“Bri was exceptional! She really loved our pets like her own and sent us many updates throughout her stay! She made sure the house was well kept and the dogs loved her! We will definitely be using her services again in the future! Thank you so much bri!”

“Took great care of my pets-took them on lots of walks and cuddles! Gave me updates about them several times daily. Felt like my dogs had so much fun while I was gone. Came home to cute little photos on the counter of all of them as an extra surprise! Dog person through and through-would recommend and use again!”

I would highly recommend her. I can’t say enough good things about her.”

About: I’ve have been walking and taking care of dogs for the last 5 years now. I am available Monday’s, Tuesdays and Thursdays afternoons, Fridays and weekends. I have a fenced yard and 1 small male dog, (5.5 yrs old). I have 3 kids ( 20,18 and 15). “Phenomenal job with our 12-week old puppy and 2 cats. It was a lot of work but she sure took care of them all with lots of care. She gave me updates and followed all the instructions. Would recommend and definitely boon again!”

“I cannot say enough great things about Sophia. The first time I met her, she just was full of positive energy and kindness. Her love and passion for dogs is obvious! I consider my dog, Jack, my fourth child. He's my baby, so leaving him when I go out of town is especially tough. Knowing he's with Sophia gives me so much comfort. She treats him like he's her own, which makes me happy. While I was away, she fed him, took him on walks in the neighborhood and to the park. She bathed him, played chase with him, and brought special toys for him to play with, too. I received thorough updates and fun videos. I trust her completely and highly recommend her to take care of your sweet pet. Also, she asked a lot of questions, so she was comfortable with Jack's eating habits and schedule and daily routine. I will have no hesitation asking Sophia to take care of Jack again. And, I know he loves her, too!”

“Valentina house-sat my cats for two weeks, and she was absolutely wonderful from the moment we met. She was responsive, attentive to my cats’ needs, and consistently communicative with me throughout the stay. I noticed that both of my cats were happier and more relaxed than they’ve been with any previous sitter. She also took great care of my seedlings, which were thriving when I returned, and my home was in even better condition than when I left it. I would gladly work with her again.”

“Cali is awesome! We are so glad she stayed with our babies while we were out of town for a week. She was attentive to their needs, she accommodated our requests, and she took great care of both our house and our pups. Highly recommend working with her!”

“Andrea is a gem. She is communicative, respectful, and left our home in excellent condition. My cats are everything to me and she took wonderful care of them while I was out of town for my birthday. She also left me a sweet card and note with an update. Will definitely book with her again.”

“Patricia was great! She kept me updated throughout my trip and sent photos too! My pup was obviously comfortable with her and I came back to a happy dog and my house in great shape too. Will definitely book with her again”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Alamitos
Ashley was so great with our girls! Kind, attentive and very communicative with us while we were gone for a week and she stayed with them. We got frequent updates and photos of them, which we greatly appreciated. She is warm and friendly and very clearly cares about these pups. Look forward to booking her again!

Lily was wonderful! She kept us updated every day with texts and photos, was communicative and thoughtful with questions, and clearly won over both dogs - especially Gertie, who quickly decided that respectful boundaries were merely a suggestion. We came home to a clean house and two very happy dogs. We’d absolutely book Lily again and highly recommend her!

Ana did it again! We count on her to care for our high-energy, sometimes anxious and always loving elder Pom with attention to detail. Our house looked great when we returned home, too. Looking forward to her longer stay next month, when our Pom will be joined by her big and bouncing Labrador baby brother from another mother. Thanks Ana!!
Maya was an incredible house sitter and took great care of our elderly cat. She’s thoughtful and respectful - and clearly loved our little kitty. Her regular communication and photos made us smile and feel confident she was being well taken care of while we were away. I hope she’ll back!

I couldn’t be happier with my experience with Sophia! From start to finish, communication was excellent — I got frequent updates, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. Sophia followed my instructions to the letter, especially around Riri’s care routine, and it was clear she genuinely paid attention to the details that matter to me. Beyond the reliability, what really stood out was Sophia’s kindness and warmth — you could tell she truly cared about my dog’s comfort and happiness, not just checking a box. She also took great care of my house, leaving it spotless when I got home, which I really appreciated. I’d recommend her without hesitation for both pet and house sitting, and will absolutely be booking again. Thank you Sophia for taking such wonderful care of Riri and my home!

Becky is the most responsible pet sitter and house sitter I know. She watched our husky and our house for two weeks, and had excellent communication with her throughout. She took out our trash, left the house clean and even washed her sheets. I can't recommend her highly enough.

This is the second time we have left our baby with Cali and there is nobody I’d feel as good about leaving him with! She is exceptional in every way. She communicates with us regularly and takes care of our pup and loves him like we do. I highly recommend Cali!

Lucia stayed with Coco in our home for eight days while we were away, and I couldn't have asked for a better caregiver. Coco can be shy and anxious with new people, but Lucia was incredibly patient and allowed her to warm up at her own pace. She followed Coco's routine carefully, kept us updated regularly with thoughtful messages and photos, and gave us complete peace of mind throughout our trip. When we returned home, Coco was happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. It was obvious they had formed a special bond, and seeing how comfortable and affectionate Coco was with Lucia meant so much to us. Our home was also just as we had left it. What stands out most about Lucia is how thoughtful and attentive she is. She pays close attention to the little details, genuinely cares about your pet's comfort and well-being, and treats them as if they were her own. It's obvious that caring for animals is more than just a job to her. If you're looking for someone who is compassionate, reliable, communicative, patient, and completely trustworthy, I can't recommend Lucia highly enough. We feel incredibly fortunate to have found her and look forward to having her care for Coco again.

We recently used Leilani to take care of our puppy Leo from 5am to 8pm while we hiked Vernal Falls in Yosemite, and she did a great job. She arrived on time, took good care of Leo in our home, and kept him comfortable throughout the day. She also took him on two walks, which we really appreciated. Leo seemed happy and well cared for when we got back. We would definitely consider using her again in the future.

Diana was absolutely amazing with Winnie, I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. She was incredibly communicative, thoughtful, and clearly cared so much about her. I loved getting regular updates, and it was obvious Winnie felt comfortable and well cared for the entire time. It made being away so much easier, and I felt totally at ease throughout. She left my home spotless. I would 100% book with her again and highly, highly recommend!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Alamitos on Rover is $61.05 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of September 2026, there are 3,685 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Alamitos. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Alamitos walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Alamitos maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Alamitos choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Alamitos. On Rover:

- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
