About: We nicknamed our home The Dachs Inn - a weenie wonderland! We’ve cared for Dachshunds for 15 years and specialize in meeting the unique needs of this breed, including dog ramps on our furniture and deck. Our home features a dog door with all-day access to a giant backyard for potty breaks, play time, sunbathing and squirrels!!! Plush dog beds are placed through the home and a giant sectional provides the perfect spot for cuddle time. Daily walks are provided, we even have a dog stroller for senior dogs or those dachshunds suffering from IVDD. I work remotely from home full time and, along with my retired husband, provide hourly drop-in care, play dates, overnight and extended boarding in our home. Additionally, I provide home visits and walking services to families located on the west side of Colorado Springs. Other locations throughout Colorado are considered on case-by-case request for extended care in your home (5 or more days). I have three dachshunds, ages 15, 10, and under 1 year. My dog-friendly home has a fenced back yard, we feed all visiting dogs separately, and can provide daily pictures of your baby’s activities. I can also provide regular weigh-ins, medications, and teeth brushing. I am very active and love going on long walks/hikes (up to three miles) upon request. While I prefer to host only smaller dogs in our home, I am open to all breeds for care at your home - including drop-ins, walks, and house sitting. I kindly ask that all dogs are current on all vaccinations, including kennel cough. For medical emergencies, we are established at Westside Animal Hospital, The Animal Clinic of Woodland Park, and the Emergency Pet Center.

About: I grew up with a house full of animals, horses, birds, cats, dogs, fish, hamsters, etc. I love animals and would be thrilled to watch over yours! Growing up my mom also fostered all sorts of dogs, so I have experience with all shapes, sizes and temperaments. My pup Baldwin recently passed at almost 15yo and he was a cuddler extrodinaire - so if your pup has just been home alone and just needs some cuddles, my experience is not lacking. I only watch 1 dog at a time unless it’s 2 from the same household. I work from home so I am around all day M-F! During the hotter months I will walk the dogs early morning or late afternoon. I live near downtown Colorado Springs, I have a fenced yard, but the front fence is only about 3-4ft high. My home is only about 800sq feet but is very open.

About: A few years ago I left the full-time workforce to homeschool my son during pandemic, and we started walking dogs and cat-sitting as a side project we could do together. We’ve had an absolute blast meeting so many wonderful pups and cats. Now he’s back to in-person school and I’m back to school as well, starting on my PhD! I intend to continue walking and sitting to help with those hefty tuition payments, and my son will continue to be involved outside of school hours! (He sometimes gets jealous when I visit our favorite dogs and cats without him 😂) Rover has been exactly what we needed at exactly the right time, and I’m so happy to spend my days out enjoying the Colorado sunshine, maybe listening to a podcast or audiobook while I enjoy some good trails or neighborhood walks and feed off the great energy that comes from a dog excited to go on a walk! We tend to do cat check-ins after dinner, which gives my son a good sense of responsibility when he has to help me go through the checklist of to-do’s each visit! Our other new pandemic animal project has been fostering with the Humane Society, and we have two wonderful “foster fails” of our own - a beautiful Ragdoll cat named Yoda and a spunky little Chihuahua mix named Cocoa Puff. We also have a few backyard chickens, and we continue to foster kittens and pups regularly, which is why right now we’re only open to walking and sitting; no boarding or day care. Our lives are filled with animals and we wouldn’t have it any other way! If you entrust us to your animals I can guarantee a high level of care. I take the responsibility seriously, and teach my son to as well. For dogs, we generally start with a walk around your neighborhood the first time or two just to get accustomed to the dogs (and let them get accustomed to us!); and then, with your permission, after a few neighborhood walks, we’d love to load your pup(s) into the car and hit our favorite local trails. Warning - they may (/will) get a bit dirty! On weekdays, I love to do longer dog walks while my son is in school. He’s completely happy to join in on walks after school or on weekends, but either our pace will be a bit slower (we love to geocache to make things a bit more interesting though!) or we’ll look for a playground so he can entertain himself and play with other kids midwalk while I do a few loop with the dogs. Cat check-ins are great for after dinner time in our schedule, but if you have more specific time needs, let me know and we’ll likely be able to make it work! One thing that is really difficult for us is anytime between 7:30pm and 7:30am. In a pinch, I can make it work; but those are generally sleep hours for my son, and I’m a single mama so we really shouldn’t commit to check-ins or walks after 7:30pm or before 7:30am. At this time we only offer boarding to existing clients. Generally, if I’ve started to regularly walk your pup, I’ll seek to introduce them to our household - we’ve got chickens, a small-breed dog, and a cat. So I’d need to know that your pup is fine with all of those stimuli before we could board them during your vacation. But we’ve successfully done it with quite a number of our other regulars!

About: Your dog will have an amazing time, im an active runner and we will be going out a lot, but if he's small then we might just stay in all day expect for potty breaks of course. I will ensure you that your dog will be treated fairly and responsibly. Your pet will be feed on schedule and we’ll groomed. No circumstances . Also, I'm really flexible on weekends and weekdays morning to evenings but i do work some days throughout the week . I think I'm the best person to be taking care of your favorite pet / pal. I’m available anytime except on special holidays such as Christmas, also I will need to be notified before hands to ensure a great visit for your pet. I have a clean 2 bedroom house with great space. I also live near a huge park and can take your pet for walks every often.

About: Hi, I'm Dan! My best buddy Yama was born in January of 2019, he is now a seven year old good boy. I am a former Army infantry medic and am attending graduate school remotely from my house. I grew up on a farm in Oregon where I was surrounded with all sorts of animals from a young age. I love all animals, especially dogs. My style is fairly permissive, especially with other people's dogs, but I am clear on boundaries, redirect when needed, and give lots of love and positive energy. I don't buy into the dominance theory training methodology and am a big fan of Karen Pryor's training methods. I am happy to answer any questions you have on my philosophy. I live and work at home, so we do daily walks, play time in the backyard, mental enrichment activities, and low active / layabout sessions. I work from home full-time, so your dog is never left alone for long and always has eyes on them throughout the day. My home has a securely fenced yard, and I take introductions between dogs slowly and intentionally, reading body language carefully before giving anyone free run of the space. My seven year old dog Yama is a steady, positive presence who helps visiting dogs settle in. I use positive reinforcement exclusively because a dog that feels safe and understood is a dog that behaves safely. About: I enjoy dogs more than people. When I used to live on Guam, there was a period i was watching 4 dogs, 2 of which were mine. One happened to be a pit bull, and another happened to be rottweiler. The other 2 were medium sized. Now, that I am no longer in Guam I have 3 dogs that me and my wife take care of. I have my 2 from Guam. I havent been around all types of dogs, but I really enjoy them all. I find their different personalities and their energy levels interesting. I enjoy walking my dogs, so I think it would be fun to walk other peoples dogs. When I’m not working and time permits, i like taking my pups hiking in the mountains with me. Different pup parents have different plans for their babies, so their rules come first. But if permitted, i would love to share the same trails I explore with our four legged partners.
About: I've taken care of/trained my dog from the age of 7 weeks. I have volunteered for animal shelters for 4 years in various roles such as behavior modification, dog walking, advanced dog walking, and taking specific dogs on hikes. I am extremely in tune with the nonverbal communication/body language of dogs and I have a certificate for the Fear Free Shelter Program. I also have experience taking care of reptiles. I'm currently in college full time but all my classes are in the morning, so the only time I am unavailable to walk dogs is from 9-11 on T/R, 9:30-2 on Mondays, and before 2 on Wednesdays. There is rarely a time I'm not available to dogsit and I'm able to spend a lot of time with animals right now as I don't have a job at the moment since I am focusing on school. I tend to spoil animals - I go out of my way to treat them like royalty. I meticulously ensure pets are safe by making sure they are supervised (especially while outdoors) and by keeping any potential hazards inaccessible. I exclusively utilize positive reinforcement to reward good behavior instead of punishing unwanted ones.
“Ken was great! Wonderful personality, enthusiastic and very caring. He walked our pups, Nukka and Jackson for 9 days while we were out of town. Ken coordinated with the two house sitters we had and changed his daily walking schedule to fit their schedules. I have taken care of my family and friends' dogs over the past twenty years and have been entrusted with both housesitting as well as walking, bathing, and administering medications. I have had many different pets growing up and housed over 30 cats in my lifetime. I do not have a fenced-in yard but I live in a more forested area of the city with many dog-friendly hiking trails so we can stretch your fur baby's legs frequently on a leash, so that's not a problem.
