WHERE A DOG CAN BE A DOG! :)Powers, Colorado Springs, CO

Hello all. I grew up on a farm and love all animals. I have done dog boarding, drop in's and daycare in Broomfield for 6 years (that is where my pics mostly come from) and Colorado Springs for 3 years now. I have actually done so most of my life. I am considered the best in my area, and many have gone out of their way to bring their dogs to me. As a disclaimer...some do not want to go home. Recently, my daughter Hannah has joined me in the business, and she is learning the family trade. My home is way more fun than the other bow wow places, and my motto is "We are a home away from home, where a dog can be a dog!" They are allowed on my furniture, and we play until we drop. All I ask is that your dog be potty trained and non aggressive. I am not equipped for either. If you have diapers for them, I will accept that. I only crate if your dog needs it for feeding, a bed, or a getaway from other dogs, people, etc. I generally don't like crates. I will not lock up your dogs. I am a retired nurse, so I have no problems giving meds or injections. Please do not hesitate to contact me. You won't regret it. :)

TO SAVE US BOTH TIME, PLEASE READ MY PROFILE BEFORE CONTACTING ME TO ENSURE I AM A GREAT FIT FOR YOUR DOG/s. MY PROFILE COVERS MOSTLY OF YOUR POSSIBLE QUESTIONS - THANK YOU!!!

ME:

I had dogs since I was 5 years old and my care for dogs were enhanced when we had a pet shop. I can say that I am not only a Cynophilist but generally an animal lover. Right now with my husband our usual routine for our dog would be 2 walks per day and this could be from our side street, dog parks like Eastridge, Cheyenne Meadows, Fountain Creek Regional and Bear Creek Regional Park to name a few and trusted fields where he could chase rabbits. Now that we have moved to our new house the Windmill Mesa Park is literally less than a minute away from us. He eats dog food about 2 times a day and his water bowl is always filled up. He sleeps with us and he takes a bath 1-2 times per month depending on the weather.

I perfectly understand your needs but most importantly your dog's needs. I am patient, tender and paranoid so expect your dogs to be watched closely. Like you guys I do have errands too like doing groceries or house visits so there might be an hour or two that I am not watching them. If they're good outside then they can stay out but if not they stay in the house while I'm gone. I only crate dogs when owner say so. I don't just give hugs - I also like giving massages to keep those muscles relaxed. Just like what Jones said scratch a dog and you'll find a permanent job. I also believe that De Gaulle is correct because the more I know men the more I find myself loving dogs too. ❤❤❤

Several dog activities are planned within the day depending on your dogs routine. Depending on the weather we may walk in the morning and in the afternoon, could be on the side street or dog park . Water source is always available out on the porch and in the dining area. I love sending video updates so that you will see your babies in action. For house sitting and dog boarding I normally send 3 videos per day and 1 video for daycare and if you want more or just photos no problem just let me know! My husband may or may not assist depending on his availability but recently he has been hands on and as qualified as I am.

OUR HOUSE:

We live in Security - Widefield area near Bradley Rd. roughly a minute across Windmill mesa Park and 8 mins. away from COS Airport. Our home size is about 2,026 sq. ft. on a lot of 8,990 sqft (or 0.21 acres) area where your dogs can freely walk, run and play - definitely fenced ( 6 ft. combination of vinyl and wood). There is a doggy door so that they could easily take a leak and poopie or just simply get some fresh air. They're no longer allowed to be on our bed and on the furniture but they can still be in our bedroom during sleep time or if they're too many we have a finished basement where they can all stay. We have centralized a/c and heater in case it's too hot or cold out.

MEET AND GREET:

Meet & greet is a must for me to ensure that your dog is a good fit with mine or with the other dogs currently boarding. If you're confident that your dog will get along well with other dogs then the drop-off can also be the meet and greet BUT in case your confidence failed you please be prepared for a back up sitter. It would be of great help if you'll answer the "what I would like to know about your dog field" as you send me a message.

NUMBER OF DOGS I BOARD:

I am not too much concern on how many I got because it's the camaraderie that I care about. I can take care of 1 or 2 or 7 as long as they all get along well together. I want to keep a fun, playful and worry free environment during their stay. I don't give special treatment for I believe all dogs that stays with me deserves equal attention. Mostly are repeat clients and I know their babies very well and I can tell if your dog will get along with them or not.

DROP OFF and PICK UP TIME:

Effective JULY 2018

DAYCARE:

7:00 am till 6:00 pm if you pick up your dog after 6 pm you'll be charge $2.00 per hour and if it goes beyond 9:00 pm it's considered dog boarding and fee applies.

DOG BOARDING:

Pick up your dog on the same time you dropped them off. If you drop off your dog around 8 am and you decided to pick up your dog anytime after 8 am then daycare fee will be applied or half-day fee will be applied depending on the situation. After 9 pm pick up is considered another dog boarding rate.

HOUSE SITTING:

The time I arrive in your house should be the time I would leave your house. Anytime after that, daycare or half day care rates will be applied.

*If it's not too much to ask please be prompt to the time you committed to. I understand schedule can change so please have the courtesy to at least text me the changes ahead of time than me setting aside things I have to do and wait for no one. I might be working full time at home but I have errands and chores too & scheduling is important and respecting my time is very much appreciated.

I STRICTLY DO NOT ACCEPT:

1. Purebred Pit Bulls ( my dog doesn't get along with them :( but pitbull mix is alright :)

2. Dogs that could jump our 6 ft. fence.

3. Chew stuff.

4. Digs

5. Barks excessively at everything and anything.

6. No obedience training.

7. Not house broken except puppies.

8. Not vaccinated or not updated with shots.

8. Aggressive to humans and other dogs.

OWNER'S RESPONSIBILITY:

I understand I have to look after your dog but there are circumstances like me doing chores or errands and something alike that could take away eyes off of them. Also I trust you as owners when you say they don't dig or chew things apart from their toys or not aggressive. If they do on the other hand differently then you'll be charge accordingly and will be accountable for the exact cost of the damage. Whoever is the owner of the dog who initiated the fight will be responsible for veterinary bills and claiming insurance reimbursement with Rover. I hope you understand that we would like to keep our house a home, that it's hard to maintain a nice lawn and just have a peaceful and playful dog environment.

DISCOUNTS:

I can absolutely provide a reasonable discount to my loyal/repeat clients only. This applies to regular rate and not holiday rate.

REFERRAL:

For every successful referral you get 10% off on your next booking. Please tell them to indicate your name when they message me. Discount expires in 6 months.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Moderate! Please cancel before noon time the day before the actual booking if you want your 100% refund.

MODIFICATIONS:

Got the wrong dates? Need to extend? You were charge incorrectly? Nothing to worry --- Just call Rover customer service or simply let me know and we will modify it for you :)

I do not intend to speak at length, I just want to make sure that you know everything you have to know before you contact me ;) If all is good please send me that booking request! :D

I am someone who is reliable, trustworthy and will give your pet the care it needs as if he or she were a member of my family. I have 50 years of owning dogs, cats, rodents, fish, birds, etc.

Wouldn't it be nice knowing that your pet is being taken cared of in a home setting?

My husband, Dave, and I will do that. We have a lot of love to give.

I am a calm person, easy going and Dave calls me the Pied Piper of dogs! I talk to them all the time.

The pups learn quickly that when Dave gets home from work they are going to get special attention in the form of hugs, belly rubs and ofcourse any permitted treats!!

We have one dog , Opal, she is a bichon frise. She is very friendly, does not have an enemy in the world and would love to have a playmate!

Dog Lover!Colorado Springs, CO

I have had a dog for six years (have raised him since he was a puppy). I potty trained him quickly on my own. I have kept my dog well socialized by visiting puppy playdates and taking him for many walks and romps in the park. I have dog sat many dogs over the last few years as well. I love to play with dogs and love on them. I am very organized and my communication is quick. I am reliable and responsible. I have a fenced in back yard and many dog toys and pet beds. If you have an outside dog, we have a nice quiet neighborhood, so he/she would be safe in our fully fenced yard. If you have an indoor dog, we have plenty of pet beds to keep him/her comfortable! I work from home and have a 4-year-old who loves dogs. He is very good about leaving dogs alone if I tell him to (if you're worried that your dog doesn't do well around children). I am experienced working with dogs with food allergies, since my own dog has special dog food the vet requires him to eat. I am also certified in Pet First Aid and CPR (I renew my certificate every 2 years). I would love to have the chance to watch over your precious canine!

Danny & Bonnie: Home fulltime!Security/Widefield, CO

Hi, we’re Bonnie and Danny, serving our Widefield Rover community as a team for 3+ years on Rover! We own one unaltered male lab and cats. We have a very active home-life with 3 kids, ages 2, 9 & 16. Danny and I have a special place in our hearts for the elderly and have a lot of experience administering required medications including syringe. Danny is home full-time with the human and Rover kids. Rover guests are not usually home alone for more than a few hours while running errands.

It is imperative that your pup has experience being around a toddler. I also have a 16-year-old son who helps walk Rover guests and my 9-year-old daughter helps feed them. I have cats who love dogs and are unaware that they may be in danger from a pup who has not interacted with cats.

Tank, our Labrador Retriever, is submissive and playful with 90% of Rover guests. Sometimes he has an issue with males that are larger than 70 lbs and unaltered. We can typically catch that in the meet 'n' greet right away.

Friendly Dogs WelcomePowers, Colorado Springs, CO

My husband and I both grew up around animals. We have 2 Golden Retrievers and a couple cats. Our Goldens are ages 6 and 10 and are extremely friendly. Our pets are our babies. We like to spend our time with our pets hiking and being outdoors. We love animals and are excited to take care of new dogs.

It is important to have a meet-and-greet so our pets can meet each other to ensure they get along. Since we also have cats, it's important that any dog that stays with us is cat friendly.

My husband and I both have full-time jobs. We are home all day on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

We require a kennel for your pet's comfort. Dogs can adapt more easily to strange surroundings with a familiar "security blanket", their crate.

We have a house located in Old Farm with a backyard for the dogs and a park right down the street. We play fetch at the park down the street and love to bring our dogs out for walks. We'd love to meet your dog(s)!

We hope you pick us to take care of your dog(s).

Dog lover with a fenced in yard Northeast Colorado Springs, Colorado Springs, CO

Hello! My name is Shanna, and my husband and I have a 75 pound Golden Retriever named Sadie. She is seven years old and is the happiest and friendliest dog. She would love to have friends over to play with. My husband and I live in a 5 bedroom home in Northeast Colorado Springs. We have a fenced in yard, and we live very close to several parks. We enjoy walking multiple times a day. My husband and I both work for public schools, so during the summer months we will be home all day everyday. I work about 10 minutes away so I can come home and check on the dogs during the day. Your dog will be in constant company. Growing up, we always had at least one dog, and now with my siblings having dogs, when we get together there are five dogs under one roof. My husband and I share a love for dogs, and we look forward to meeting and spoiling more dogs. I have been my friends' preferred dog sitter for years.

Why I love dog sitting

I have been a dog lover my whole life. There is something about dogs that makes me happy. There is nothing more special than coming home to a dog who greets you at the door with kisses. My mom is an animal lover, and growing up we had dogs, turtles, birds, and rabbits.

About my yard

Yes, I have a nice sized yard for the dogs. The yard is fenced in, and the backyard does have a porch as well as a grassy area for the dogs to do their business. It is a great area for the dogs to play, but I also live very close to several parks, and that is where I will take your dog to the park to play and run.

My experience administering medication

Yes, as long as I am given specific instructions.

Thank you, thank you, thank you dog families for all your patronage through the years! I have hung up my dog walking leash but I am keeping my account open so I can keep in touch with all of you. Please drop me a note about your pups once in a while. :) I promise there are many wonderful and qualified sitters and walkers on this sight, it will be easy to find a new one that will love and take care of your babies as well as I did.

There isn't a better job than spending time with dogs! I miss each and everyone of them, spending time with them wasn't really work. Once again, thank you, thank you, thank you. Kiss all those babies for me.

Loving family- large fenced yardColorado Springs, CO

We are a family of four: Dad, Mom, Girl (9yrs.), and boy (7yrs). We are all dog lovers! We don't own any dogs ourselves, but genuinely enjoy getting to know all types of dogs. Both my husband and I grew up owning dogs and dog sitting. Our kids love helping out, playing with & snuggling the pups in our care. There is usually an adult at home during the day at our house, which I'm sure your dog will appreciate. We have a big fenced-in back yard with room to run. We enjoy taking dogs on walks, going to parks, and playing fetch with them. Your dog will become part of our family while you are away. Let us love on your pup/pups when you can't! Although we generally don't allow pups on our bed, we have had quite a few smaller breed dogs sleep on our beds with us at night. :)
