“Joy was absolutely wonderful with our dog! This was our first time having a dog sitter come to our home, and Joy made the experience so comfortable and stress-free. I could tell right away that Skye was treated with so much care and love. Joy kept us updated, took great care of her during walks, and was very attentive and thoughtful. We felt completely at ease knowing Skye was in such good hands. We will definitely be rebooking her in the future and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter! 🥰🐾”

“Lynn was a godsend for my family and took amazing and very loving care of our very active golden doodle. I would not hesitate to rebook her again. She’s very trustworthy, communicative and left the house in tip top condition. She’s so personable that I can see her becoming my friend.”

About: I have experience with dogs and cats. I grew up with dogs (small and large) and have fostered one Pit Bull Terrier. I have basic dog training skills, and enjoy taking dogs for long walks. I also fostered two cats at once: one with high energy and the other being more cautious and shy. I adore animals and am always eager to educate myself on how to better care for a pet's specific needs. I do Rover part-time. I am only available after 5pm on weekdays, but am free on weekends with advance notice. I am an early riser and can check on pets in morning if preferred and needed. In client's homes, I stay in the permitted spaces I am allowed to be in. I follow the house rules and respect the privacy and space. I understand that each pet has their own routine and quirks, so I will follow care instructions carefully. I live in an apartment building with no yard, so I walked around the neighborhood with my foster dog. I also would drive to nearby parks for a change of scenery. Both cats and dogs have access to my entire apartment except for my bedroom. I do not have central AC, but will leave my window open for dogs and have a fan blowing. I've had cats previously break my window screens, so I will leave a fan blowing on hot days. Additionally. I leave an air purifier on at all times to help remove allergens from the environment. I have wooden floors.
“Juliana did a great job! I will absolutely contact her again to watch our dog. She was very prompt at communication and made sure that I stayed updated on how my dog was doing (including pictures). She left our house clean and was incredibly respectful. Thanks, Juliana!!”

About: Hi, I’m Ruth! Dogs have always been my thing. I’m the person who ends up talking to the dog at the party before I talk to the people. 😂 I have over 12 years of experience caring for pets and have worked with everything from energetic puppies to reactive dogs who need a patient and confident handler. I believe every walk should be more than just a potty break—it’s exercise, enrichment, and quality time. I genuinely love getting to know each dog’s personality, and I take pride in creating a safe, fun, and trustworthy experience for both pets and their owners. I fall in love with every dog I meet, and yours will be no exception. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I genuinely love spending time with animals. I work part-time, which gives me a flexible schedule for walks, drop-ins, and pet sitting throughout the week and weekends. I do my best to accommodate each pet parent’s needs while making sure every dog gets the attention, exercise, and care they deserve. currently provide care in my clients’ homes and neighborhoods rather than my own. I understand that many dogs feel most comfortable in their familiar environment, so I’m happy to come to you. Safety is always my top priority, and I take the time to learn each dog’s routine, personality, and needs. I’ll keep you updated along the way so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.
About: Hello! I recently lost my 14 yr old dachshund and 14 yr old shih tzu and am taking a step to share my time and space with new fur friends! Currently working from home 2-3 days per week and changes weekly. Open to coordinating schedules to align to what’s best for you and your fur baby. I have a fenced in yard with no other animals in or around us. I had my 2 dogs for 14 years and am comfortable with most anything your pet will need. Medicine, exercise, crating
“Amazing experience! Vico got back to me extremely fast on a short notice request to watch my 2 pups over a long weekend. He came to meet them before I left the next morning and the dogs loved him! Continuous updates, pictures and videos made it very easy to feel comfortable leaving my 2 boys at home. And on my way back home, after an unexpected flight cancellation, he offered to care for them the following morning outside of what I booked. It was a lifesaver. If I leave again I will be using vico again!”

“Estela was very professional and friendly towards our dog. Somehow our dog instantly bonded with her and even though he has separation anxiety, with Estela he was quite comfortable and calm. I would like to request her service again.”

“Amadita was AMAZING with our Bouzy! Incredibly accommodating and playful with her while we were away. It’s great to have a reliable sitter - will definitely book with Amadita again 😊😊”

“Tiana was really wonderful. This was the first time we had booked with her for a house sitting and pet sitting. She was professional, kind, very communicative and really took great care of our babies. She sent photos, videos and updates regularly in just 24 hours. She proactively brought in our mail. Our home and our 3 pets were very well cared for. We most certainly will book with her again and encourage you to do the same!”

About: I’m responsible, respectful, attentive, and playful with your cats & dogs!! I’ll try my best to match their energy and give them my full attention cause they’re the best! I consistently go for walks with my own kitty that I love so much!! My little familiar, my shadow, and my best friend who I’ll always love. I will make sure your animals are comfortable, happy, and feel safe! I take care of them with the best of care like I would my own family.
“Grace did a fantastic job! She sent many pictures of the pets, and we were very comfortable and relaxed while she was watching the pets. Grace kept in contact with me frequently, with any questions or concerns. The pets were very happy in the videos that she shared. We will definitely use her again.”

“I always feel very comfortable leaving Sherlock (my cat) with Yumi. I get so many pictures and know he’s getting the best care! He has also warmed up to her quickly. Yumi also makes sure that our apartment is clean when we arrive back home.”

About: For as long as I can remember, I have loved animals. I have always had at least one pet my entire life and I wouldn’t have had it any other way! During the beginning of covid, I started caring for other pets than my own and ever since, I have been pet sitting for friends and family. Looking back to my first pet care experiences, I got asked to care for my co-worker’s pets after knowing them for only a few weeks and I was, at first, a little surprised. Although in reflection, I am proud to say that I think my genuine love for animals can be sensed from the beginning. Caring for pets has never seemed difficult or like a job to me, so allow me to step in and make your life easier! I’m not in school for the time being so I am a bit more flexible but for now, a consistent routine or something for just a vacation would be more ideal as I try to figure out my summer schedule. I am always open for ideas or communicating though! I would love to hear the best way to care for your pet! I am used to animals that need medication or have special needs so I am able to suite your pets needs however they may need.
About: I have grown up around animals my whole life, including caring for cats and dogs. I’ve helped care for family dogs and raised my own cat, Salem, since he was a kitten. I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs. I’m experienced with feeding schedules, playtime, cleaning, giving attention, and creating a safe and comfortable environment for pets. I treat every animal with the same patience, love, and care I give my own. I am currently home for the summer with a flexible schedule, which allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to pet care. I can provide regular check-ins, playtime, feeding routines, and companionship while making sure each pet feels comfortable and cared for. I prioritize safety, patience, and creating a comfortable environment for every pet I care for. I follow each owner’s instructions closely, respect their home and routines, and provide updates so owners feel confident their pets are happy, safe, and receiving loving care.
About: I have been a pet lover my entire life and was a pet sitter for several years . I would be happy to travel to your home and take care of your pet and home while you are away on vacation or a business trip. I will bring in mail, water plants, rotate lights and do any other duties, within reason. Have peace of mind, while you're away knowing your home and pets will be well taken care of.
About: I grew up with dogs and have experience with puppies, rescues, seniors, and anxious pets. I build trust through patience, positive reinforcement, and lots of love, making every pet feel safe and at home. I grew up with a black lab since the day I came home from the hospital. She was a black lab who lived til 14. She passed away playing fetch up northern Minnesota due to a heart attack playing fetch in the lake. She entered heaven doing her greatest love. There has always been peace to that. In 2020 I rescued Aspen. She is a Great Pyrenees, English mastiff, and laborador retriever. She saved my walks by allowing me to take her for two hour long walks a day at a nearby regional trail during the pandemic. I taught her how to swim, pray, shake, kiss, and potty. From the teething puppy stage to the nap loving 5 year old stage, I have adored witnessing her transition through it all. Though she rests hard, she plays harder. When I moved to San Jose with my partner, Lucy, my 11 year old Maltese joined the family. She is full of eye boogers, but even more full of love and warm cuddles she loves long walks up to even 4 miles. Aside from that, I quickly made a name for myself as a dog sitter in San Jose. Through connections, I have landed opportunities to watch one elderly and one 5 year old red lab overnight in Monterey, five other primary dogs in the east bay from a 1 year old rescue lab, to a shy and night loving cat, to a 3 year old rescued German Sheppard, to a highly intelligent greyhound, and a foster Samoyed turned adopted puppy who went from shy, severely underweight and timid, to strong, smiley, and full of chatter. I currently have a very flexible schedule, which allows me to provide dependable care throughout the week. Whether your pet needs midday walks, overnight stays, or extra companionship, I can easily adapt to their routine and give them the time, attention, and exercise they deserve. I maintain your pet’s routine with walks, feeding, playtime, cuddles, medications if needed, and personalized care. I’ll also keep your home tidy and send regular photo updates.

About: Your dog’s vacation starts when you leave! I’ve been my family’s designated dog sitter for the past 8 years—and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’ve cared for my grandma’s Maltese while she’s spent months in Mexico, and I’ve also loved taking care of my sister’s German Shepherd and Goldendoodle. Big or small, fluffy or goofy, I treat every dog like family (because that’s exactly what they are). Expect lots of love, playtime, and a few extra compliments. Fair warning though…your dog might come back with a new favorite human 🙌 Currently in between jobs so definitely don’t mind spending my free time with dogs. Could do part time or full time if needed right now. I’m big on cleanliness indoors or outdoors, fitness/fun activities since I’m a fit person myself, and just enjoying quality time with any dogs

Elizabeth was AMAZING with our pets! My Maverick is not the easiest dog to come around as a stranger, but Elizabeth managed to establish a good rapport with him. She took notes during our first meet and greet which went a long way in giving us peace of mind while we were away. We came back to a spotless house, and she provided updates on the pets just the right amount… Not too often and not only when I asked. I am usually very nervous when I spend more than a few days away from the fur babies, but Elizabeth made it so easy to feel secure knowing my babies were in good hands. THANK YOU, Elizabeth! 10/10 will be booking again!

Sookie had a great time with Catherine! Catherine was kind, professional, and followed our care instructions for Sookie to the tea. She sent lots of photos and videos that eased our minds while we were away. We will be booking with her again soon! Thank you Catherine!

Savannah has been such a blessing to our family. For the first time ever, I’ve felt comfortable leaving my 16 year old dog with someone and go on a trip with my entire family. I know my dog is well taken care of with Savannah. She is loving and caring which puts my dog at ease and she is on top of communication, putting me at ease. Thank you for everything!

Vanessa was a wonderful house and pet sitter! She asked all the right questions and took such good care of our dog while we were gone. Our Paisley has a hard time being left alone and she was very considerate of that and even went the extra mile to get her to eat when she was being finicky. We received plenty of updates and she left our house looking as it was when we left. We'd book her again and our dog Paisley absolutely loved her! The cat Leela loved her too and she's pretty aloof!

Paola was right on time to pick up my puppy and sent me regular updates of everything. She accommodated my weird schedule and did it last minute with only one day notice. My puppy is only 6 months and has TONS of energy. Everything was fine in my home and she even cleaned up my puppy’s messes from being left overnight in the house..I. Would definitely use her services again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred East Foothills walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in East Foothills maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in East Foothills choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
