“Elizabeth took such good care of my 2 kitties! I received regular updates including photos and videos. Missy and Winky are usually slow to warm up, but Elizabeth had them relaxed in no time. By the end of their stay, they were all best friends. I would definitely recommend Elizabeth to other pet parents.”

“Thi and Jace did a wonderful job. They kept our dogs busy with a lot of activities and sent updates twice a day with a ton of photos. Our kids loved looking at the photos during our vacation and were excited to see their dogs.”

“Martine was such a pleasure to work with. She has a beautiful home in a beautiful safe area with an enclosed backyard that my dog really appreciated. About: I have about seven years of hands-on experience caring for dogs and have raised and cared for multiple dogs from puppyhood. My experience includes feeding, daily walks, potty training and routines, playtime, basic grooming, and providing plenty of attention and companionship. Having raised puppies, I’m also familiar with the extra patience, supervision, and consistency younger dogs need. I’m comfortable caring for both puppies and adult dogs and will follow your dog’s normal routine and care instructions closely so they feel safe and comfortable while you’re away! I have a very flexible schedule and am home throughout most of the day, which allows me to give pets plenty of individual attention, playtime, potty breaks, and supervision. I’m able to accommodate each pet’s normal routine and can provide frequent outdoor time, enrichment, and lots of affection throughout their stay. I also have plenty of flexibility for drop-off and pick-up times. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my priority. For boarding, I live in a house with a fully fenced backyard and currently have one cat and no dogs in the home. I only board pets from one family at a time so I can provide plenty of individual attention. If your dog is uncomfortable with cats, I can keep my cat safely separated during their stay. For walks and drop-in visits, I’ll carefully follow your instructions and your pet’s normal routine, including feeding, walks, potty breaks, medications, and any other care needs. I’m also happy to provide regular photos and updates while your pet is in my care!

“Synamon, Christopher & their sweet family treated our dog as if she were their own. They were so loving & attentive, and they sent us lots of pics while we were away ♥️ I would recommend them to anyone!”

“I'm a regular customer at this point coz of the service is always above and beyond for me. Thank you Zee for taking care of my baby and as always Chunky had a blast with you. See you again in a few weeks.”

“Alyssa and her husband were the best. I was VERY worried about leaving my babies and she and her husband made me feel much better when dropping them off. Alyssa sent pics and videos every day. She was even very accommodating when my flight got delayed. Thanks again, Alyssa & husband!”

“Thanks Alexis and Sean! :) They are great sitters. This was the first time we left our cat with anyone and they did a great job - our cat didn't even want to leave at the end of the trip haha! Lots of photo updates were much appreciated :)”

“Kristin was amazing!! She watched our dog, and sent us lots of videos and pictures when we were gone. She has a big backyard for your dogs to run around in, and she has dogs that were friends with my dog! I used to be stressed about finding somewhere for my dog to stay when we went out of town, but Kristin made the experience totally stress free. She is amazing!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
