“We LOVED Dawn. She was communicative but not overbearing. She left our home spotless and we returned home to very happy pets. Couldn’t be more thankful we found her.”

“This was our very first time using Rover and Rychiegh had excellent reviews. We booked him for house sitting for 2 nights and he was an AMAZING sitter! We got updates throughout the day, without asking, with photos and messages about how all the animals were doing. The house was excellent when we returned and the dogs were happy. My dogs usually won’t eat when they’re stressed and they were fed well! Rycheigh was extremely kind, respectful, and responsive. I recommend him to anyone using Rover and especially first time users who may be intimidated by using this service for the first time. Thank you Rycheigh. We will be reaching out to you again!”

“Edyn was a wonderful Rover for my 6 yr old mini Schauzer. In fact, we've booked her again already. She's very prompt, sent photos and updates, and clearly loves dogs. Highly recommended”

“Zoe was so good with our big boy Ernie. He can be very energetic and a lot to handle sometimes, but Zoe took great care of him. She sent pictures every day and had great communication. Zoe stayed at our home and left it just the way we did. I would recommend Zoe for your next trip away. You will feel comfortable and your pets will feel safe. Thank you Zoe!”

“Came home to two happy pups. Jamie is great with our dogs (one a puppy) despite them being a little difficult when together. She updates us with pictures, communicates clearly, and is respectful of our house. Thank you, Jamie!”

“We’ve used Mario several times to take care of our dogs. He keeps in contact and always sends the best pictures. He always takes great care of our home as well. We swear it’s always cleaner than we left it!”

“Brianne was so good about keeping us updated and took great care of our dog and home while we were gone! So much safer than boarding for a dog who is reactive to other dogs.”

“Patricia is prompt and professional. We received regular updates and photos while we were away. Most importantly, Katie, our doodle, was very content when we got home. That said it all! We highly recommend Patricia!”

“Megan took amazing care of both our dogs and house while we were gone for 10 days! She provided regular updates and was extremely communicative and responsive.”

“Nora was wonderful! It is so hard to find someone to trust your animals and home to. She cared for Pebbles and our home like her own and really helped us in a bind. I felt at east and her communication is great. It’s clear Pebbles felt happy and we hope she will come back!”

“What I can say, Talon is the best person we met so far over here at Rover! He is calm, has great attention to the details, work well with our furry fellows, provided us some advices how to help our reactive dog, I can keep going and going with all good things. In short, we always hesitate when it comes to another dog sitter but if Talon will be providing service in the future - we wi be definitely in line to ask his help. Highly recommend if you need to have your pups been under great care!”

“Here’s a short, genuine review you could post: Lily took wonderful care of Chex while we were away! She was reliable, communicative, and gave us peace of mind knowing he was in great hands. We came home to a happy, well-cared-for pup, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again. Highly recommend!”

About: I have been dog sitting since I was 11! I have dog sat for many families: I began dog walking and doing overnights for the neighbors around me and my name was eventually passed around to their friends and family. I have experience with overnights, dog walking, feeding, grooming, and drop-ins. I am very reliable and committed to keeping your pet happy and healthy! I have a very flexible schedule this summer! I am working a part-time job at Colorado College and usually have 2 hour shifts. I would be able to check on your pet every 2 hours if needed! I am also in town for the foreseeable future so can do longer overnight pet sitting! In clients’ homes I never remove the pet from where they are most comfortable and try not to take over their space. I listen to their needs and try to make my presence as calming as possible in their home.
“Joshua is amazing! He did an awesome job taking great care of our 2 dogs over the weekend and went above and beyond keeping our house tidy as well. Will definitely book again in the future!”

“Hanui was incredible with our pup. She made sure that Maple was well taken care of, provided regular updates and genuinely seemed to enjoy hanging out with her. You can tell she truly loves being around dogs. We will for sure look to work with Hanui again in the future.”

“Cassandra did a wonderful job taking care of our Foxy. She was incredibly patient and kind during Foxy's stay with her. We appreciated the updates and extra care she expressed during Foxy's stay. We would definitely recommend her!”

“I can't recommend Chad enough! He watched my German Shepherd for 4 days and did an incredible job. I especially appreciated the photo updates he sent throughout the stay! It’s so helpful to see your dog happy and settled. Chad is reliable, professional, and clearly great with dogs. We’ll definitely be booking with him again!”

“David is the best! Not only did he take wonderful care of our pets while we are away, he also took great care of our home. I think our house was cleaner when we got home than when we left! He was great at communicating and sent picture updates of the animals. Couldn’t have asked for better for our pets!”

“Nicole is the absolute best!! She is my go-to dog sitter. I can tell from the pictures she sends my Poms love when she baby sits. I get updates and I know my dogs are in the best care with Nicole.”

“Brittany watched our dog with 1 day notice after a last minute trip came up. I’m so thankful for Brittany helping when we needed it! She took great care of my husky, and called me to notify me when he was sick to ask what to do. Thank you so much Brittany!!”

Nora was absolutely wonderful with our pups! She was communicative, attentive, and took such great care of them while we were away. She went above and beyond to make sure they were happy, safe, and well cared for, and we really appreciated all of the little things she did around the house as well. She kept us updated, handled everything that came up with the dogs, and clearly gave them lots of love and attention. We came home to two happy pups and a house in great shape. We would absolutely recommend Nora and will definitely have her care for our dogs again! ❤️

Extremely communicative and handled my dog’s injury so well. He took incredible care of her until I got home and kept me posted the entire time with updates and photos. Would definitely use him again to take care of my pups and recommend to anyone to utilize Rycheigh as a dog sitter

Ashley did an amazing job caring for our dog and two cats during a 10-day stay! Her communication was stellar, and she kept us reassured with multiple photo updates every day. It is clear she truly loves animals, and our pets absolutely loved her right back. She went above and beyond by leaving the house tidy, washing the sheets and towels, and even leaving treats for the pets in our fridge. We had a tiny hiccup at the end of the stay, but Ashley handled it with incredible professionalism, integrity and care. She is a deeply trustworthy sitter who is truly dedicated to doing a great job. We will definitely be using her again in the future and highly recommend her!

Paige seemed to take great care of our two doodles! She sent photos of them daily looking happy and healthy. She was able to follow the instructions for their food, which is a little out of the ordinary from most others. We appreciated her stay and are planning to use her dog/house sitting services again!

Jill is the best!! She took such good care of our dogs, and you can tell she loves what she does. She also has a great knowledge of dog behavior, which was great when introducing her to our more skittish dog. She send lots of pictures of them all snuggling and we will definitely be using her again in the future!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Manitou Springs walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Manitou Springs maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Manitou Springs choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Manitou Springs. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
