About: We nicknamed our home The Dachs Inn - a weenie wonderland! We’ve cared for Dachshunds for 15 years and specialize in meeting the unique needs of this breed, including dog ramps on our furniture and deck. Our home features a dog door with all-day access to a giant backyard for potty breaks, play time, sunbathing and squirrels!!! Plush dog beds are placed through the home and a giant sectional provides the perfect spot for cuddle time. Daily walks are provided, we even have a dog stroller for senior dogs or those dachshunds suffering from IVDD. I work remotely from home full time and, along with my retired husband, provide hourly drop-in care, play dates, overnight and extended boarding in our home. Additionally, I provide home visits and walking services to families located on the west side of Colorado Springs. Other locations throughout Colorado are considered on case-by-case request for extended care in your home (5 or more days). I have three dachshunds, ages 15, 10, and under 1 year. My dog-friendly home has a fenced back yard, we feed all visiting dogs separately, and can provide daily pictures of your baby’s activities. I can also provide regular weigh-ins, medications, and teeth brushing. I am very active and love going on long walks/hikes (up to three miles) upon request. While I prefer to host only smaller dogs in our home, I am open to all breeds for care at your home - including drop-ins, walks, and house sitting. I kindly ask that all dogs are current on all vaccinations, including kennel cough. For medical emergencies, we are established at Westside Animal Hospital, The Animal Clinic of Woodland Park, and the Emergency Pet Center.

About: All of my experience has been from personal pets and pets of family/friends. My current dog, a 4 year old Samoyed named Nimbus, trained at Under the Sun and is very accepting of other dogs. I also have a three year old toddler who is great with animals. I am a stay at home parent and so I would always be here with your pet. I like to play in the backyard with the dogs and if you are comfortable with it, I could take your dog on leashed hikes. My dog has free reign of the house and yours would as well. If I did need to run a quick errand, then your dog would be welcome to join or nap with Nimbus! I am a stay at home parent for our toddler and so I would always be around. We’re have a 4 year old Samoyed who loves other dogs and would be thrilled to have a playmate. if your dog enjoys activities, then they would be welcome to come with us on quick errands and or leashed hikes. I would, of course choose activities based on your preferences. I just want to stress that your dog would be treated like part of our family! I know that I want our dog to be comfortable and happy when I’m not with him and I would make sure that yours is as well. My main focus for care is just spending time with them and making sure they are happy! I have a four year old Samoyed who loves playing in our fenced and secure backyard and going for hikes. If your dog enjoys those activities, we would love for them to join! If your dog is older and needs a more relaxed environment then we are happy to just spend time at home with them! I do have a toddler that is not yet in daycare and so visiting dogs that are comfortable around kids would bee important from our end. We spend many days at dog parks and so our daughter is comfortable and good with other dogs and cats.

About: We have taken care of neighbors, friends & family’s dogs since elementary school! Adriana used to live with seven cats while taking care of her dog, and now we share a space with both our dogs: Lobo and Bruno! Adriana works from home and has a very flexible schedule for daytime walks & unlimited doggy cuddles. Tayah works a 9-5 job during the week but manages walks/hikes in the morning and evening with our dogs. We do not work on weekends and usually go on longer hikes and spend more time at the dog park. About: I’ve had pets of my own for 15 + years. I am madly in love with cats and dogs but currently cannot have any of our own. This means that I have lots of love to give your fur baby! I work part-time as a yoga instructor and housekeeper, so I have lots of little pockets of time in my day that’s I’d love to fill with dog walks/playtime or Kitty care. When caring for pets in their own home i familiarize myself with the locations of their walking supplies, food and water status (fresh water always!), toys, and learn their favorite places to perch, vibe, or hide.

I'm home all day (Army wife life) so I have plenty of time to dedicate to your pets, whether it's playing with them or taking them on walks around the neighborhood. About: Hi, I'm Dan! My best buddy Yama was born in January of 2019, he is now a seven year old good boy. I am a former Army infantry medic and am attending graduate school remotely from my house. I grew up on a farm in Oregon where I was surrounded with all sorts of animals from a young age. I love all animals, especially dogs. My style is fairly permissive, especially with other people's dogs, but I am clear on boundaries, redirect when needed, and give lots of love and positive energy. I don't buy into the dominance theory training methodology and am a big fan of Karen Pryor's training methods. I am happy to answer any questions you have on my philosophy. I live and work at home, so we do daily walks, play time in the backyard, mental enrichment activities, and low active / layabout sessions. I work from home full-time, so your dog is never left alone for long and always has eyes on them throughout the day. My home has a securely fenced yard, and I take introductions between dogs slowly and intentionally, reading body language carefully before giving anyone free run of the space. My seven year old dog Yama is a steady, positive presence who helps visiting dogs settle in. I use positive reinforcement exclusively because a dog that feels safe and understood is a dog that behaves safely. If anything ever seems off medically or behaviorally, I'll contact you promptly - that being said, that hasn't ever happened.

“My girls loved Samantha and her family and I could tell from all the pictures I got through their stay. I went out of town for a wedding that I was participating in so I barely had time, and it was nice to see pictures of my babies when I got back to my phone. I was very nervous leaving them with 1) someone I didn't know and 2) my older girl's attitude changing around new dogs, but they took great care of them. They set up a meet & greet beforehand so we can introduce our dogs and talk through my worries so that helped calm my nerves before leaving them. From the videos I was sent, I know they engaged with them a lot as well so they weren't just fending for themselves in a new place with new dogs which is important to make sure everyone is okay. Their kid also did really well with them and they loved him. I would absolutely book with them again with more confidence the next time around.”
