About: I’ve been caring for pets for most of my life. I grew up surrounded by animals, from bunnies and guinea pigs to horses and dogs, which taught me early on how different personalities and needs can be. For the past 14 years, I’ve been dog sitting both small and large breeds, building hands-on experience with everything from high-energy pups to calmer, senior dogs. I also have my own nine year old mini Maltese, Simba, who is deeply loved and well cared for, and has only strengthened my understanding of daily dog care, routines, and emotional needs. Pet care fits very naturally into my daily and weekly life. I’m a freelance filmmaker, fitness trainer, and yoga instructor, so my schedule is flexible and movement-based. Walks, outdoor time, and structured routines are already part of my day, making it easy to incorporate dog walks, playtime, feeding schedules, and check-ins. I enjoy being active and outdoors, so caring for dogs feels like a natural extension of my lifestyle rather than a side task. I always follow the pet’s usual routine as closely as possible, whether that’s in my home or the client’s home. This includes feeding schedules, walks, exercise, play, rest, and any specific instructions you provide. I keep environments clean, calm, and organized, and make sure pets feel safe, relaxed, and comfortable. I’m happy to take dogs on walks, hikes, or to dog parks if that’s something you prefer, or keep things low-key with shorter walks and companionship. My focus is always on attentive, loving, and responsible care tailored to each pet’s personality and needs.
About: I grew up in a family with lots of siblings and even more pets. I am an all around animal enthusiast so fur or scales I've got your loved one covered. I have experience with dogs of all sizes and cats of even the most challenging attitudes. I am a stay at home mother with a part time federal position. However the majority of my time is free to assist with and care for any of those in need I have a completely enclosed back yard. I also have a designated animal room for our overnight visitors. Overall I am very flexible and willing to do whatever is best to keep your pets on a comfortable schedule. Feel free to provide your own toys, bowls, and other accessories. Crates required for overnight stays.
“This was my very first experience using Rover, and thanks to Cherontae, it was absolutely exceptional! From the moment we connected, she brought such a calm, kind, and professional energy. She asked thoughtful, insightful questions and took the time to truly understand my pup Snow’s unique needs. Snow is deaf and very anxious, so I was understandably nervous—but Cherontae went above and beyond to make both of us feel completely at ease. What made her stand out was not just her care for Snow, but the attention and reassurance she gave me as a pet parent. She engaged with every one of my questions with patience and empathy, and made sure I felt supported every step of the way. The 30-minute walk was perfectly paced for Snow—Cherontae let her explore at her own speed, encouraged her curiosity, and created a space where Snow felt safe and seen. Her ability to connect with Snow was truly beautiful to witness, and it was clear she wasn't just checking a box—she was genuinely invested in making it a positive experience. I couldn’t be more grateful. Cherontae is a gem, and I will absolutely be booking with her again. If you're looking for someone compassionate, attentive, and just all-around fabulous—she’s your person!”

“Heather was great with my 6 month old lab puppy! She made sure she got enough exercise and play time, and took good care to make sure she did not overheat. She was very communicative and sent great pictures and updates during my puppy’s walks. She was very understanding when my instructions changed a few times. I will definitely use her again in the future!”

“Abigail was prompt, kind, and thorough caring for my crazy dog on a very wet day, and she even brought a package delivered to my house inside so it was not sitting in the rain. Highly recommend!”

About: My house was the "Animal House" growing up. Dogs of all sizes, cats, parrots, turtles, fishtanks, snakes, you name it, we had it. Waking up and going through the process or getting everyone food and water, meds, clean sanitary areas, the endless laundry of cat beds and dog blankets, it was all a part of my daily routine from the moment I could remember. I was always the first to volunteer to care for others pets, mostly because it was an excuse to enjoy their pet and make a new friend! I'm currently working about 30hrs a week, but I'm looking to open up my schedule to accommodate more time with animals as I can. I much prefer pets to people, and I would much rather spend my time helping animals! I do not offer services within my home currently due to the age and temperament of my senior cat. Within a client's home, of course their routine rules! If a dog is skeptical about kenneling, walking, etc., everything comes at their pace. Rushing and getting worked up won't help anyone, and patience and soft energy will help foster a much more cooperative relationship with animals of any kind. I am nervous any time I have to leave my cats in someone's care, and I want every pet to be treated the way I would want someone to treat my cats!
“Samantha is amazing! She is always on time, does a great job communicating & sending pictures! She also brings new treat for my dog which is super sweet! I’m so lucky I found her to walk my pup🥰”

About: I enjoy dogs more than people. When I used to live on Guam, there was a period i was watching 4 dogs, 2 of which were mine. One happened to be a pit bull, and another happened to be rottweiler. The other 2 were medium sized. Now, that I am no longer in Guam I have 3 dogs that me and my wife take care of. I have my 2 from Guam. I havent been around all types of dogs, but I really enjoy them all. I find their different personalities and their energy levels interesting. I enjoy walking my dogs, so I think it would be fun to walk other peoples dogs. When I’m not working and time permits, i like taking my pups hiking in the mountains with me. Thank you for checking out my profile ! I walk my three girls at least five days a week. And when I have a day off, i love taking them into the mountains. Each dog is different. Different pup parents have different plans for their babies, so their rules come first. But if permitted, i would love to share the same trails I explore with our four legged partners.
About: Dogs have been in my life for as long as I can remember. I love being active and having my dogs out in nature, but I also enjoy kicking back and chilling with them at home as well! I work part time so I have plenty of time for your kiddos! I work weekends so I have more time during the week, my shifts generally vary, but tend to be later in the evenings so I can come by in the mornings before 12pm. I have a fully fenced yard with lots of room to run! I have 2 very friendly pups that always love new friends to have chase them! I love giving treats (within moderation), running out all the energy at the park, or walks, or just playing ball in the yard.
“Maria was both consistent and confident when walking my boy. He can be a handful but I felt very comfortable after she shared her experience and sent me lots of photos of him! I will be rebooking with Maria again!”

“Silvana is very easy to work with and friendly with Dogs. Lily loves going on walks with her and she cares for her. She takes great pictures of Lily while I’m at work that helps me know she is ok and in good hands. I would recommend having Silvana take care of your dog.”

“Dixie was quick to respond and so lovely to work with. Bill seemed to have a good time on their walk. She even brought in a package that arrived. Thank you so much!”

“Alan was phenomenal, couldn't recommend him enough. He was patient with Deszi when she was hesitant to get to know him & ultimately won her over. Alan was super reliable while I was out of town and very communicative with his notes about the walk. He was great about coordinating and flexible with scheduling. Could not recommend him enough!”

“Nancy is great. Extremy professional. Excellent communication and service. Nancy clearly takes her care for your pet very seriously. We look forward to working with her in the future.”

“Mackenzie was great! This was first time I had to leave my dog home alone while I was on a trip and she took such good care of her. I got lots of pictures and she kept me up-to-date with any minor tummy aches that Mira had and followed instructions to help make her feel better. I will definitely use her again.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats from the time I could walk. My home was always filled with 2 or more dogs and cats, and they were like family. I love all animals, and have great experience with animals as puppies/kittens, all the way to more senior pets. Both are deserving of caring attention. I currently work from home so have plenty of time to spend with your pets and am able to let them out as much as they need! I live in a single family home in a safe neighborhood. I have a fenced in yard with lots of space for your pet to play. I have one dog and one cat that are very friendly and love playing.
“Anya is fantastic!!! I asked to meet with her first, to introduce her to Gus and show her the area to take him for a walk. She agreed and even took the time to come out on a Sunday. After my schedule changed, she was willing to work with me until I had a new firm schedule. I am really appreciative of that! She is very friendly, reliable, responsible and I highly recommend her. Loved getting picture updates of my fur-baby! We will absolutely be booking Anya again in the future! : )”

Emily was amazing with Charlie! He’s pretty shy at first. After just one visit Charlie was already so excited to see her and ready to be walked. Emily is super kind and gentle about everything. I am thankful for the last-minute trip to check on him before the walks even started and the meet and greet before booking. Thank you so much, I really appreciate it and recommend Emily <3

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
