“Thank you Tom for watching the pup! Tom did a great job of sending reports and pictures. Will book again with Tom. I do recommend him to anyone looking for a sitter! Wholesome guy”

“Nikki was AMAZING!!! She sent updates every day and every time she was there. She took very good care of my cat while I was gone and made me feel so comfortable. She played with him, brushed him and made sure he got his medicine. She took the time to bond with him and was very observant of all behaviors. She also bought treats for him when he ran out. I could not recommend her more! She also took the time to get to know me on our first meeting which also made me feel so comfortable. Anyone would be lucky to have her as a sitter.”

“Morgan is just amazing. Communicating was great back and forth, even when our flight plans had to change. She took excellent care of our doggies and our house. She was here with the dogs for the vast majority of the day, which was important to me. She is my go-to sitter going forward.”

“Taylor was amazing with our senior pup! She made sure our girl was cool enough with this summer heat and gave her lots of love! She sent us the cutest videos and pictures while we were away for a long trip and provided peace of mind so we could enjoy our vacation. We are so thankful we found Taylor and will be booking again!”

“We had Emily watch our 3 huskies at our house, and that’s not always an easy task. But she did a great job- they were well cared for and they had a great time. Will definitely reach out again in the future!”

“Isaiah house sat for our 2 older dogs. His communication was great and did well with dogs. Gentle manner and seems to really like dogs. Came for a free meet and greet with them prior to dog sitting. He even sent pictures of the dogs, which helps when we’re away from them. He also gave the medicine to the dogs just fine, which was really important. We plan to use him again.”

“We are so thankful Loren was available to watch our dog while we were out of town for the weekend! She was great at responding and sending us pictures/videos during her time watching her. Would recommend hiring Loren and will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Ion was prompt and attentive to detail. He stayed with our Lou and made sure he received lots of attention and his walks. He is polite and friendly and left our house clean. We were very happy with the care Ion gave Louie and will definitely use him again and recommend him to anyone.”

“Kristin did a great job with Bones. Took care of him and our apartment and was very communicative. We came home and bones was happy and everything was clean. Would use her again”

“This is the second time Polina has watched our pets, and we couldn't be more grateful. She helped keep our energetic puppy in check and sent pictures and updates daily and even helped out with some things around the house while we were gone. We highly recommend Polina for watching your pets!”

“I couldn’t even imagine a better pet-sitter! She checked in several times of day to let me know how my dogs and cat were doing, sent lots of pics and videos, and took the best care of them! Thank you so much!!!”

“Lindsay was great! She sent daily updates and photos of our dogs and took great care of them while we were away. Our dogs seemed to love her! She also left our house nice and clean. We would definitely use Lindsay again next time we need someone to watch our dogs. Thank you Lindsay!”

“Graham was great! She communicated with us and we didn’t feel like we had to worry about our dogs when we were on our trip. They seemed happy and well taken care of when we got home :) Thank you so much Graham!”

“Cole was great with our very excitable Shepard mix 2yo. Bohdi came from the shelter with no training and we’ve been working hard to help him become a good citizen, walk on a lead, not jump on people, etc. Cole came for a meet and greet for house sitting; he got to know Bohdi, his routines and how to be consistent with our training. He communicated with us really well, texting status and sending photos and at the end, gave us a quick debriefing about how their first time together went. This was really nice since Bohdi had never been left with a non-family member since he was adopted. Cole has a nice calm demeanor, he’s very trustworthy and he clearly strives to listen carefully to what a pet parents wants for their dog and carry that out. Highly recommend!”

“Jason was super patient with our rescue dog who was pretty freaked out by our being gone. Persistence paid off and they became buddies. We appreciate knowing he was in good hands.”

“Brianna and Sam were terrific from start to finish! Our two goldendoodle pups had a great time getting lots of head rubs, retrieving balls, and playing tug-of-war in the back yard. Brianna sent pics and updates daily, which were much appreciated! Her communication was excellent and it was great to go away for over a week and feel certain our home and the pups were in good hands.”

“Erica took good care of Thor and was respectful of our home. She was very communicative and shared pictures of Thor on a daily basis. We would definitely like Erica to stay with Thor again.”

“Brianna was great. She left the house in perfect shape, and sent updates during her stay. Our dog was relaxed and happy and it was clear that she had taken very good care of him. I would definitely call on her again!”

“JuliAnne was wonderful! I would recommend her and hire her again and again. My little Maltese, Remy loved her. She was kind, caring and very communicative. She is also very friendly and easy to work with. Thank you JuliAnne! Remy was extremely cared for.”

“Keonia is absolutely wonderful. Our older dog had some separation anxiety and Keonia was so understanding and patient with her. We received multiple updates about the dogs each day with pictures, which really put my mind at ease. I have a tough time leaving them, but Keonia made it easy because I knew that they were being so well taken care of. She took them for multiple walks, played fetch, and gave them tons of cuddles and love. When we got home, not only were the dogs happy, but our house was spotless. 5 stars isn’t enough to adequately express how amazing Keonia is. We will most definitely be asking her to watch our girls again!”

Liz was perfect with Henree. She updated su with photos. She contacted us because he was off his food and immediately tried adding cottage cheese as I suggested and everything was fine. She is very good with animals and has a genuine love for them. Highly recommended.
Calli has stayed with our 2 dogs and 1 cat a few a times now. Our girls are always happy when we get home and it’s clear they’ve been well cared for. Calli is communicative and thorough about their care, and she always leaves our home spotless. We’re so grateful to have found her!

Ashley was absolutely wonderful with our dog, Lucy! She watched Lucy for 8 days and sent us pictures and an update every day, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. She played with Lucy a lot and took her on two walks every day. From all the pictures, Lucy looked so happy and well cared for! Ashley was fantastic, and we will definitely use her again. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter!

Riley is the best dog sitter! She watched our two 1yo Great Dane pups and took such excellent care of them and loved on them as we do. And our dogs LOVED Milo and having another dog in their pack! Riley also took care of our home and helped clean up after a devastating hail storm. She went above and beyond for our dogs and our home!

Erica was amazing with our older dog who has mobility issues and requires a lot of medication and extra TLC. Lucy looked better than when we even left. The house was clean and she even watered my flowers which I really appreciate in this heat. I would highly recommend Erica as a puppy sitter

Monique is 11/10 - she was so thoughtful and kind to our kitties, and incredibly thorough in her after-sit notes which we absolutely loved reading! Our house was so clean like nobody was here in the first place, it made coming home feel way less stressful. Most importantly our girls loved her, even our shy kitty 🖤 Monique thank you SO much for being amazing, and treating our girls just how we would. You are literally THE BEST 🖤

Saya was so great with Chester! How can I tell? Because Chester wasn't over-clingy when I got home! Saya send me a photo a day, which always keeps a pet mom feeling secure. He also gave Chester his insulin shots, twice a day. Chester would love for Saya to come back next time!
Bryce is absolutely remarkable! Our 2 dogs loved her, and she took excellent care of them. She stayed in our house during our absence and left the place absolutely clean. One had to really look to see any evidence of her even using the place. Her medical skills make her an invaluable choice for pet sitting. Too bad there aren't 6 stars I could award her.
Isabella is my go-to kitty-sitter. I completely trust her with my 2 cats. Even my ultra-shy guy has decided she’s alright - she’s wooed him into trusting her. Which is nearly unheard of, for him. She went above and beyond for me this last trip when my apartment maintenance team decided to replace my fridge on her first evening here. She was so helpful and laid-back about it, even though I’m pretty sure she ended up doing most of the work to get the old fridge cleared out, magnets taken off, etc. Highly, highly recommend her. Just don’t take her away from me when I need her next in the fall! Ha. :)

We had a great experience with Tom! He stayed at our house for a week to watch our two dogs and took excellent care of them. He kept us updated with photos, reached out whenever he needed, and gave us peace of mind while we were away. You can tell that he really enjoys being around dogs. We came home to two happy pups and a well-cared-for home. We’d definitely recommend him and would happily have him pet sit for us again.

Becca was amazing! We have three dogs who can be a little crazy and reactive but she had no issues with their issues. She let me know when there was minor issues with their meds due to them being picky and was able to course correct and find solutions. Would 100% book again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Dove Valley walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Dove Valley maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Dove Valley choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
