About: I have always had a dog by my side growing up. I volunteered at my local animal shelter in high school, and I have always loved to pet sit for family and friends whenever possible. I am a full time graduate student, with classes only Tuesday-Thursday, leaving me plenty of time to care for your pets during the rest of the week! I will make sure the environment is safe when walking pets, ensuring they won’t be injured from objects on the ground or other animals. I will ensure the terrain is also not too hot or cold for their feet. I will also not let them overdo it outside!
“Cherontae is wonderful with the pups! She has picked up last minute bookings when I was in a pinch and saved the day. She is so great and sends pics of the doggos happy faces. Thanks so much Cherontae!”

About: Animals have always been a part of my life. I treat all animals with dignity and respect. I will do the same for yours. Always. My schedule it’s honestly pretty free so I’m here for you and your animals!! I am a college student but have plenty of time outside of class to take care of your pups🥳 I have a fenced backyard and two very friendly dogs! Your dogs will be well taken care of and have plenty of room to run! I also have a dog door so the dogs will always have access to the backyard when they want!
About: I have extensive experience in caring for & training dogs of all breeds, sizes, and backgrounds. I am a positive reinforcement trainer specializing in household & public manners, impulse control, & trust/confidence building. I also have extensive experience caring for reptiles and birds. I currently have 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 1 turtle at home, but have previously owned or cared for a wide variety of other animals. I also have experience administrating medication through many different methods. I truly love caring for and playing with all animals, learning their personalities, and being a safe caregiver when you can't be there. I previously had a rover caregiver account with over fifty positive reviews, but during COVID I had to readjust and after years of a dormant acount, it was disabled. I currently have a semi-open work schedule with mornings and afternoons open every day, and evenings available Th-Su. I take my bookings extremely seriously. You can trust that if I accept a booking, even outside my regular availability, that I will be on time and take care of your baby to the fullest. They deserve the best!! When watching your dog in your home, I ensure safety by making sure that all exits are secure, and checking the stability if the fencing in the backyard. For a walk, or leashed potty time, I always ensure that the harness/collar & leash are secure before leaving the house & stay on alert for potential dangers while outside. It's also important to me that the walk is for the dog, not for me. As long as they aren't trying to ingest anything, I let them take their time sniffing and exploring and lead the walk, rather than I taking the lead.

Emily was amazing with Charlie! He’s pretty shy at first. After just one visit Charlie was already so excited to see her and ready to be walked. Emily is super kind and gentle about everything. I am thankful for the last-minute trip to check on him before the walks even started and the meet and greet before booking. Thank you so much, I really appreciate it and recommend Emily <3

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
