About: I’ve been around dogs for as long as I can remember, but my experience really began when we moved to Colorado back in 2009. On a small plot of 5 acres my family kept dogs and horses, and as early as the age of 14 I was bucking hay not only for our animals, but for neighbors and family friends as well. I’ve taken care of dogs, horses, cats, chickens, ducks, goats and even alpacas! I have a soft spot for what some would consider „problem“ animals. As many pets as I have cared for I have yet to pick out one myself- they seem to find me. My current companion has a distant history of aggression and has bit me more than once in the past, but every day he makes me proud and proves to me that he was worth the patience. He hasn’t had an incident with aggression in over 4 years now! As a high-energy Husky breed he has pushed me to become more athletic to properly exercise him, and to invest time into learning how to communicate with dogs. Of the six queues dogs use to communicate (verbal, somatic, motion, location, eye contact and posture) his strongest is eye contact. In a game of charades, once he breaks eye contact I know I‘ve hit the mark, and he responds well on our walks to a tall, proud posture, tending to mimic with a cute little prance. I love my boy <3 I prefer volunteer work and odd jobs to traditional employment, so my schedule varies greatly depending on demand. I might take a job tending to someone’s yard or garden, feeding and playing with their pets, or cleaning their home, so I am typically able to fit a visit in about every 4-6 hours. I prefer to hit the gym Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday, and I walk my dog a minimum of twice a day, morning and night, which I will need to attend to if my roommate is unavailable. Otherwise I am available for visits, dog walks and house sitting any time or day of the week! I like to give time and attention to the animals I care for, more than just a quick visit, so I can come to know them. Plenty of care, play and exercise is my goal for walks and play dates.

About: We nicknamed our home The Dachs Inn - a weenie wonderland! We’ve cared for Dachshunds for 15 years and specialize in meeting the unique needs of this breed, including dog ramps on our furniture and deck. Our home features a dog door with all-day access to a giant backyard for potty breaks, play time, sunbathing and squirrels!!! Plush dog beds are placed through the home and a giant sectional provides the perfect spot for cuddle time. Daily walks are provided, we even have a dog stroller for senior dogs or those dachshunds suffering from IVDD. I work remotely from home full time and, along with my retired husband, provide hourly drop-in care, play dates, overnight and extended boarding in our home. Additionally, I provide home visits and walking services to families located on the west side of Colorado Springs. Other locations throughout Colorado are considered on case-by-case request for extended care in your home (5 or more days). I have three dachshunds, ages 15, 10, and under 1 year. My dog-friendly home has a fenced back yard, we feed all visiting dogs separately, and can provide daily pictures of your baby’s activities. I can also provide regular weigh-ins, medications, and teeth brushing. I am very active and love going on long walks/hikes (up to three miles) upon request. While I prefer to host only smaller dogs in our home, I am open to all breeds for care at your home - including drop-ins, walks, and house sitting. I kindly ask that all dogs are current on all vaccinations, including kennel cough. For medical emergencies, we are established at Westside Animal Hospital, The Animal Clinic of Woodland Park, and the Emergency Pet Center.

About: I have homed several dogs (puppy to senior) and have a dog of my own. I live in a great neighborhood where everyone knows my dog, and know all of theirs. I have a fully fenced corner lot, so lots of room to roam and play. Also a very active neighborhood for walking. Currently my schedule is very flexible to have time for any boarders/ visitors. It is ingrained into me to work around my dogs needs, and hopefully yours! I have a home in a corner lot that is fenced in on all sides, so lots of room to play. It’s a very safe and dog friendly neighborhood. There is very little for your pet to get into inside the home- other than dog toys :)

About: I enjoy dogs more than people. When I used to live on Guam, there was a period i was watching 4 dogs, 2 of which were mine. One happened to be a pit bull, and another happened to be rottweiler. The other 2 were medium sized. Now, that I am no longer in Guam I have 3 dogs that me and my wife take care of. I have my 2 from Guam. I havent been around all types of dogs, but I really enjoy them all. I find their different personalities and their energy levels interesting. I enjoy walking my dogs, so I think it would be fun to walk other peoples dogs. When I’m not working and time permits, i like taking my pups hiking in the mountains with me. Thank you for checking out my profile ! I walk my three girls at least five days a week. And when I have a day off, i love taking them into the mountains. Each dog is different. About: Hi, I'm Dan! My best buddy Yama was born in January of 2019, he is now a seven year old good boy. I am a former Army infantry medic and am attending graduate school remotely from my house. I grew up on a farm in Oregon where I was surrounded with all sorts of animals from a young age. I love all animals, especially dogs. My style is fairly permissive, especially with other people's dogs, but I am clear on boundaries, redirect when needed, and give lots of love and positive energy. I don't buy into the dominance theory training methodology and am a big fan of Karen Pryor's training methods. I am happy to answer any questions you have on my philosophy. I live and work at home, so we do daily walks, play time in the backyard, mental enrichment activities, and low active / layabout sessions. I work from home full-time, so your dog is never left alone for long and always has eyes on them throughout the day. My home has a securely fenced yard, and I take introductions between dogs slowly and intentionally, reading body language carefully before giving anyone free run of the space. My seven year old dog Yama is a steady, positive presence who helps visiting dogs settle in. I use positive reinforcement exclusively because a dog that feels safe and understood is a dog that behaves safely. If anything ever seems off medically or behaviorally, I'll contact you promptly - that being said, that hasn't ever happened.

I work from home and take them on many adventures so when I was looking for a pet sitter to be able to give them the level of attention and play they typically get I knew it would be a challenge. Matt and his wife are a perfect fit!! Their work schedules allow them to be home with the dogs almost always. They were kind, honest, and patient working with me when booking and sent me pictures and updates throughout the week. I could tell Raggy and Stewie were having a great time and fell right in within the new pack. I can’t thank them enough for taking care of my boys while I was away. I will be rebooking! 🫶🫶🫶”

“Rita is amazing!! We were looking for more of a family experience for our Bella, instead of the usual kennel we use because our Standard poodle is very much a family pet and loves snuggles. She had a ball at Rita’s!! Rita sent at least one photo per day and asked about Bella’s feeding because she was not eating her food initially. She truly cares for all the dogs and was wonderful at making sure she took into account our dog’s social well being also. Our Bella can be overly energetic but Rita let us come over for a meet and greet to make sure it would be a good fit. We are already booking our next visit!”
“This was a very shout overnight stay as a trial sleepover, trying to acclimate our dog to Kerry a new sitter and to get ready for the 5 night stay. She was very sweet and attentive to our pup. I think this will work out for our needs.”
