Bre was a lifesaver! I had a very sick friend and needed to go out of town to see her with very little notice and Bre was able to step in to take of my kitties. She took notes at the meet-and-greet and diligently followed all of my instructions, sending me lots of pics and updates along the way. Highly recommend calling her for your pet care needs!

About: I've taken care of dogs of all sizes and ages, as young as 5 months. I've also taken care of cats and livestock. I'm happy to watch puppies or senior dogs in need of medication. I can be patient with fearful pets and give them their space. I've worked as a stall cleaner, and I've been house sitting since 2021. I've also volunteered cleaning dog kennels at a shelter. I'm starting to do some photography so I'm available majority of the day, aside from occasional errands or meetups. I can do most photography work right from your home. I do my best to keep your pets on their regular schedule. When house sitting, I follow all the client's rules and respect how the house runs, and do my best to keep to your pet's schedule. Depending on preference, I'm happy to send pictures and updates each day.

Debbie was absolutely amazing with our two girls, Lucy and Rumi! We were nervous going into this booking because Lucy takes a while to warm up to new people and tends to be anxious/vocal at first but Debbie was so patient and consistent with her that by the end of the stay, Lucy had gone from barking and hiding in the bedroom to a completely zero-bark day, letting Debbie scratch her ears and even walk her on leash. That kind of progress with an anxious dog speaks volumes about how gentle and attentive Debbie is. Rumi, our happy-go-lucky girl, was Debbie's shadow the whole time and clearly felt right at home with her too. Debbie sent detailed updates and photos after every visit, went above and beyond by offering to stay overnight so the girls wouldn't be alone for too long, and even left lights on for us before she left in case we got home after dark. Little touches like that show she genuinely cares. We came home to two happy, relaxed dogs and total peace of mind. Debbie made it possible for us to enjoy our trip without worrying, and we'll absolutely be booking her again. Highly, highly recommend!

Briana was absolutely wonderful! She was incredibly communicative throughout the entire stay, so kind, and took amazing care of all of my animals. I felt completely comfortable knowing they were in her hands, and it was obvious how much they loved her too. She truly made everything easy and stress-free while I was away. She’ll definitely be my go-to sitter moving forward, and I’ll also be using her to walk Penelope during my longer workdays. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would absolutely recommend her!

It was so wonder to enjoy our vacation knowing that our dogs were in great hands. Andrew sent photo updates and assured us that the dogs were doing great. Definitely would recommend Andrew and Rover to our friends.

My experience with Kayleen is 6 stars; she is super considerate, timely, communicates well and loves what she does! I felt confident with her taking on overnights with my 2 pups, 19 year old kitty that requires extra care and a spunky 3 year old that pulled a disappearing act. Kayleen kept me informed all the time she was pet sitting and it's obvious she was born to care for pets - and people with whom she interacts with. Super clean too! She goes above and beyond the norm and cares - A LOT. I would never hesitate to hire her again in fact I already have.

What I can say, Talon is the best person we met so far over here at Rover! He is calm, has great attention to the details, work well with our furry fellows, provided us some advices how to help our reactive dog, I can keep going and going with all good things. In short, we always hesitate when it comes to another dog sitter but if Talon will be providing service in the future - we wi be definitely in line to ask his help. Highly recommend if you need to have your pups been under great care!

About: Ive taken care of friends and families pets since high school years. I used to pet sit on a regular basis up until I moved to another state. Im currently unemployed and going to school online. If I'm not at home, I'm usually out hiking or sight seeing with my dog. We usually like to go to dog parks or try to go up in the mountains. I have a fenced in yard and my own dog who's well trained and friendly to all animals. Im always out and about going on small or long walks with my dog.

Maria is amazing! I am always really worried at first when leaving my pups with a new sitter, but she was able to instantly ease my mind with her love and care for my dogs from the first moment she met them. She makes sure to send tons of updates while you’re away to bring comfort. When I got home, I noticed that the dogs were really happy and calm. I can tell they were well taken care of. My home was left better than it was before my trip - she cleaned up and made the bed with fresh sheets before she left. I also returned to a kind handwritten note thanking me for trusting them, letting me know how much she loved the dogs, and updating me on the care she offered them. Already booked her for my next trip! Thank you Maria!

We were so pleased with Joshua. He took plenty of pictures that made us feel comforted while he looked after our fur babies. Both our babies are rescues and are very skittish around new comers, the moment Joshua came, our dogs went right up to him and allowed him to give loves, we knew right then that he would be caring for them. He was respectful and responsible during his stay. We highly recommend him to anyone !!!

We came home to well loved pups and a super happy cat! Peyten took exceptional care of our pups who are on different meds and different personalities and a German shepherd who can be an anxious and nervous girl. Our mail was brought in our house looks immaculate. Our girls locked themselves in one of our rooms and she went above and beyond getting a door key and letting us know and keeping us in the loop. That door is truly a pain so I appreciated I had ease of mind it was all worked out. Our cats space was well taken care of including the litter box. We can’t thank you enough Peyten!

cannot recommend Emily enough. She took amazing care of my dogs while I was away in the field, and having multiple dogs with different personalities and needs is not always easy. She was incredibly attentive, patient, and reliable throughout the entire time. She kept me updated, made sure the dogs were well cared for, and treated them like they were her own. It gave me a lot of peace of mind knowing they were safe, comfortable, and getting plenty of attention while I was gone. When I came home, my dogs were happy, relaxed, and clearly well looked after. As someone in the military who can be called away unexpectedly or for extended periods, dependable pet care means everything, and she absolutely exceeded expectations. I would trust her again without hesitation and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone compassionate, responsible, and genuinely caring with animals.

Over the past 3 years I’ve been using Rover, Cheyenne is by far the best sitter we’ve had. She came prepared with questions about our dogs and took notes on extra details outside of their normal routine to ensure our dogs were safe and comfortable. She also went out of her way to take care of minor house keeping while we were away. Beyond impressed with her attitude and work ethic. Would recommend for future house sitting.

FAQs for House Sitting - Security-Widefield

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Security-Widefield on Rover is $43.45 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 1,230 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Security-Widefield. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Security-Widefield walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Security-Widefield maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Security-Widefield choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Security-Widefield. On Rover:

  • 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
