“I can't recommend Chad enough! He watched my German Shepherd for 4 days and did an incredible job. I especially appreciated the photo updates he sent throughout the stay! It’s so helpful to see your dog happy and settled. Chad is reliable, professional, and clearly great with dogs. We’ll definitely be booking with him again!”

“Julia was amazing! Her communication was stellar and she sent me pictures of our dogs daily. I know our pups loved having her stay with them and they got great exercise. “My husband and I just got back from a trip to Germany, and since we’re still pretty new to the Colorado Springs area, we were a little nervous about leaving our dogs with someone new. We found Kaitlyn on Rover, and honestly, she was great! She took care of our two dogs for a whole week and made the whole experience really easy for us. She sent regular updates and lots of pictures, which we really appreciated. It made us feel so much better being away and knowing they were doing well. We’re really glad we found her and will definitely be reaching out to her again in the future. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter! 🐾”

“Cara was absolutely fantastic. I had so much anxiety leaving him but she communicated consistently and sent daily photos and videos, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. She kept his belly full, made sure he got plenty of exercise, and treated him like her own. I came home to a happy, well-cared-for pup and it was clear he was comfortable and cared for the entire time. I would 100% book with her again. Highly recommend her!”

He kept us updated with photos and also did some extra things like taking out the trash and bringing in mail and packages really great guy and a really great Dog Sitter!”

About: I have been dog sitting since I was 11! I have dog sat for many families: I began dog walking and doing overnights for the neighbors around me and my name was eventually passed around to their friends and family. I have experience with overnights, dog walking, feeding, grooming, and drop-ins. I am very reliable and committed to keeping your pet happy and healthy! I have a very flexible schedule this summer! I am working a part-time job at Colorado College and usually have 2 hour shifts. I would be able to check on your pet every 2 hours if needed! I am also in town for the foreseeable future so can do longer overnight pet sitting! In clients’ homes I never remove the pet from where they are most comfortable and try not to take over their space. I listen to their needs and try to make my presence as calming as possible in their home.

“Edyn was a wonderful Rover for my 6 yr old mini Schauzer. In fact, we've booked her again already. She's very prompt, sent photos and updates, and clearly loves dogs. Highly recommended”

About: I have been taking care of dogs since I was little and I recently worked at a dog daycare for a year where I learned everything there is to know about caring for furry babies. Since I have my own pup, I’m used to the everyday routine of caring for her, walking her and playing with her during her sudden bursts of energy. Caring for a furry baby requires appropriate communication with the parents and a detailed understanding of what each furry baby needs. It also involves making the environment fun for everyone. I’m currently out of school and have a lot of free time to take care of your furry baby. I live close to 3 big parks and I love to take long walks with my pup every day so an addition is always welcome. When I’m caring for pets in a clients home I make sure I pay close attention on everything that needs to be done to keep your furry baby safe and healthy.
“Alexis did a great job taking care of our furry family members! This was our first time using Rover and it wont be our last! I loved that she sent us photos over the weekend and all the animals behaved themselves. One picture she sent looked like our pupper was tired out and resting. Thank you Alexis!”
“Maria was beyond amazing!!! She was even able to accommodate and stay an extra day when our flights got changed at the last minute. She kept us updated the entire time with videos and photos. She is truly a gem!!!”

Emily, I cannot thank you enough! Emily did an amazing job with my dog and cat when I went out of town. She is very trustworthy and I knew my pets and house were in good hands when I was away. My senior dog can be anxious and reactive, yet Emily took such good care of her that my dog had a great time with her new friend! My kitty has a much chiller demeanor, and they were also great together. Will for sure be hitting you up in the future Emily!

Brittany was absolutely incredible! She was great with our eight-year-old Australian Cattle Mix, Merlin. She made sure he was fed, exercised, entertained and loved. She treated our house as if it was her own and stripped our guest bed and started the dishwasher before she left. We fully plan on reaching out again if we need care for Merlin and fully recommend her to anyone looking for exceptional pet care. Thank you, Brittany!

We are very grateful for Rebecca and all she did during her 3 night stay. We know our dog’s needs were paid attention to and they were well cared for while we were gone. In addition, our house was kept in perfect condition and she left it cleaner than when she arrived. We appreciated her kind “customer service”, her professionalism, and knowing she was a trainer brought peace of mind that she could handle our young dogs. There is no hesitation to ask her back for future services.

Please read previous reviews I've posted about Ashton's caring for my two "kiddos" Winston and Gracie. More than anything, I trust, and have confidence, she will take care of my dogs, perhaps, "better than I do!" Dependable, on time, sends pictures, communicates issues etc. This last session as I was out of country for three weeks, one of my dogs became sick. Ashton handled the situation expeditiously, and resolved the issue in a timely fashion. Five Stars!

Amazing!!! Charlotte took amazing care of my older fur babies and left the house in perfect condition. From our meet and greet I knew she would be the best sitter! She was so detailed and listened to all of my dogs needs. Will definitely rebook. I am usually so stressed leaving my dogs with anyone and I was able to fully enjoy my vacation knowing they were in the best hands! 🩷

Over the past 3 years I’ve been using Rover, Cheyenne is by far the best sitter we’ve had. She came prepared with questions about our dogs and took notes on extra details outside of their normal routine to ensure our dogs were safe and comfortable. She also went out of her way to take care of minor house keeping while we were away. Beyond impressed with her attitude and work ethic. Would recommend for future house sitting.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Stratmoor walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Stratmoor maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Stratmoor choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Stratmoor. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
