“Sarah was absolutely incredible. Not only did she come through last minute after another sitter cancelled with no explanation, she was also very accommodating to our schedule for the meet and greet. She was extremely professional and thorough in making sure she understood our pups needs. On top of that, she helped Molly get used to her new couch stairs and played fun enrichment games with her. She left the house spotless even though we told her not to worry about cleaning up. We knew Molly was in good hands when she warmed up to Sarah instantly as it usually takes her a few days to get used to someone new. We were will definitely be booking with Sarah again.”

“Ashley watched my two dogs for four days, and she did an amazing job. She updated me daily on how my dogs were doing. I highly recommend her, and I will definitely keep her information for future pet sitting.”

“Mya is great! Our dogs and house were well cared for while we were on vacation. She made us feel very comfortable leaving everything in her care as we left and while we were away! I highly recommend Mya!”

“Heidi was amazing!! Our fur babies absolutely loved her and we did too! She kept us updated and sent pictures and also took great care of everything! We have definitely found our perfect sitter!! ❤️❤️❤️”

“Victoria was great and flexible with our relatively last-minute booking! She sent pictures and made me feel comforted with the updates she gave that my dog was comfortable and loved. She even stripped the bed before she left which really was the extra mile. As a fellow Rover sitter myself, I’d recommend using her and plan to book again!”
“Our pets (one dog, two cats) had a great time with Dezerae! She stayed at our home to care for them while we were away for the weekend. She sent pictures and thorough updates, and was quick to respond when we messaged her. She left our apartment clean and our fur babies fed, walked and happy. We had a great experience!”
“Megan took amazing care of both our dogs and house while we were gone for 10 days! She provided regular updates and was extremely communicative and responsive.”

“Zoe was so good with our big boy Ernie. He can be very energetic and a lot to handle sometimes, but Zoe took great care of him. She sent pictures every day and had great communication. Zoe stayed at our home and left it just the way we did. I would recommend Zoe for your next trip away. You will feel comfortable and your pets will feel safe. Thank you Zoe!”

“Jamie did a great job dog sitting with our two older small dogs while we were away. They were well cared for and happy when we returned. She was very respectful of our house too. We would definitely schedule her again.”

“Edyn was great and my Bulldog loved her and her Cowbell. She did a wonderful job and is coming back tomorrow for a week. We are so happy with her warmth and care for our Bulldog and home. Thank you so much Edyn!! :)”

About: I’ve taken care of all types of animals—-dogs, hamsters, guinea pigs etc. I’m a very detail oriented person and I love when an owner gives me as much detail as possible in order to take the best care of their baby ☺️ I’ve taken care of dogs of different breeds, all sizes and dogs with different needs (helping a dog thru a weight loss journey, anxious shy dogs, dogs that require medication etc). I love animals more than I love people and it shows! Anytime I meet someone’s pet, they’re always drawn to me and I feel very honored by that! I’m extremely patient and calm with animals because I have had my own pets who had special needs. I’m currently new to the Colorado Springs area and doing gig work, so I can be available to check on your pets anytime throughout the day! I treat a clients home with the utmost respect and only go where authorized or use only what the client tells me to for their pet! I’m very attentive to pets’ safety and I will treat your baby with the love and respect that I treat my own with ☺️

“Pat was absolutely amazing! She followed all of our care instructions perfectly and went above and beyond to care for our two Great Danes. We couldn’t have asked for better!”

“Meghan did a great job with our dog and cat, as well as watching our home while we were out of town. She took our dog for walks and did a good job staying in touch. We would definitely have her take care of our pets again.”

“Becky was an awesome sitter!! She stayed at our house and took great care of our senior dog and tortoise. She was very communicative and continuously sent us photos of how they were doing. She became concerned about our dog not wanting to take his meds and found another creative way to give them to him. She also washed the linens and took out the trash and left the house spotless. We will definitely have her sit for us again. Thank you so much, Becky!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - U S A F Academy
Hailey was an exceptional dog sitter. She was extremely kind and incredibly responsible. When giving her instructions, she was very present and a great listener. She took really good care of our home, leaving it very clean and tidy. When we travel our dogs usually fall of routine and don’t alway eat as well, but Hailey brought a calming atmosphere that allowed our dogs to be as comfortable as when we are home. We will absolutely be using Hailey to sit our fur babies again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred U S A F Academy walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in U S A F Academy maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in U S A F Academy choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
