“We couldn’t be happier with Shaun and Rhi! They watched our two German Shepards for four days and three nights, and they did an absolutely amazing job. The dogs were so well cared for—walked, brushed, loved, meds given as instructed and downright spoiled. 🐾💛 On top of that, our house was left incredibly clean and tidy, which was such a gift to come home to. It’s clear they treated our pups like their own, and we felt total peace of mind while we were away. We highly recommend Shaun and Rhi to anyone looking for responsible, caring, and trustworthy pet sitters. Amazing!”

“As always Deveiniety takes amazing care of our mocha and our home! Cleaner than we left it and our pup is always so exhausted from all the fun! You can tell she really cares about your pets.”

“Ciara watched our small 2 yr old golden doodles for a few days and nights. She is sweet, caring, bubbly, patient, and you can see that she loves dogs. They absolutely loved her which made us feel secure that our two pups were in good hands while we were out of the state for a family funeral. We left her plenty of puppy instructions and seemed she followed them. She sent photos of our fur babies during our time away. She definitely took great care of them. We would definitely use her again for puppy sitting.”

“Kiera did a great job watching our dogs. One of our dogs is very anxious/nervous around new people and she warmed up to Keira after just a few days! We were out of town for 9 days which is a long time to be away from the dogs. She responds promptly and we felt at ease knowing they were in good hands!”

“Ashley was absolutely amazing with our fur babies! It’s always hard for us to trust anyone to care for them, but she immediately put us at ease. She was attentive, loving, and treated them like her own. We came home to happy, relaxed pups and that means everything to us. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone truly trustworthy and caring!”

“Rebecca is awesome!! We have three large dogs and they were well taken care of with lots of play time while we were away for a few days. Rebecca is communicative and sends lots of pictures with details 💕 Excellent level of care. Thank you, Rebecca!”

About: I'm a lifelong dog lover, and the bigger the dog, the better! Great Danes have been a part of my life for most of my adult years, but I have experience working with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities. In addition to being a dedicated dog owner, I'm also a former Animal Law Enforcement Officer, so I'm comfortable handling dogs in a variety of situations and understand canine behavior and safety. At the moment, I don't have any dogs of my own, which is exactly why I joined Rover. I miss having four-legged companions around and would love to get my "dog fix" by spending time caring for yours! I work a Monday through Friday office job from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., but outside of those hours, I'm available to provide dependable, loving care. Whether your pup needs a walk, a drop-in visit, or overnight companionship, I'll make sure they receive plenty of attention, affection, and care. When I'm not working, my boyfriend and I love taking advantage of everything Colorado has to offer. You'll usually find us camping, exploring the mountains, or riding our motorcycles. I value being active and outdoors, so if your dog enjoys walks, hikes, or playtime, they'll have a great companion. I can't wait to meet you and your furry family member! I work a Monday through Friday office job from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., so I'm available before and after work on weekdays, as well as on weekends. During my free time, I enjoy being active and outdoors, making it easy to incorporate walks, playtime, and quality time with pets into my schedule. I want to take the time to learn each pet's routine, personality, and any special needs so I can provide care that's as consistent as possible with what they're used to.
“Maddie is by far the best dog sitter we have ever had. She watched our two elderly goldens, one of which has seizures and we were not worried about them at all. She is amazing, she asks great questions, she sent me multiple pictures a day and was honestly the sweetest with our fur babies. I will FOR SURE be using her again and would recommend her to any person I know that has a dog. I trust her a ton, she also cleaned our house when she left! Thanks so much for watching our fur babies!”

“Reagan was amazing! She looked after our dog and two cats while we were away. She took great care of our pets and our home and we are incredibly thankful! Such a relief finding a great pet sitter!!!”

About: I have always taken care of animals and absolutely adore them ! You will not have to worry about your babies while they are with me! I am retired so any job will fit into my routine! The pets will be my priority ! I will comfort them if their parents are away ! I will rather watch animals in clients home! I will stick to the fur babies routine and will give them plenty of love and affection!
“Heidi was amazing. She is very caring professional. Her communication and follow through was exceptional! She was great with our 2 dogs and so communicative throughout our trip. I highly recommend using her.”

“Robin was great! She watched my dog and my roommates cat while we were gone for 6 days out of the country. She sent us daily pictures just as we requested. She was so patient with Penny (dog) who is nervous of strangers, and took her on a daily walk. She also took great care of the house, even taking out our trash bins on trash day. I'd recommend her to everyone, hopefully we can book her again in the future.”

“Alyssa was great! She was really responsive and great with asking questions as needed. She left the house in beautiful condition and even vacuumed so we had a less stressful return home. Our girls seemed great on our return and we will for sure be using Alyssa again!”

“Shiloh was great! My dogs absolutely loved her and got plenty of play time! It was wonderful to come home to clean home and happy doggos after a week!! Would recommend and will definitely use again!”

“Lindsay stayed at the house with our three dogs while we were out of town. She was a great house/dogsitter and we would happily use her again! The house was spotless when we returned and the dogs were very relaxed.”

About: I've been caring for animals for years, including my own two cats plus a family tortoise and helping look after other pets for friends and family. I understand that every animal has a different personality and routine, and I take the time to make them feel comfortable, safe, and cared for. I'm dependable, patient, and attentive to details like feeding schedules, exercise needs, and giving pets plenty of affection and attention. Pet care is already a regular part of my daily routine. As a cat owner, I'm used to feeding, cleaning litter boxes, monitoring behavior, and making time for play and attention every day. I have a flexible schedule and can reliably fit pet visits into my week. This is my first season using rover as I am getting ready to go to college in August. I was hoping to take care of some pets and help families as a side job this summer! My goal is to provide reliable care and give owners peace of mind while they're away.
“Thomas was exceptional!! He took wonderful care of our dogs and our home. Thomas walked our girls every day, kept me up to date with how they were doing and asked any clarifying questions he needed. I was so impressed and incredibly grateful for his care. I will definitely be rebooking!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Castle Rock
Ciara was wonderful! My dogs are attention hogs and have scrapped in the past. My youngest dog has separation anxiety as well. When she walked in the front door they went straight to her and in one second, they trusted her. When we arrived home after a week, they were happy dogs. Thank you Ciara. See you next month!!

Elizabeth was amazing! She was able to watch our two older dogs for a weekend while our normal sitter was unavailable. One of our dogs requires medication twice a day and Elizabeth kept us constantly informed on administering the medication and how the dogs were doing throughout the weekend. 10/10 would rebook again in the future!

We love having Skyler take care of Duke. She does a great job at caring for his medical needs and is so gentle with him. She also made sure he was well taken care of before she left this time since our flight got delayed. Would highly recommend and definitely at the top of our list when searching for sitters.

Easily the best dog sitter our dog has ever had!! This is our first time using Rover and we met Kayla, who truly loved our dog as her own. She came multiple times each day, playing with him and taking him on walks, sending us videos and pictures so we knew how he was doing throughout. Our dog has had some bad experiences with dog sitters in the past, and it was such a comfort knowing he was actually as happy as could be with Kayla. He’s a rescue who still displays a lot of his abandonment issues, making it hard for us to travel without him. Kayla was very understanding, coming to our house often so he could be in his usual setting and making sure to give him plenty of attention and affection. She even seemed to like his “hugs” which he gives both on command and when he’s feeling affectionate. Cannot say enough good things, we will definitely book with her again next time we need a sitter for our dog!!
Bailiegh was an amazing dog sitter! She was attentive, communicative, and always quick to respond. When unexpected road construction blocked access to our home, she immediately called us and worked with us to find a solution without missing a beat. It gave us great peace of mind knowing our dogs were in such capable hands. We couldn’t be happier with the care she provided and would absolutely love to use her again in the future.

Myla was able to accommodate a very last-minute request. My pups are rescue dogs and are very scared and nervous around new people, but my dogs loved her! When I came home, I could tell they enjoyed hanging out with a new friend and they were not stressed at all.

Hannah was amazing! I had a last minute trip scheduled and she was quick to respond, say she could watch my dog, and schedule a meet a greet. She took fantastic care of my boy and house. She regularly gave me updates and I came home to a happy dog. I would definitely book her as a sitter again!

WOW!!! Grant exceeded all of our expectations. He watched both our house and our pups with great care. As for the home, it was in better shape than when we left it. Never expected for a young man to mop our home. Amazing. As for the dogs they were extremely happy and comfortable. My only complaint is the dogs now have higher expectations for me. He walked with them and taught Enzo to run with him. Now they demand more and better exercise. Grant was phenomenal and we highly recommend him. Mature beyond his years.

We couldn’t have asked for better care for Wyatt while we were away. Amelia and Bryan did an absolutely incredible job! From the moment we left, we felt completely at ease knowing he was in such loving and capable hands. They kept us updated with messages and photos, which meant so much and really helped us relax while we were gone. Wyatt was clearly happy, comfortable, and well cared for the entire time. It’s obvious that Amelia and Bryan genuinely love animals and treat them like their own. We came home to a happy, well-cared-for pup, and we’re so grateful. We would trust them again in a heartbeat and highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, thoughtful, and attentive dog sitters!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Castle Rock on Rover is $49.95 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Castle Rock walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Castle Rock maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Castle Rock choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
