“She took care of our puppy on such short notice (literally within minutes at 8am). Had him all day and night and we just scheduled for him to stay another night. Roki is so nice, keeps you updated, and makes us very comfortable while she watches our “son” lol highly recommend”

“Abbey loved our girls and made them family while they were there. We have 2 sister Snorkies who are very spoiled and since Covid we have not left them with anyone. We decided that we wanted to start traveling again and we found Abbey close to the cruise ports of Galveston, we went down early for a meet and greet and then the next day dropped them off and they were totally comfortable with her. She sent multiple messages with pictures and gave daily updates which we were so happy to receive. We have already told her that the girls will be back for sure. Thank you Abbey for loving the girls!!”

“Benji LOVED staying with Thi and Jace! From the meet and greet, my pup felt comfortable with the two of them (and he usually takes a while to warm up). He seemed to get a lot of love and attention throughout his stay - cuddling and playing inside and outside walking/playing at the park. They sent me tons of quality photos/videos at 3 times throughout the day, which I made me feel good and confirmed how great of a time Benji was having. They are also very responsible - Thi thoroughly reviewed instructions and asked my permission to take Benji to her dad's house so he could enjoy a large backyard. Their home is a nice, clean, cozy apartment, and they have a few very fuzzy large dog beds that Benji liked. I would recommend 100%! Thank you!”

A nice comfortable area in home to relax, enjoy a meal or sit on couch and watch tv.

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is my calm, patient approach and my focus on understanding each dog’s individual needs. I have hands-on experience with both puppies and senior dogs—everything from basic puppy training and crate introduction to administering medications, monitoring mobility, and providing extra comfort for pets. I’m attentive, reliable, and always communicate clearly with owners so you feel connected and confident while you’re away. Pet care is naturally built into my daily routine. I schedule my day around feeding times, walks, play sessions, and check-ins to make sure each pet gets consistent attention. Throughout the week, I plan my errands and commitments so I’m always available for regular routines, medication schedules, or extra exercise when needed. Caring for pets isn’t something I fit around my life—it’s a core part of my day. When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their established routines as closely as possible—meal times, walking routes, training rules, and household preferences. I maintain a clean, comfortable environment, provide lots of companionship, and send regular updates so owners feel connected. My goal is always to help pets feel secure and maintain their normal rhythm whether they’re with me or I’m with them
“Susan and her family do an excellent job with our dogs. I don't worry about the dogs at all when they're at Susan's house which is a huge stress reliever for me! I have 2 dogs - one is relatively young and very easy to watch - but my other one is an elderly toy poodle with medical and mobility issues. It takes work to watch her and Susan does a fantastic job with her. She also sends me pictures and updates every day and they come home with a cute report card! I'm so thankful to have found Susan!”

“Heidi was excellent. She treated Gizmo like we was in his own home. They went for walks, played and in general she let Gizmo feel safe and secure as if he was home. Thank you Heidi as we were so worried to leave him for that many days.”

About: Hello. I am a student at the College of the Mainland and have some extra time on my hands to care for household pets. I started off fostering a puppy for the ARC for a couple of weeks and really enjoyed it. I would love to continue caring for dogs (of any age) and am looking forward to doing so through this website! While I prefer dog-sitting in the home that the dog is most comfortable in, I am open to them staying with me at my house! I have a Pomeranian-corgi mix and she is 8 years old that will accompany them at my house. She is well mannered with other dogs as I frequently bring her to the local Texas City dog park. I also watch and walk my mom's beagle as needed for her. When boarding dogs in my home they will never be left unattended unless I am at school, then they will be in a crate for no more than 2 hours. Please contact me for any services you may need for your furbaby!

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Texas City
Robin was amazing with my new puppy Teddy, He is only 9 weeks old, so I was really nervous leaving him. She made me feel so comfortable and took really good care of him while I was getting everything situated. I could tell he was getting a lot of love and attention, and it made me feel a lot better knowing he was in good hands. I’m really thankful for her and would definitely recommend as she treats each dog as her own. Me and Teddy will definitely see her again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
