“Sarah was absolutely incredible. Not only did she come through last minute after another sitter cancelled with no explanation, she was also very accommodating to our schedule for the meet and greet. She was extremely professional and thorough in making sure she understood our pups needs. On top of that, she helped Molly get used to her new couch stairs and played fun enrichment games with her. She left the house spotless even though we told her not to worry about cleaning up. We knew Molly was in good hands when she warmed up to Sarah instantly as it usually takes her a few days to get used to someone new. We were will definitely be booking with Sarah again.”

“Mya was amazing with my pup!’ He is reactive and anxious, and she was so incredibly patient and understanding with him. She sent regular updates throughout my trip, and I honestly felt so much relief knowing he was safe and well cared for. I'm already planning to book her for my next two trips! She also took great care of my home, and I truly can't say enough great things about her. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable sitter.”

“Dezarae is amazing! We felt so comfortable leaving our German Shepard with her and our pup loved her. We were able to relax while we were away knowing our dog is in good hands. I highly recommend”

“Heidi was amazing!! Our fur babies absolutely loved her and we did too! She kept us updated and sent pictures and also took great care of everything! We have definitely found our perfect sitter!! ❤️❤️❤️”

“Amanda was amazing with my babies!! My dog is really anxious and she gave her time to warm up, was patient with her and gave her lots of snuggles! My kitten is a crazy boy and she was able to play with him as much as he needed and I knew my animals were in great hands! I came home to my apartment cleaner than I left it, and my animals were so happy!”

About: I grew up with 6 bulldogs who needed attention both medically, physically, and emotionally. I genuinely love dogs and treat all of them like my own; understanding that dogs are family! I recently graduated from high school ant Palmer Ridge and am attending HVAC school in the fall at Pikes Peak ( this program will be part-time leaving me time to care for dogs). I enjoy caring for dogs in their own environment as I have found many dogs become stressed when they have to adapt to new environments. I appreciate detailed instructions on your dogs feeding and activity level to in order to best take care of them!
About: I have provided consistent dog sitting services throughout 2023, working with repeat clients and building reliable routines with the pets in my care. I’ve cared for dogs of all ages, including puppies under one year old and senior dogs, as well as both large and small breeds. I have experience caring for cats. I also have experience caring for: hedgehogs, reptiles, horses, chickens, and ducks. In addition to pet care, I regularly handle house sitting responsibilities such as watering plants, bringing in mail, and maintaining a clean, secure home. I focus on being dependable, attentive, and respectful of both your pets’ needs and your home. I am currently working part time, but my hours at my job are flexible, and can tailor them to fit around my clients’ needs and expectations. I care for pets in their home by following their normal routines, including feeding, walks, playtime, and any specific instructions provided. I adjust care based on each pet’s age, energy level, and needs. I also keep the home tidy and secure, and can provide updates as requested.
“Daniella was very prompt and communicated well. Very nice and a pleasure to talk to. She made me feel very comfortable leaving Beau with her and sent photos throughout the night. Everything was great!”

“Ciara took very good care of both my dogs, especially with one of them needing medication and special care. She also sent updates and pictures throughout my trip. Thank you!”

“Madison was amazing. She loved our pups as her own. Sent pictures and videos when she went over. Hung out with them in the evenings to give cuddles and more ear scratches.”

About: I grew up with dogs! I l have always been asked to watch a freinds dog or a family friend’s dog! I have plenty of experience with animals, I used to foster dogs and puppies, I did that for 2 years! I stay at home mostly all the time, I mainly do school, and take care of my dog or I clean up the house. I prefer it that way. I live in a very open house, nothing that animals would hurt themselves with around, a big fenced in backyard, tons of toys and plenty of food and water
“Mirabella stayed at our home with our two dogs and fish for 5 nights, and she did an amazing job watching after our dogs. We recommend her and would definitely use her again in the future.”

“Edyn was great and my Bulldog loved her and her Cowbell. She did a wonderful job and is coming back tomorrow for a week. We are so happy with her warmth and care for our Bulldog and home. Thank you so much Edyn!! :)”

“Hi, we’re Radar and Jammer, and we’re writing this review ourselves because Maren is the best! She stayed at our house the whole time (she was doing school on her computer), so she was always here with us. We were never lonely; our new friend Maren provided constant good company. We got LOTS of walks every day, and the best part?...she let us roll in the dirt as much as we wanted. When Radar got extra muddy (classic Radar), Maren even gave her a bath, which Radar thought was a nice pampering. We felt totally safe and happy the whole time. Zero stress, zero FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) like we usually get when our humans go somewhere without us. When our humans came home, they were pleasantly surprised at how clean the house was and that our fur hadn’t piled up everywhere after a whole week. (We know that Maren kept the house tidy with the vacuum). Also, we *may* have pulled a little thread on a blanket while jumping on it (zoomies…). Maren told the humans right away and even offered to pay for it. (They said no since we’re the ones who did it and it’s just normal dog wear and tear, but still – very responsible of her.) Maren is our #1 favorite sitter, paws down. (Part of us wants to keep her a secret so she’s always free when they leave again…but our humans said there are other doggos who should get to spend time with Maren too). Highly recommend. Just maybe leave a few open dates for us? We need her too! 10/10 will invite our friend over again! - Radar & Jammer”

About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and I genuinely love caring for them. I’ve had dogs my entire life and would treat your pets with the same love, patience, and attention that I give my own. I have experience caring for dogs of all ages, from energetic puppies to sweet senior dogs, as well as dogs with special needs. I’m comfortable with medication management, maintaining feeding and potty routines, and making sure each dog’s individual needs are met. For me, pet sitting is about more than simply making sure a dog is fed and safe. I really value enrichment, play, exercise, affection, and creating an environment where your dog feels comfortable, happy, and cared for while you’re away. Whether that means a long walk, playing with their favorite toy, practicing some training, getting plenty of cuddles, or simply keeping them company, I want them to have a positive and enriching experience. Your pets are family, and I’ll treat them that way. My goal is for you to feel completely comfortable knowing that your dog is in loving, capable, and attentive hands while you’re away. I work remotely from home and have a lot of flexibility. I am available to watch your pet over the weekend where I am available 24/7. It is important to me that I am fully available while watching your pet. I live in a large home with many comfortable spaces for your pet. I provide multiple walks per day, constant snuggles and playtime. Since I do not have a fenced in yard, it is important to me that I provide ample physical exercise and outlets for energy

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Palmer Lake
Amanda and her Husband Zach were absolutely amazing pet sitters and we would 100% recommend them if you are looking for someone reliable to take care of your fur babies. I found out I needed surgery in another state at the beginning of the year and didn’t have a lot of time to find someone who could stay in our house and watch our cats. When I had reached out to Amanda, she was incredibly understanding and sympathetic about the situation and agreed to watch our kitties during the duration we were gone. It was the best decision we have ever made and we definitely plan to book with them again if we ever need help in the future or plan to go on vacation. They agreed to stay in our house to watch our kitties the whole time we were gone and even helped us manage a few things when some complications arose during my surgery. Amanda kept in touch to update us on our kitties and the house to let us know how things were going, and sent pictures of the cats consistently to show us how were doing. She even let me FaceTime the kitties while I was in the hospital which made my whole day and helped make the stay better. She went above and beyond for my family and my cats, and helped us to make sure everything at home was taken care of while we were away! The best thing is our cats absolutely loved her and Zach. She would send pictures of all three of our cats lying in their laps or cuddled up by them. They played with our cats and kept them entertained with squirrel/bird videos on the television, and took such amazing care of our precious babies. I can’t thank them enough for everything that they did, they are incredibly amazing people. She also went above and beyond while staying at our house. We have water bowls outside for the wild animals that she would fill up, even though she didn’t have to do it at all and she would check out mail, keep an eye out for packages that may come in, and overall just made sure everything was good in and around our house. If you are looking for an amazing, trustworthy, and kind pet sitter who truly cares about your animals and will take the absolute best care of them and your house, Amanda and her husband Zach are the best people for the job! We will 100% use them again in the future!

Amanda and Luke were fantastic dog and house sitters. I had a very stressful last minute trip and they made things so easy for me. They left the house spotless and our dog was so happy when we got home. She got lots of attention and walks while they stayed with her. We also got lots of cute pics. We will definitely ask them to sit for us again!

She was absolutely wonderful with my pups! She took such great care of them and kept me updated, which gave me so much peace of mind. You can tell she genuinely cares and treats pets like her own. I felt completely comfortable trusting her with my dogs and would 100% book with her again. Highly recommend!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Palmer Lake walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Palmer Lake maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Palmer Lake choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
