I have a full time job where I am lucky enough to work from home. I do occasionally have appointments and other things that require I leave the home. For day care pups I typically make sure I am at home the whole time they are here. Boarded pups will be secured either in their crate, or separated from other dogs that are not from the same family. During the week I regularly interact with the dogs during my breaks and after work. Weekends are much more involved and I take the dogs on any errands I can and we often are in my yard together and I work on my garden.

Safety, trust & environment
I have extensive experience with special needs dogs through my past as a foster parent. Puppy mill dogs, fearful/anxious dogs, and separation anxiety are all things I have dealt with previously. My own dog currently has high medical needs. So I am well versed in special diets, pills, liquids, injections and subQ fluids. Please be advised that some medical requirements may have an extra charge due to how involved it can be. I also am certified in CPR and first aid. I am a big believer in setting dogs up for success and make sure to feed everyone separately, and reduce the potential for any conflict that may occur. Dog body language is assessed closely and I try to make sure the dogs are happy and comfortable while with me. My house is dog proofed with dog gates and places to separate dogs as needed. Every dog can have an off day or just not get along with another. I try to make sure they have their space then and a quiet place to decompress. If a dog has a specific habit such as marking, eating things, garbage rummaging etc... please let me know in advance so I can take the appropriate steps to accommodate them. My backyard is fully fenced and dog proofed. Though please let me know if they are a digger or escape artist so I can make sure to pay extra attention. I also have a camera in the yard to keep an eye on them if I physically am unable to be out there the whole time.

Information Sarah G. would like to know about your pet
During any boarding, if your pup has longer fur I will brush them to make sure they do not get matted. If you are boarding for longer than 2 weeks, and if your pup allows it, I will also clip their nails. And if they are with me for over 30 days, if they need it, I will bathe them. These are free to ensure the comfort of your pup. I am not a professional groomer, and will not cut or clip any fur. The exception is toe hair if needed. If your pup requires bathing outside of these criteria there is an additional charge. I can be pretty flexible, but please make sure you communicate things with me and I will do the same. I want your dog to be happy and stress free while in my home. So if they have any behavioral quirks, let me know. If they cannot have certain foods, or likes eating underwear or something let me know so I don't let them have free rein of the house and can dog proof everything. I may need to leave the house for an appointment or errand. If for day care, I will let you know in advance. I assume with boarded dogs they can be left alone if secured in a safe place. If this is not the case I request you communicate this to me in advance.
A typical day
I get up and let the dogs into the backyard. Then its breakfast time! I will work during the morning, getting up to stretch, talk with the dogs, and play with them periodically. During lunch I typically go for a walk. Then I work some more. In the evenings we're pretty low key. I do chores around the house and the dogs usually follow me around while doing them. I will often stop to cuddle with them or play, especially if I find a toy somewhere I am cleaning. If the weather is good I'm often in my backyard doing yard work. The dogs are welcome to join me as long as I am not using dangerous power tools. Sometimes we will go on a coffee run and I get some coffee while the dogs get pup cups!

Pet care experience
Located near memorial park and downtown Colorado Springs!. Ever since I was a preteen I've been pet sitting. My family has owned Shiba Inus in the past, some of the most stubborn weirdos you'll ever meet. I was such a glutton for punishment I volunteered with the Colorado Shiba Inu Resue as a foster parent. I have fostered all kinds of dogs, outgoing, timid, out of shape, extra active, and even puppy mill survivors. I am happy to take care of dogs at mostly any age. I am able to give medication, oral, injections etc. I am trained in CPR and first aid. I am also bonded and insured by Pet Sitters Associates. I work from home, so I will be able to give your pup plenty of attention. I also have a good sized fenced yard where they can chase the squirrels all they want. I have a camera out back, so if I am not able to physically be there the whole time I can keep an eye on them.
Reviews

Sarah was wonderful to work with. Lexi tends to be a little anxious when we leave her and Sarah was patient and understanding the whole time. We highly recommend Sarah and will use her again when staying in the area.

Sarah is amazing! Her house and yard are very animal centric! She is a great communicator, took great care of Nikki, and is a genuinely good person. We would definitely use her again and highly recommend her!

Sarah was amazing! So kind and absolutely saved my life when I had to drive to Colorado Springs last minute for the birth of my grandson who decided to make an earlier than expected appearance. She sent tons of pictures and updates. My fog Yeti loved her! Highly recommend! 10 out of 10!!!

It's not easy for me to leave my dogs with someone, especially someone I don't personally know, but I am so glad I was able to connect with Sarah to watch my dogs. My girls were loved and spoiled for the four days they stayed with her. You can feel the care she has for the pups she's watching through her updates and photos. Highly recommend you give her a chance when looking for trusted care for your dogs!
