“We can’t say enough good things about Polina! From the initial meet & greet, we felt completely at ease leaving Scoot and Maisie in her care. She took amazing care of our dogs, keeping up with their exercise and routines perfectly, and it was clear the pups felt loved. Her daily photos and updates made our trip relaxing because we knew our fur babies were being well cared for! Not only is she great with dogs, but she’s also a considerate house guest—we came home to a clean house and relaxed pups. She even went above and beyond by staying extra time when we ran late. Five stars isn't enough!”

“Jonathan always takes exceptional care of our pets and home while we travel. He is communicative while we are away and consistently dependable. We appreciate his level of care!”

“Ion was very good with our Louie! He was communicative and kept us updated with pictures of their adventures. It’s not uncommon for Louie to stop eating his food. Ion noticed this and made him a doggie pizza to encourage him to eat and it worked! Louie loves to see Ion and is always happy in his company. Louie is an anxious dog but seems happy and content with Ion. He leaves our home clean and just the way we left it. We would recommend his services to anyone!”

“Lindsay stayed at the house with our three dogs while we were out of town. She was a great house/dogsitter and we would happily use her again! The house was spotless when we returned and the dogs were very relaxed.”

“Isaiah house sat for our 2 older dogs. His communication was great and did well with dogs. Gentle manner and seems to really like dogs. Came for a free meet and greet with them prior to dog sitting. He even sent pictures of the dogs, which helps when we’re away from them. He also gave the medicine to the dogs just fine, which was really important. We plan to use him again.”

“Nikki was AMAZING!!! She sent updates every day and every time she was there. She took very good care of my cat while I was gone and made me feel so comfortable. She played with him, brushed him and made sure he got his medicine. She took the time to bond with him and was very observant of all behaviors. She also bought treats for him when he ran out. I could not recommend her more! She also took the time to get to know me on our first meeting which also made me feel so comfortable. Anyone would be lucky to have her as a sitter.”

“Blake watched our dogs and house for over two weeks while we were out of the country. He did an amazing job looking after our dogs and our house as well. The house was perfectly clean when we returned and our dogs were in great shape! Can't recommend him enough.”

“Loren was great with Moose! She was very communicative and friendly. She sent plenty of check-in messages and pictures for us - reassuring us that Moose was well taken care of and happy. We hadn't had a reliable pet sitter in the past for years and now know that we can trust Loren for our next trip!”

“Kristin did a great job with Bones. Took care of him and our apartment and was very communicative. We came home and bones was happy and everything was clean. Would use her again”

“We booked Joy at the last second when we had to leave town short notice over the holiday weekend. We really appreciate her helping out. Seems the animals (two dogs and two cats) got lots of love and attention while we were gone. She followed all the directions and sent pictures each day. Our dogs are both under and are super high energy so we know it’s not an easy task.”

“Reise did an AMAZING job watching our two Pomeranians, two cats, as well as taking care of our home while we were away. We are booked again for the Christmas holidays! Thank you again!”

“Isabella was fantastic with our pup while we were away on vacation. Communication was great, our dog was happy and calm when we got back, and our house looked amazing. Couldn’t ask for anything more!”

About: I've had pets since I was a kid of all sorts and I love getting to know the personality of each animal. Just like people, we need to learn each animal the same way. It's a goal of my life to understand them as best as I can to give them the best life possible. Animals under my care will be comfortable, loved on, and safe. I work from home, so I have all day to care for your pet's food, bathroom, and loving needs. I have no days scheduled away from the house on a weekly basis. Whether it's a walk or house sitting, I want to ensure you're comfortable with the care and decisions made to ensure your pets are happy, healthy, and satisfied! I'm not currently accepting boarding, as I'm renting in a home with a smaller dog and an older dog, I am very comfortable in the suburban environment. I enjoy talking to your pets and including them in my day. Making them feel seen and paid attention to even during days when I have work to do! I attempt to fulfill scratch requests whenever I can and love going out of my way to give some unexpected attention when they don't expect it. No one wants a sitter that solely fills the 'needs' without actively offering the 'wants' as well!
“Gessika is a wonderful pet/house sitter for our two dogs. She went above & beyond to make sure that they were happy, loved & cared for. My guys require a lot of playtime, and she fulfilled their endless desire to play fetch. She is a keeper & will be my go to whenever I need someone to care for my dogs. She left the house in good clean order, which was more than I had expected. Her communication with us was awesome, with daily texts & pictures. I think my dogs missed her when she was done sitting. They kept anticipating her return for a couple of days.”

“I cannot say enough good things about Brice. My husband and I had to travel to see my father as he’s in hospice and she made us feel so comfortable knowing our two girls were well taken care of. I would recommend Brice over and over, you will find no one better.”

About: I've worked for Petco for 2 and a half years, 1 as a manager, gaining a substantial knowledge on pet care. I have also had pets since I was very young; cats, dogs, mice, turtles, geckos. I currently have 2 cats, 2 reptiles, and a fish tank! I absolutely adore animals and have taken care of several for about 10 years. Dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, fish are no problem for me! I have experience with senior pets as well, administering medications and injections, particularly pills and insulin. I'm currently fully available to love and take care of your pets! Other than the occasional grocery run, I'll be there for your babies, giving them all the love they deserve. While I take particular care of my pets, I follow your instructions for your pets to a tee. I strongly believe in having a reliable person to take care of pets, as they are just as much family as anyone else in the household. Anything you need from me to love your pets the way they need to be I will do!

“Brianna and Sam were awesome! They provided detailed updates and lots of pictures. They gave Atlas lots of attention, walks, and play time. Atlas seemed healthy and happy when we arrived home, and the house was clean. We will definitely book them again!”

“We’ve never used a non-family pet sitter before but I am very happy to have found Sheri. She was very responsive, sending notes and pictures every day. We will definitely use her again! Thank you Sheri!”

“Emily saved us and is truly AWESOME! She rearranged her schedule to help us in an emergency situation. We were immediately comforted when showed us photos of just how happy Ben was with her :) You can entrust your dog with Emily. She goes above and beyond to make your dog feel like he's still with family. We HIGHLY recommend her!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Heritage Hills
Jonathan is the absolute best. His love and care for my dogs and animals in general is genuine and obviously in his actions and communications with me. I have a older lil man and a young maniac, he manages their VERY different needs so seemlessly. We couldnt travel without him honestly, again thank you Jonathan!!

We booked Joy at the last second when we had to leave town short notice over the holiday weekend. We really appreciate her helping out. Seems the animals (two dogs and two cats) got lots of love and attention while we were gone. She followed all the directions and sent pictures each day. Our dogs are both under and are super high energy so we know it’s not an easy task.

Kate helped us on short notice when another rover sitter left our animals alone all night and we worked with rover to find a replacement sitter. Her communication was excellent and we felt our animals were in good care. She left our house in great condition. We would absolutely trust Kate to care for our animals again and would highly recommend her to anyone needing someone to care for their fur babies.

Isabela was great! We needed a last minute dog sitter and she was able to accommodate our last minute request. She was very great at communicating, sent us updates, and took great care of our two dogs. We will definitely use her again for our in home pet care while we were away! Highly recommend Isabela!

Emily is the absolute best, and my go to person for sure. On my last trip my older dog suffered a stroke and the level of love and care Emily showed was beyond! She communicated throughout and did everything to make make Mango as happy and comfortable as she could while waiting for help. In my view she is part of the family.

This is the 2nd time Mikayla has sat for us and she always goes above and beyond! She follows instructions for care, provides pics and updates. She was quick to let us know one of our dogs had some tummy issues. We always feel comfortable leaving our pets and house in her hands. Thanks again!!

Heidi was absolutely incredible!! She sent constant updates and I could tell my dogs were so relaxed and happy. Such a great experience! Thank you so much for taking such great care of them! It took a huge weight off of our shoulders to be able to keep them home and loved.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Saya and would 100% book him again without hesitation. He was incredibly communicative, responsive and responsible from start to finish, which gave us total peace of mind while we were away. Our husky Olivia has her quirks, and he handled her with such patience and care, which we really appreciated. We received great updates and always felt at ease knowing she was in such good hands. We came home to a happy pup and a spotless home, which says everything. Saya truly goes above and beyond in every way. We’re so grateful to have found him and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy and attentive sitter!

FAQs for House Sitting - Heritage Hills
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Heritage Hills on Rover is $42.8 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 7,870 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Heritage Hills. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Heritage Hills walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Heritage Hills maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Heritage Hills choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
