“Ariel was the best! Not only did she answer and accept my last minute request at 2:00 a.m. for the same day at 10:00 a.m. in MINUTES, when plans changed, and I asked for my 5 month old puppy to stay for an extra hour and a half, she was more than willing. She provided constant updates and photos throughout the day, and kept my boy entertained (he was exhausted that night- haha). She is truly a life saver. Thank you endlessly, Ariel. Truly! You're the best :)”

“Robin welcomed Lucy right away. She let us see the accommodation and fence so we could be reassured. Lucy seems calm and well cared for. I appreciate the pictures throughout the day.”

“Fabulous pet sitter! So grateful that we can leave Bear and not worry during our time away! Bear has some separation anxiety, so knowing he will be taken care of makes it easy on this dog mom. We use Jennifer every time we come to Galveston and will definitely use her again when we come back”

“I truly appreciate Timothy for taking care of Quincy, especially on such short notice. He was responsive to all of my questions and made the process easy. I did receive one photo during Quincy’s stay, and I would have loved to get a few more updates, but overall I have no complaints. Thank you for caring for Quincy!”

“I have found Harveys people!! Angela and her husband are the best!!!! I can now go meet with clients and occasionally do an over night trip knowing my rotten little dog will not be alone!! I am so very happy to have found them!! Thank you Angela!”

About: Hi! We're Ashley and Chantelle, a dependable animal-loving couple who treats every pet like family. One of the biggest benefits of booking with us is that Ashley works from home, so your pet will receive plenty of attention, supervision, and care throughout the day. We're also proud pet parents to two dogs of our own—Mylo, who is 8 years old, and Rose, who is 3. Caring for them every day has given us firsthand experience with different personalities, energy levels, routines, and the love and attention dogs need to thrive. We enjoy staying active and providing walks, playtime, belly rubs, and lots of affection. Whether your pet is energetic, shy, young, or senior, we'll follow their routine and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you're away. We believe in reliable communication and will keep you updated with photos and messages so you can have peace of mind knowing your furry family member is in good hands. We believe pets are family. Unless requested by the owner, dogs are not kenneled and are free to relax, play, and enjoy our home just like our own dogs, Mylo and Rose. We look forward to meeting you and your pets! 🐾❤️ Pet care fits naturally into our daily routine. Ashley works from home, so pets are supervised and cared for throughout the day with plenty of attention, potty breaks, companionship, feeding, walks, and playtime. After Chantelle gets off work, we continue walks, play, and care together, making sure pets receive consistent love, structure, and attention throughout the day. We prioritize safety, trust, and a calm, pet-friendly environment. At our home, we have a fully fenced yard for safe outdoor time and supervised play. Pets in our care are treated like family and are never left unattended during outdoor time. We maintain a clean, comfortable space where pets can relax and feel at ease. Dog daycare is also available in our home with plenty of supervision, attention, and care throughout the day.
“Heidi rocks! Her home matched her way of being; was warm and welcoming for Tank bc he gets separation anxiety especially in a new place. It didn't take long for him to feel right at home with Heidi who was wonderful to deal with as she sent lots of fun updates throughout the days while Tank was with her. I highly recommend Heidi for anyone traveling to Galveston!”

“Mya was fantastic! We felt very comfortable dropping our dog off there. She was great about communicating and also accepted our last minute request to do daycare. We received pictures and an update. And from the sounds of it, our pup got lots of play time in with her dog and another she was watching. He is coming home happy, healthy, and tired!”

“Michelle was very nice and had great communication. She sent many pics and videos, which I love. My dog is very energetic and can be a lot and seemed to get along with her dog. Definitely would recommend”

“They were so friendly when we arrived and introduced us to all of the dogs in their house while we allowed our dog to sniff around and get comfortable in the house. We loved the pictures they sent us, because our dog looked like she was having so much fun! When it was time to take her home, they were again so friendly, but our dog didn't want to leave, which I think speaks volumes! Both our dog and us had a 5-star experience.”

“It was just a one-day visit, but everything seems to have gone perfectly. My Raz got to meet some new puppy friends and came home ready for a big old nap! Her place is clean, safe, and well set-up for hosting pets including the fenced back yard. I'm giving five stars and highly recommend Elizabeth for the La Marque/General Galveston, TX area.”

“Laura is super friendly and responsive. Our pup was very comfortable when we left her and seemed happy & like she had a great day of play when we picked her up. We will definitely be going back to Laura when we need a sitter again.”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs most of my life. I am also experienced with cats. I am ready to meet every need your pet requires. Jonah is going to college so I am only taking return customers. Our schedule varies but pups will be alone during most days of the work week. My husband and I will give them lots of love other than that. Weekends are preferable during the school year. During the summer, we are flexible and home during the day. I have medium sized fenced in yard. I take morning and evening walks. There is a nice open field right by my house if a dog requires more exercise.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
