“Salomé did a great job of taking care of our pups and home! She was very communicative and sent pictures of our puppies during her stay. She did a great job and would rebook her to puppy sit again.”

“Nicole got 2 paws up from our girls, and 2 thumbs up from us! What a great job she did with them. Neither dogs are used to us being away very often, and are stage 5 clingers.. one has a chronic disease and requires multiple medications as well. After meeting Nicole we felt immediate reassurance. The dogs both loved her instantly. She stayed at our house and sent us lots of photos during our trip. We have already booked her for our next adventure.”

“Cassandra was great. She took care of our dogs and house as if it were her own. She even had to get rid of a ground squirrel one of our dogs caught…above and beyond care for sure! Will definitely ask her to care for them again on our next trip.”

“Alissa was PHENOMENAL!! While we were away she consistently sent us updates on our pups and ensured they were getting tons of love and attention. I would highly recommend booking with her as she truly cares for pups as her own!”

“I cannot say enough kind things about Bre. She was absolutely outstanding. This was my first time leaving my very anxious pup with anyone outside of immediate family and I was a bit of a mess about it, but Bre put me completely at ease. Not only did she send a truly ridiculous number of photos but she sent thoughtful updates on every thing that I was worried about (and more!). She was incredibly patient and kind with my dog who took a couple nights before she fully relaxed around Bre (even playing cooking shows to help my pup feel more comfortable). And by the end of the stay, my dog even let Bre sing without getting nervous (did I mention that my pup was incredibly anxious?! Lol this was a huge feat especially given that my pup gets nervous over any raised voices or singing even if it's her people doing it). I'm so incredibly grateful to Bre. She did a stellar job and I would book her again for house sitting in a heartbeat. I've never been so comfortable being away from my dog. She made sure that my pup was safe and cared for in a way that meant I didn't have to worry. You can't go wrong with Bre. I cannot recommend her highly enough.”

“Kaedon did a great job from start to finish. Great communication, came by for a meet and greet. Great communication when we were gone and even dealt with some separation anxiety with our youngest dog. Dogs and house both look great and seem to be well taken care of. Thank you and won’t hesitate to refer you to others and to also reach out with any needs in the future. Thank you again!!”

“Kayla that was wonderful. She took good care of my dogs. Cuddled with them and sent me pictures. She seemed to really love my dogs and vice versa. I would definitely use Kayla again.”

“This is our second time using Mario for dog sitting at our home with our two golden doodles. His communication and cleanliness just really makes him stand out! We plan and hope to use him every time we’re out of town for the peace of mind. Thanks again!”

“Edyn was great and my Bulldog loved her and her Cowbell. She did a wonderful job and is coming back tomorrow for a week. We are so happy with her warmth and care for our Bulldog and home. Thank you so much Edyn!! :)”

“Peyten did a terrific job! Most importantly she took great care of my pup. She spent hours playing and walking her each day. She took great care of my home and gave constant updates. I would definitely hire her again!”

“Dana was great with Rusty. She checked in with us a couple of times a day and sent us pictures to let us know how things are going. We will definitely try to hire her again in the future when we are out of town.”

“We greatly appreciated how well Lily took care of our Chex!! She communicated and sent pics regularly which put our minds at ease. And it’s clear Chex liked her and was comfortable as she clearly ate while we were gone (it’s not uncommon for us to come back with a skinny girl from refusing to eat). Also, Lily left our house clean which was greatly appreciated!! We will definitely book with Lily again!”

“Brianne asked questions during our meet and greet to make sure she understood everything my dogs needed. She was patient with my little shy guy, who didn't take long to warm up to her and she was patient with my little old man's needs as well. I appreciated Brianne's frequent pictures and updates. :)”

“She was absolutely amazing. She communicated with us. Sent us pictures of our hyper boy. I would definitely recommend her for a sitter, and will definitely use her again!”

About: I have walked dogs consistently for six years, with house sitting, dog sitting, and cat sitting throughout. I have experience with family pets (multiple dogs, cats, hamsters, guinea pigs, and birds) since I was born! I am a college student on break and am able to take care of your pet full time! I am able to spend days, nights, and any length of time with your pet! I have a fenced yard, one dog, and two cats at home. I am only able to care for a cat in my house, but I am able to drive to your home and spend any amount of time there with your pet!

“Andrea was so great with our pups! I appreciated all of the communication while she was housesitting. I felt very confident that our instructions were being followed and we will definitely use her service again!”

“Jamie did a great job dog sitting with our two older small dogs while we were away. They were well cared for and happy when we returned. She was very respectful of our house too. We would definitely schedule her again.”

“Cara was great watching our dogs! She would always check-in and send us videos and photos of them and really kept our minds at ease. Would definitely use her again!”

“Hope was an absolute dream! She went above and beyond to make sure our pets were well taken care of while we were gone. She communicated, sent lots of pictures, and gave of daily updates. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Stratmoor
We are very grateful for Rebecca and all she did during her 3 night stay. We know our dog’s needs were paid attention to and they were well cared for while we were gone. In addition, our house was kept in perfect condition and she left it cleaner than when she arrived. We appreciated her kind “customer service”, her professionalism, and knowing she was a trainer brought peace of mind that she could handle our young dogs. There is no hesitation to ask her back for future services.

Please read previous reviews I've posted about Ashton's caring for my two "kiddos" Winston and Gracie. More than anything, I trust, and have confidence, she will take care of my dogs, perhaps, "better than I do!" Dependable, on time, sends pictures, communicates issues etc. This last session as I was out of country for three weeks, one of my dogs became sick. Ashton handled the situation expeditiously, and resolved the issue in a timely fashion. Five Stars!

Amazing!!! Charlotte took amazing care of my older fur babies and left the house in perfect condition. From our meet and greet I knew she would be the best sitter! She was so detailed and listened to all of my dogs needs. Will definitely rebook. I am usually so stressed leaving my dogs with anyone and I was able to fully enjoy my vacation knowing they were in the best hands! 🩷

Over the past 3 years I’ve been using Rover, Cheyenne is by far the best sitter we’ve had. She came prepared with questions about our dogs and took notes on extra details outside of their normal routine to ensure our dogs were safe and comfortable. She also went out of her way to take care of minor house keeping while we were away. Beyond impressed with her attitude and work ethic. Would recommend for future house sitting.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Stratmoor walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Stratmoor maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Stratmoor choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Stratmoor. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
