About: My house was the "Animal House" growing up. Dogs of all sizes, cats, parrots, turtles, fishtanks, snakes, you name it, we had it. For a walk, or leashed potty time, I always ensure that the harness/collar & leash are secure before leaving the house & stay on alert for potential dangers while outside. It's also important to me that the walk is for the dog, not for me. As long as they aren't trying to ingest anything, I let them take their time sniffing and exploring and lead the walk, rather than I taking the lead.
