“Janet is exceptional! From the moment we met, I felt comfortable with Janet (and so did Dar!!). We had a very nice and intentional meet and greet, and the rest is history. “Dylan was great, he is attentive and caring and took care of my pets in an exceptional manner. This is the first time I leave my pets in the care of someone else and I couldn’t be happier. He is definitely trustworthy and definitely the choice to make. My dogs were in good hands, they love him and I am forever grateful. Thank you”

“Dixie was attentive and caring towards Levi. She asked tons of questions to make sure she gave him the best care possible. I plan on using her any time I need help watching my dog!”

“Sarah took such a weight off of leaving our babies at home while we were out of state. She really went above and beyond caring for our two dogs. Our older dog had paw injuries and was in great shape under her care in no time, our puppy absolutely loved her and had a blast! She puts love into her time with your pups. I would recommend her above everyone else and will absolutely reach out again if we leave for a while again. ☺️ She is amazing!”

I was so happy every time she shared what they did on his walks, which eased my mind greatly. I will definitely rebook with Mackenzie in the future, she was great!”

About: I’ve been hands-on with dogs since I was 10, volunteering with animal shelters everywhere from Aruba to Chicago and working in dog daycares, doing walks, daily care, and all the real-life dog stuff. I currently volunteer with a wolfdog sanctuary, so big dogs, shy souls, seniors, and high-energy goofballs don’t faze me. I’m deeply empathetic by nature and truly believe dogs are my soul animal. Every dog is unique and deserves care that meets them where they are. I know how nerve-wracking it can be to leave your dog in someone else’s hands, and I take that responsibility seriously! I offer calm, patient care and consistent updates for peace of mind. I also love sending photos, because I know how much those mean to me when I'm away from my dogs! I’m a stay-at-home mom with flexible availability all days of the week/end With my son heading to daycare, my schedule has opened up and allows me to give your dog focused, unrushed care (and all the pets!). I care for pets the way I’d want someone to care for my own. I take time to learn each dog’s routine, personality, and comfort level, then adjust my approach to match. Whether I’m in my home or yours, I focus on calm energy, safety, and consistency. I follow feeding, walking, and medication instructions carefully, keep environments clean and low-stress, and always prioritize your dog’s emotional well-being alongside their physical care. I also provide thoughtful updates and photos so you can feel connected and at ease while you’re away!
“Tess was incredible! Her previous experience as a dog trainer really came in handy when meeting my boy. She was thorough in her report cards, giving plenty of updates. She even helped prevent my package from getting stolen by bringing it inside for me lol. Loved working with her and would definitely want to again for walks! Thanks again!!”

About: I have taken care of animals nearly my entire life. I grew up working on my aunt's horse ranch, I'm a volunteer advanced dog walker for the humane society, and I do volunteer animal care for wolf dogs at the wolf and wildlife rescue. I've had a lifelong love and appreciation for animals, and I have the skills & patience to make sure their needs are met. I'm currently retired from the military, so spend my day taking care of my own animals as well as volunteering at the humane society and wolf and wildlife rescue. I frequently go on neighborhood walks, and would love to share those walks with neighborhood pups. I have fully fenced yard, and over fifteen years of experience providing animal care. I have a deep love and respect for animals. I'm observant, and will be patient and attentive to any pup under my care.
About: With over 20 years of pet care experience and a background as a veterinary technician, your pet is in good hands with me. I am comfortable in medicine administration and ensure your pet stays safe, healthy, and stress-free while you are away. I have an open schedule in the summer, so I am able to spend quality time with your pet while you are away. I live a block from Bear Creek dog park and love to take dogs on walks multiple times throughout the day. Safety is my absolute priority. I maintain a structured, low stress environment, to ensure my two older children, my friendly resident cat, and your pet all coexist safely. My cat has a dedicated safe zone blocked off from guest pets if needed. My children are highly trained around animals and all interactions are 100% supervised.
“Austin was great with walking my golden retriever while I was out of town for 10 days. I would not hesitate to use him again. Thanks Austin. RC”

“Sarah has been great with my reactive dog! They’ve been going on walks and hanging out in the apartment, she’s provided consistent updates, and has been available for last minute changes. It’s nice to have someone I trust to call while living in a new city!”

About: Hi, I'm Dan! My best buddy Yama was born in January of 2019, he is now a seven year old good boy. I am a former Army infantry medic and am attending graduate school remotely from my house. I grew up on a farm in Oregon where I was surrounded with all sorts of animals from a young age. I love all animals, especially dogs. My style is fairly permissive, especially with other people's dogs, but I am clear on boundaries, redirect when needed, and give lots of love and positive energy. I don't buy into the dominance theory training methodology and am a big fan of Karen Pryor's training methods. I am happy to answer any questions you have on my philosophy. I live and work at home, so we do daily walks, play time in the backyard, mental enrichment activities, and low active / layabout sessions. I work from home full-time, so your dog is never left alone for long and always has eyes on them throughout the day. My home has a securely fenced yard, and I take introductions between dogs slowly and intentionally, reading body language carefully before giving anyone free run of the space. My seven year old dog Yama is a steady, positive presence who helps visiting dogs settle in. I use positive reinforcement exclusively because a dog that feels safe and understood is a dog that behaves safely. If anything ever seems off medically or behaviorally, I'll contact you promptly - that being said, that hasn't ever happened.

“Sarah was amazing with my pup and went out of her way to meet him in person prior to booking. She sent multiple photos of him every day, was quick to respond to my messages and great at handling him! This was my first time using Rover and I will definitely be using again!”

“Jennie was very flexible and accomodating with scheduling an initial meeting and walking our dog while we had a last minute trip out of town. He can be a handful on walks and she did really well with him! On top of that, our flight got cancelled and Jennie was nice enough to walk and feed our dog an extra night and morning before we could get home! I really appreciated that she didn't just leave him to fend for himself alone and made time in her schedule to help us out!”

Sarah was very accommodating to a last minute booking request and did great with both my frenchies! She was excellent with communication and followed all my crazy dog mom instructions to a tee. I would definitely feel comfortable recommending Sarah and booking with her again.

I couldn't dream up a more impressive dog walker than Jessica. She's prompt, she wrote the best post-walk messages to update us while we were out of town, and our dog absolutely fell in love with her. We are so so glad we were able to have her take our pup around while we were gone, it was the highlight of his day when she would come pick him up. She's super easy to work with, professional, and amazing with our giant dog. Highly recommend.

HaNui showed up on time and communicated with me throughout our booking process. She even contacted me about the extreme heat during the day and thoughtfully suggested walking Piper when it was a little cooler. HaNui is very good with dogs and Piper came home happy and calm. I highly recommend HaNui if you are looking for a responsible dog loving caregiver.

Kathryn was absolutely amazing with my dog! I was scrambling at the last second to find someone to help, and she was so so so kind. She was communicative, kind, and clearly cared so much about making sure he was comfortable and happy. I felt completely at ease knowing he was in such good hands. She went above and beyond, and I could tell my pup loved her. My pup is usually pretty anxious around new people but oh my gosh he loved Kathryn. I would 100% book with her again.

Summer has been so amazing with Henry!! I recently went back into the office for work and Summer has been helping transition Henry to being home alone for the day by walking him a few times a week. She takes him on long walks and makes sure he’s well loved and happy before she leaves. Henry has transitioned beautifully to the new schedule thanks to Summer!! She always sends us lots of cute pictures of Henry too!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
