We enlisted the services of Heather with the Great Woof Lodge for a vacation that was supposed to run from July 5th to July 18th. When we dropped off our babies, they were immediately herded into a corner room that was roughly 10 square foot. I saw that their outside pen had a few pieces of leftover excrement from a previous tenant covered by what looked like lime. The man that we left them with assured us that he would get the one that he saw shortly. We received only 5 updates for the 11 days we were gone. 3 of those message chains had to be initiated by us, marked by an asterisk. 6th * 7th 9th 12th * / 13th (their reply to our message on the 12th) 16th * The first message (on the 6th) showed that they were only given a single bed, the size of one of the two larger dogs. I had to message them with a request to give them enough bedding so that two of them didn't have to sleep on the floor. When messaging them on the 12th for an update, we stated that we hadn't received an update for a while. She stated that she sent pictures of their walk on that day, but it must not have gone through and she would see if she could get them sent again. She said that she was finally able to recover the photos that she supposedly sent on Saturday (which was the 11th) and proceeded to send me a photo that she already sent me on the 7th. All of these issues had me and my wife worried enough for their happiness and health that we decided that we would cut our vacation short to retrieve them. This cost us an exorbitant price to secure last minute flights from Alaska. Heather was messaged that we were en-route to retrieve our babies about 4 1/2 hours before our arrival. Our dogs were dirty (no bath was given) and scared witless from the barking of the other dogs, exacerbated by the tight quarters of the "lodge" and no sound dampening. Much more excrement had piled up in the pen, obvious that no cleaning was done of our babies' bathroom, and primary manner of getting time outside, since we had left them in Heather's care. Since we returned 2 days early, I asked Heather about how she would prefer to let Rover know about this modification to our booking. She started the work on her phone, shortly after telling me that Rover was going to CHARGE ME $108 for changing the booking. Knowing this was false, and yet still flabbergasted, I asked her to repeat what she said. She showed me her phone screen, devoid of any mention of me being charged the money, and again reiterated that I would be charged $108 dollars by Rover for the modification, and recommended that maybe I would prefer to just leave the booking alone. I just said that it seems like the right thing to do, to let Rover know what actually is happening, even if they were to charge me, knowing that her explanation wasn't true. She gave a terse "Okay, fine!" and loudly huffed as she walked off. This let me know that she was indeed privy to who would be out the $108. After getting back home, I went through our babies' retrieved items to get out their toys and medications. First off, she sent another dogs' toys home with us. (if your dog is missing a hard chew toy that resembles a T-Rex fossil, we are holding on to it). Second, I sent a brand new, full, bottle of one of our dogs' meds. I counted the pills three times and found that there were three more than there should have been for the day prior, as he gets them once at suppertime. I would not recommend Heather nor the Great Woof Lodge for anyone who loves their dogs like their children.

Provided last minute care, and our pup returned well cared for. This sitter does not provide pictures (or at least didn’t to us), so just something to be mindful of.

Heather was awesome and helpful with last minute changes. My dog looked happier coming home than other daycares I’ve tried! She was definitely worn out and sleeping alllll day when I got her home.
