About: We nicknamed our home The Dachs Inn - a weenie wonderland! We’ve cared for Dachshunds for 15 years and specialize in meeting the unique needs of this breed, including dog ramps on our furniture and deck. Our home features a dog door with all-day access to a giant backyard for potty breaks, play time, sunbathing and squirrels!!! Plush dog beds are placed through the home and a giant sectional provides the perfect spot for cuddle time. Daily walks are provided, we even have a dog stroller for senior dogs or those dachshunds suffering from IVDD. I work remotely from home full time and, along with my retired husband, provide hourly drop-in care, play dates, overnight and extended boarding in our home. Additionally, I provide home visits and walking services to families located on the west side of Colorado Springs. Other locations throughout Colorado are considered on case-by-case request for extended care in your home (5 or more days). I have three dachshunds, ages 15, 10, and under 1 year. My dog-friendly home has a fenced back yard, we feed all visiting dogs separately, and can provide daily pictures of your baby’s activities. I can also provide regular weigh-ins, medications, and teeth brushing. I am very active and love going on long walks/hikes (up to three miles) upon request. While I prefer to host only smaller dogs in our home, I am open to all breeds for care at your home - including drop-ins, walks, and house sitting. I kindly ask that all dogs are current on all vaccinations, including kennel cough. For medical emergencies, we are established at Westside Animal Hospital, The Animal Clinic of Woodland Park, and the Emergency Pet Center.

About: I grew up with a house full of animals, horses, birds, cats, dogs, fish, hamsters, etc. I love animals and would be thrilled to watch over yours! Growing up my mom also fostered all sorts of dogs, so I have experience with all shapes, sizes and temperaments. I work from home making my schedule pretty flexible to assist in your doggie caring needs. My pup Baldwin recently passed at almost 15yo and he was a cuddler extrodinaire - so if your pup has just been home alone and just needs some cuddles, my experience is not lacking. I only watch 1 dog at a time unless it’s 2 from the same household. I work from home so I am around all day M-F! During the hotter months I will walk the dogs early morning or late afternoon. I live near downtown Colorado Springs, I have a fenced yard, but the front fence is only about 3-4ft high. My home is only about 800sq feet but is very open.

I live and work at home, so we do daily walks, play time in the backyard, mental enrichment activities, and low active / layabout sessions. I work from home full-time, so your dog is never left alone for long and always has eyes on them throughout the day. My home has a securely fenced yard, and I take introductions between dogs slowly and intentionally, reading body language carefully before giving anyone free run of the space. My seven year old dog Yama is a steady, positive presence who helps visiting dogs settle in. I use positive reinforcement exclusively because a dog that feels safe and understood is a dog that behaves safely. Since Jet is a little on the anxious side, we appreciate that she also is very aware of his mood. We can tell such a difference between his stress levels when we pick him up from Rita's house vs a kennel style daycare. It's good to know he is getting lots of attention and snuggles when we are away.”
