“We had a great experience with Suvanna. She took care of my two large dogs for more than three days. She followed all the instructions and stuck to my dogs’ schedule. Both of them were really happy with her. I would definitely take her help again next time.”
“Stephanie was absolutely wonderful with my dog, Kujo. He adored her. I received daily photos and clear communication from her during the stay. We will definitely be back. ❤️”

“We ended up having to cancel our trip so we didn’t actually get a chance to have Aaliyah sit for us. However we will definitely be requesting her next time we need a sitter. She was very quick to respond to my messages, she came for a meet and greet and the dogs absolutely loved her. She was sweet, polite, and made sure she had any info needed to care for our pups.”
“Amanda took excellent care of my beagle guy while we were away. She was reliable, communicative, and clearly love animals. I appreciated the regular updates and photos! It gave me real peace of mind. My dog seemed happy, well-exercised, and comfortable when I returned. I would absolutely book them again if I ever travel back to Houston.”

“Ariella was absolutely fantastic with our dogs and extremely personable throughout this process. She was attentive to their individual needs and quickly built a bond with them. She was proactive in her communication sending photo and text updates daily. We came home to find our dogs and house were incredibly well cared for and the trash was even taken out to the curb. We'll be recommending her to everyone.”

“Heather did such a great job! This was my first time using Rover for house sitting. She took great care of my dog and was very communicative. I got cute pictures and updates throughout the weekend. I’m so grateful for her help. It gave me peace of mind while I was away. :)”

“Madeline took great care of our dogs while we were on vacation for spring break! She was great about following the specific food diet and medication regime for one of our dogs. We received many pictures of happy and smiling doggos.”

“Neysha is incredible! She house/dog sat for us over three days and went above and beyond on communication, care and expectations. We will definitely be using her again and recommend her to everyone else!”

“Chi was a big help jumping in last minute. Our regular pet sitter had a family emergency and Chi graciously accepted the assignment, and was very communicative right out the gate. My cat was well cared for and happy. Thanks, Chi! And thanks Chanell for helping to coordinate!”

Ana was fantastic! She house-sat for me for a week and took such great care of my dog and two cats. She was so patient with my 1 year old pup (who can take a little time to warm up to new people), sent great updates and photos, and even tidied up and swept while I was gone. She’s super easy to communicate with, laid-back, and genuinely caring. I felt completely at ease while I was away and would absolutely book her again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Friendswood on Rover is $35.52 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of June 2026, there are 2,731 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Friendswood. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Friendswood walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Friendswood maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Friendswood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Friendswood. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
