Hands down, Rhiannen and Shaun are the best dog sitting team out there. They watched our dog, Harper, while we were gone for nearly two weeks. Rhi stayed in touch and sent numerous photos and updates (her pet photography is outstanding). We could tell by the pictures that Harper was not only well-cared for, but she was having fun! She snuggled with her, played games with her and took her on daily walks. Peace of mind while being away is priceless. When we returned our home was spotless (including clean sheets on the bed) and soft music was playing. What a treat when you come home after a long day of travel. Rhi stopped by later to return a key and Harper went crazy when she saw her. They had clearly bonded. We have them booked again for our next vacation and highly recommended them to anyone who is looking for their pet (and home) to be treated with care and love.

Elizabeth was amazing! She was able to watch our two older dogs for a weekend while our normal sitter was unavailable. One of our dogs requires medication twice a day and Elizabeth kept us constantly informed on administering the medication and how the dogs were doing throughout the weekend. 10/10 would rebook again in the future!

It was such a relief to leave Roxy and Jacob under the care of Robin. She is such a caring and fun loving sitter. I don't think our babies even realized we were gone. She stayed at our house overnight and followed their daily/nightly routine without issues. Roxy and Jacob love Robin. The way Roxy acted when Robin was leaving showed me she wanted Robin to stay with us.

Ciara watched our small 2 yr old golden doodles for a few days and nights. She is sweet, caring, bubbly, patient, and you can see that she loves dogs. They absolutely loved her which made us feel secure that our two pups were in good hands while we were out of the state for a family funeral. We left her plenty of puppy instructions and seemed she followed them. She sent photos of our fur babies during our time away. She definitely took great care of them. We would definitely use her again for puppy sitting.

About: IMPORTANT NOTE: I am a teacher, so I work from 7am to 4pm. I’ve been dog sitting for many years, caring for dogs of all sizes, ages, and personality types. Whether it's a dog walk, a drop-in visit, or an overnight stay, my main goals are simple: keep your pet happy, give them plenty of love, and make sure they get great exercise! As a school teacher, I have a very predictable routine that works wonderfully for pet care! My schedule makes it super easy to take on dog walks and drop-in visits before school (5:00 AM – 6:30 AM) and after school (4:00 PM or later). My availability opens up significantly during school breaks and throughout the summer! I always ask owners for detailed notes on food restrictions, meds, routines, and house rules so I can provide the exact care your pet is used to. I also build my schedule entirely around your pet’s needs—if they’ve been home alone during the day, I make sure to spend my evenings right there with them. (Bonus: I’m always happy to bring in the mail or care for your houseplants while you're away!) I look forward to giving your dog the best experience possible! Important Safety Note: I have a severe nut allergy! I am more than happy to give your pup any nut-free treats, snacks, or medicine pockets you provide. Please just let me know in advance if your dog uses peanut butter or nut-based treats so we can use a safe alternative while I’m caring for them. Since I am a school teacher, my schedule is pretty consistent for morning, afternoon and evening care. In the morning (5:00-6:30 am) I love to get the day started by moving my body, dropping in to get the dogs fed, and making sure they're set up for success before my day begins. In the afternoon and evenings (4:00 pm onwards) I like to destress the day by making sure pets are getting exercise and time outside. I dedicate my time to extra activities, such as pet care. I aim to ensure that your pets receive focused attention, exercise, and companionship while their parents are away. On weekends and school breaks, I am more flexible to do longer walks, drop-ins, and housesitting/dog sitting appointments. I am also more available to do midday appointments. I prefer to stay at the client's home for ease of care and pet emotions. While in the home, I abide by the client's rules/desires listed before leaving. I also make sure to stick to their normal schedule as closely as possible. While staying at the house, I will happily take care of trash/recycling, mail, and house plants. Unless permission was granted beforehand, I don't let anyone into your home and enjoy the alone time with dogs.

About: Hi! My name is Rachel and I am a current veterinary student at Colorado State University and soon to be vet! I currently live in Castle Rock, CO and most of my time is spent working at a local animal hospital and taking classes, but when I am free... I love going on runs, going on hikes, playing tennis, and hanging out with friends! I have a lot of experience with animals and am comfortable walking both large and small dogs! I am excited to be on the Rover team and look forward to meeting you and your pet! I am currently finishing up graduate school so I have a lot more time during the week and on weekends to pet sit, dog walk, and board! I live in a house with a fenced backyard and have a medium sized, female spayed dog. The area I live in has a lot of beautiful and safe trails nearby. I take my dog on a long morning walk and an evening walk daily. During the day she plays outside in the backyard or inside with a plethora of toys!

Ion was very good with our Louie! He was communicative and kept us updated with pictures of their adventures. It’s not uncommon for Louie to stop eating his food. Ion noticed this and made him a doggie pizza to encourage him to eat and it worked! Louie loves to see Ion and is always happy in his company. Louie is an anxious dog but seems happy and content with Ion. He leaves our home clean and just the way we left it. We would recommend his services to anyone!

Easily the best dog sitter our dog has ever had!! This is our first time using Rover and we met Kayla, who truly loved our dog as her own. She came multiple times each day, playing with him and taking him on walks, sending us videos and pictures so we knew how he was doing throughout. Our dog has had some bad experiences with dog sitters in the past, and it was such a comfort knowing he was actually as happy as could be with Kayla. He’s a rescue who still displays a lot of his abandonment issues, making it hard for us to travel without him. Kayla was very understanding, coming to our house often so he could be in his usual setting and making sure to give him plenty of attention and affection. She even seemed to like his “hugs” which he gives both on command and when he’s feeling affectionate. Cannot say enough good things, we will definitely book with her again next time we need a sitter for our dog!!

WOW!!! Grant exceeded all of our expectations. He watched both our house and our pups with great care. As for the home, it was in better shape than when we left it. Never expected for a young man to mop our home. Amazing. As for the dogs they were extremely happy and comfortable. My only complaint is the dogs now have higher expectations for me. He walked with them and taught Enzo to run with him. Now they demand more and better exercise. Grant was phenomenal and we highly recommend him. Mature beyond his years.

We couldn’t have asked for better care for Wyatt while we were away. Amelia and Bryan did an absolutely incredible job! From the moment we left, we felt completely at ease knowing he was in such loving and capable hands. They kept us updated with messages and photos, which meant so much and really helped us relax while we were gone. Wyatt was clearly happy, comfortable, and well cared for the entire time. It’s obvious that Amelia and Bryan genuinely love animals and treat them like their own. We came home to a happy, well-cared-for pup, and we’re so grateful. We would trust them again in a heartbeat and highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, thoughtful, and attentive dog sitters!

FAQs for House Sitting - Castle Rock

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Castle Rock on Rover is $49.95 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 7,612 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Castle Rock. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Castle Rock walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Castle Rock maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Castle Rock choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Castle Rock. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
