“Ashlee took great care of our dog! She walked him and made sure he got plenty of cuddles. She gave him extra food and walked him after our flight was delayed in case we got home too late.”

“Bailiegh was an amazing dog sitter! She was attentive, communicative, and always quick to respond. When unexpected road construction blocked access to our home, she immediately called us and worked with us to find a solution without missing a beat. It gave us great peace of mind knowing our dogs were in such capable hands. We couldn’t be happier with the care she provided and would absolutely love to use her again in the future.”

“We have used Debra multiple times now and we are always impressed with the level of care she provides. She sends pictures each day and keeps us updated on our dogs. The girls are definitely spoiled with their walks each day!”

“Sarah was absolutely incredible. Not only did she come through last minute after another sitter cancelled with no explanation, she was also very accommodating to our schedule for the meet and greet. She was extremely professional and thorough in making sure she understood our pups needs. On top of that, she helped Molly get used to her new couch stairs and played fun enrichment games with her. She left the house spotless even though we told her not to worry about cleaning up. We knew Molly was in good hands when she warmed up to Sarah instantly as it usually takes her a few days to get used to someone new. We were will definitely be booking with Sarah again.”

“Rebecca was great with Tink for our 6 day trip out of town! Tink has some behavioral issues and reactivity with others dogs, but Rebecca handled it like a professional. She even brought Tink a new toy to keep her busy in the backyard. We highly recommend Rebecca for watching your home and pets.”
About: I’ve always loved animals and truly enjoy dog walking! I grew up with many animals including dogs, fish, birds, guinea pigs, hamsters, ferrets, and even frogs! I know how much they mean to their families. I can’t wait to meet your furry friend and provide them with the love, care, and attention they deserve. My goal is to make every visit a fun, safe, and positive experience for your pet! I am a dance choreographer/teacher, so I work in the evenings. Perfect for people who work throughout the day and want someone to let their doggie get some fresh air. I just want to be able to hang out with as many doggies as I can! I am very responsible and fast to react in sticky situations. Your animals safety and well-being is always my first priority in any job! I will not only love your animal, but provide the services needed with 110% effort!
“Mya was great from the start!! She took notes at our first meeting about my dogs, and stayed in touch the whole time we were away. My house and dogs were happy and healthy when we returned!”

“Kiera was amazing! We had a mixup with our booking and she happily made it right for us, which we greatly appreciated! She took such great care of our pups and continually sent us videos and pictures! She’s the absolute best!”

About: I've been caring for animals for years, including my own two cats plus a family tortoise and helping look after other pets for friends and family. I understand that every animal has a different personality and routine, and I take the time to make them feel comfortable, safe, and cared for. I'm dependable, patient, and attentive to details like feeding schedules, exercise needs, and giving pets plenty of affection and attention. Pet care is already a regular part of my daily routine. As a cat owner, I'm used to feeding, cleaning litter boxes, monitoring behavior, and making time for play and attention every day. I have a flexible schedule and can reliably fit pet visits into my week. This is my first season using rover as I am getting ready to go to college in August. I was hoping to take care of some pets and help families as a side job this summer! My goal is to provide reliable care and give owners peace of mind while they're away.

“Courtney was reliable, showing up when she said she would (even earlier!) and she cared very much about keeping the dogs to their normal schedule & routine as much as possible. She was awesome at sending updates & caring for our dogs and house.”

“Alyssa was great! She was really responsive and great with asking questions as needed. She left the house in beautiful condition and even vacuumed so we had a less stressful return home. Our girls seemed great on our return and we will for sure be using Alyssa again!”

About: Our pets are our family and they should be treated as such ❤️. I am a full time nurse and do not need this job but I have two dogs that were very difficult and stubborn to train and I would have loved to have someone like me to be there if I went out of town or on vacation because I only ever trusted myself with them. I never went on vacation in their younger years because I was so scared someone would be mean to them or not care for them like I would if I boarded them. So I have decided to do this part time because every pet should be treated with love and care because they ARE our family ❤️🐾. I assure you, you won’t be disappointed if you trusted me with your family. I love all animals so much and quite frankly we don’t deserve their love and loyalty ❤️. Please choose me! I am working full time so I won’t be able to take all jobs but please reach out and I will try to make it happen. My schedule fluctuates so I can’t give certain days but if I am off work I will be there. I will treat your dog as you would just let me know any restrictions, dietary concerns, medications if they take them, certain ways they like things done or special things you would like done for your loved one and it will be done.
“Wow! This crew was amazing. Steven stayed at our house with the pets and Merilyn was on point for daily communication and photos. I met all three at our meet and greet where we introduced all the pets and showed them around the house. They were very thorough, taking notes and making sure they understood how to best keep the pets in thier routine. When we returned everyone was relaxed and happy. They had lots of outdoor time and naps in the big bed. The house was spotless. I would recommend them to anyone and expect we will use them again in the future!”

“Amanda was great with Ezra! She knows how to connect with dogs. Her occasional messages throughout the day were nice. I would definitely use her services again. Amanda was on time.”

“Heidi was amazing!! Our fur babies absolutely loved her and we did too! She kept us updated and sent pictures and also took great care of everything! We have definitely found our perfect sitter!! ❤️❤️❤️”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Larkspur walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Larkspur maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Larkspur choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Larkspur. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
