Maya was older when we adopted her (11yrs old), and caring for her - feeding, walking, playing, and helping her through her senior years - taught me the importance of patience and gentleness in senior dog care. As a teenager, I also pet-sat for friends and neighbors over the summers, which gave me practice adapting to different dogs' routines and personalities. I’m a part-time graduate student and I currently work from home with the ability to work from anywhere where there’s WiFi! I’m super flexible because of this, so I can fit looking after you fur baby into my schedule quite easily. My work hours are usually between 10AM-4PM Mon-Fri and I have online classes Mondays and Thursdays from 5:30PM-8:15PM. During drop-ins and house sittings I’ll likely have my laptop with me to complete some work with regular breaks for playtime, walks, feedings, cuddles/pets, and any other necessary routine activities. :) Your dog will never be left unattended while we’re out. I pay close attention to the environment: while out with your dog, I’ll make sure to watch for any signs of distress, discomfort or anxiety. I’ll monitor interactions with other dogs closely, ensuring that things remain calm and friendly. When at home with your cat, I’ll make sure doors and windows are secure, giving them safe spaces to retreat to when they want to be left alone. At the onset of any abnormality or emergency, I will have your vet’s contact, emergency details and your contact at the ready and act swiftly and appropriately.
