“This was my first time leaving my pup with anyone other than my mom and Amy was so nice and thoughtful from the beginning, she kept me updated with pics and videos throughout Cookie’s stay with her and i felt so at ease the whole time knowing he was well taken care of, will definitely book again with Amy next time”

“It was so nice to see Dana again after a couple of year hiatus! I appreciate that she made herself available to take care of my dog even though she was busy with other things at that time. My dog loves her and that goes a long way with us! Thank you, Dana!”

“This family was great with helping accommodate our family during the holiday season! They are a sweet, kind and thoughtful family. Hands down would recommend. We look forward to reaching out again in the future!!”

“We couldn't have been happier with Abby's care for our dog. As other reviews have mentioned, she was not only incredibly loving and attentive to our dog, she also did an amazing job of keeping us informed of how our dog was doing. We have an older Doberman that has lived with us her entire life, in the same house, and sometimes requires a little more attention and care (meds, e.g.) so we were a little nervous about leaving her somewhere else for a few days but that nervousness was completely unwarranted. She really did treat our dog as if she was her own. We couldn't imagine leaving our dog with anyone other than Abby going forward and obviously we highly recommend using her to anyone else looking for a a reliable, loving pet sitter.”

“Despite my last minute booking, she worked with us and even returned my wallet after I dropped it in the yard. Andrea made a good impression on our dog and assured me she could handle Romy. She was kind enough to send us pictures each day and adjusted furniture to for Romy, as our dog and another ran through the house. We were so impressed that a friend got word and asked for her information so that he could book his husky with her.”

“Ahsoka had the best time at Emily’s place! She made new friends and Emily was so considerate with her during her stay. Can’t wait to board Ahsoka with Emily again!”

“First time boarding my recently adopted dog Turkey. I could not have gotten luckier than to have found Roki on the Rover website. Communicated well prior to my dropping off Turkey. Was extremely welcoming when we arrived. Beautiful fenced in back yard and very gentle golden retriever for Turkey to play with. Highly recommend Roki.”

“Mia was very flexible and took care of my two animals, treating them as royalty. I had to extend my request a bit longer and she was able to accommodate. Received multiple updates during their stay as well as pictures, so I could definitely tell they were in great hands. Hands down, one of the best pet sitters I have dealt with since using this platform. THANK YOU, Mia B!!!”

“Brandon is my new favorite dog sitter and I am thrilled. He and his partner Rhonda were wonderful to meet, very welcoming to Stella and me in their home. Brandon was noticeably helpful in my communications with him; easy-going during my search for a sitter and also at drop-off. He was especially excellent with daily contact to show me photos and to share notes about her status; it was a grand surprise to hear from him within just a few hours after drop-off. I have complete confidence in his professional skills and attitude. I’m crossing my fingers that he will be available each time Stella needs a pet-sitter in the future.”

“Will definitely use again! Last minute booking, our vet recommended against kenneling anymore, as our dog always came home sick. We had a 2 week vacation scheduled (for a year) and Liz was willing to take him for an extended stay on his first visit. Winston is high maintenance - a finicky eating breed, but also innate. I have tried to break this for 7 years but got him from a breeder late, that fed him off his plate. He came spoiled! Liz powered through, handled his daily allergy pill and eye drops, slept with him on the couch to help him transition, took him for daily walks, sent me a daily picture and took such great care of our little one. Importantly, she only takes one dog at a time, providing great care.”

“Absolutely amazing!!! My pups love this place and the staff! Pick up and drop off were seamless. They went above and beyond to take care of them for a week long stay by ensuring daily feeding and grooming routines were just as they are at home. We received daily updates and pics to let us know they were doing great which put my mind at ease since this was the first time leaving them with anyone other than family. They were both bathed and smelling great for pick up…. She even trimmed my girls’ nails! We will be going back for boarding and grooming for sure!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
