She gave him tennis balls, spoiled him with so much fetch playing and sunbathing, and he was blissfully PASSED out when I picked him up (which Maggie was also incredibly accommodating with -- my flight kept getting delayed and the drive from Denver took much longer due to weather, so I arrived later than anticipated but she was super responsive and had everything ready to go when I finally got there). Thank you for making work travel a bit less stressful and giving Cricket a fun vacay while I was gone!! :)”

With my time on Rover, I have taken care of everything from dogs to sugar gliders! I love being around animals and have been around dogs nearly all of my life. About: We nicknamed our home The Dachs Inn - a weenie wonderland! We’ve cared for Dachshunds for 15 years and specialize in meeting the unique needs of this breed, including dog ramps on our furniture and deck. Our home features a dog door with all-day access to a giant backyard for potty breaks, play time, sunbathing and squirrels!!! Plush dog beds are placed through the home and a giant sectional provides the perfect spot for cuddle time. Daily walks are provided, we even have a dog stroller for senior dogs or those dachshunds suffering from IVDD. I work remotely from home full time and, along with my retired husband, provide hourly drop-in care, play dates, overnight and extended boarding in our home. Additionally, I provide home visits and walking services to families located on the west side of Colorado Springs. Other locations throughout Colorado are considered on case-by-case request for extended care in your home (5 or more days). I have three dachshunds, ages 15, 10, and under 1 year. My dog-friendly home has a fenced back yard, we feed all visiting dogs separately, and can provide daily pictures of your baby’s activities. I can also provide regular weigh-ins, medications, and teeth brushing. I am very active and love going on long walks/hikes (up to three miles) upon request. While I prefer to host only smaller dogs in our home, I am open to all breeds for care at your home - including drop-ins, walks, and house sitting. I kindly ask that all dogs are current on all vaccinations, including kennel cough. For medical emergencies, we are established at Westside Animal Hospital, The Animal Clinic of Woodland Park, and the Emergency Pet Center.

About: Hi, I'm Dan! My best buddy Yama was born in January of 2019, he is now a seven year old good boy. I am a former Army infantry medic and am attending graduate school remotely from my house. I grew up on a farm in Oregon where I was surrounded with all sorts of animals from a young age. I love all animals, especially dogs. My style is fairly permissive, especially with other people's dogs, but I am clear on boundaries, redirect when needed, and give lots of love and positive energy. I don't buy into the dominance theory training methodology and am a big fan of Karen Pryor's training methods. I am happy to answer any questions you have on my philosophy. I live and work at home, so we do daily walks, play time in the backyard, mental enrichment activities, and low active / layabout sessions. I work from home full-time, so your dog is never left alone for long and always has eyes on them throughout the day. My home has a securely fenced yard, and I take introductions between dogs slowly and intentionally, reading body language carefully before giving anyone free run of the space. My seven year old dog Yama is a steady, positive presence who helps visiting dogs settle in. I use positive reinforcement exclusively because a dog that feels safe and understood is a dog that behaves safely. If anything ever seems off medically or behaviorally, I'll contact you promptly - that being said, that hasn't ever happened.

About: I have taken care of dogs and lots of other animals for as long as I can remember. I have grown up with large dogs my whole life. I have experience with Labs, German Shepherds and Golden Retrievers. In addition, I have taken care of friends and family dogs of all shapes and sizes from puppies to elderly dogs. About: I enjoy dogs more than people. When I used to live on Guam, there was a period i was watching 4 dogs, 2 of which were mine. One happened to be a pit bull, and another happened to be rottweiler. The other 2 were medium sized. Now, that I am no longer in Guam I have 3 dogs that me and my wife take care of. I have my 2 from Guam. I havent been around all types of dogs, but I really enjoy them all. I find their different personalities and their energy levels interesting. I enjoy walking my dogs, so I think it would be fun to walk other peoples dogs. When I’m not working and time permits, i like taking my pups hiking in the mountains with me. About: I have had dogs and cats for along time. First was pomeranian, dachshund, two golden retrievers. One golden(Nala) lived to 13 my other golden (Jude) lived to be 12. I love having a dog. About: I’ve spent my whole life surrounded by animals—growing up with five amazing dogs, two cats, and recently pet-sitting my brother’s cat and her litter of five kittens when I visit family. I’ve learned how to raise, train, and care for animals deeply and intentionally. When we had chickens, I remember training my dog to gently herd them back into the coop while my cat stood watch like a little guardian. I also recall how our dogs and cats would sense when one of my family members—whether my siblings, mom, dad, or grandma—was feeling down and would go over to comfort them. That’s when I realized how smart and intuitive animals can be when we trust and guide them. Over the years, I’ve gained experience dog-sitting for my mom’s friends, caring for my roommates’ cats, and providing care for a friend’s service dog. I’m comfortable with animals of all temperaments and needs, and I always approach each one as a unique soul with their own personality and rhythms. I also know how to bathe both dogs and cats with care and patience (yes, even the cats!). Whether it’s trail walks or quiet time at home, I’m here to ensure your pet feels safe, loved, and totally at ease. About: Hi, I'm Dan! My best buddy Yama was born in January of 2019, he is now a seven year old good boy. I am a former Army infantry medic and am attending graduate school remotely from my house. I grew up on a farm in Oregon where I was surrounded with all sorts of animals from a young age. I love all animals, especially dogs. My style is fairly permissive, especially with other people's dogs, but I am clear on boundaries, redirect when needed, and give lots of love and positive energy. I don't buy into the dominance theory training methodology and am a big fan of Karen Pryor's training methods. I am happy to answer any questions you have on my philosophy. I live and work at home, so we do daily walks, play time in the backyard, mental enrichment activities, and low active / layabout sessions. I work from home full-time, so your dog is never left alone for long and always has eyes on them throughout the day. My home has a securely fenced yard, and I take introductions between dogs slowly and intentionally, reading body language carefully before giving anyone free run of the space. My seven year old dog Yama is a steady, positive presence who helps visiting dogs settle in. I use positive reinforcement exclusively because a dog that feels safe and understood is a dog that behaves safely. If anything ever seems off medically or behaviorally, I'll contact you promptly - that being said, that hasn't ever happened.

“They could not have been better! We had an emergency situation where the person we had left our dog with to dog sit started abusing our dog. Anika and her husband were so amazing and accommodating to our unique needs. They rescued our puppy from that situation and took good care of him! They even helped him remake good associations with things that he had been traumatized with. They have lovely well-behaved dogs of their own that are puppy became best friends with!
