“Lindsay stayed at the house with our three dogs while we were out of town. She was a great house/dogsitter and we would happily use her again! The house was spotless when we returned and the dogs were very relaxed.”

“Second time using Jonathon to watch my two girls and he did a fantastic job again! He treats them as if they were his own, and my dogs love him. Thanks again for watching my pups!”

“Ion was very good with our Louie! He was communicative and kept us updated with pictures of their adventures. It’s not uncommon for Louie to stop eating his food. Ion noticed this and made him a doggie pizza to encourage him to eat and it worked! Louie loves to see Ion and is always happy in his company. Louie is an anxious dog but seems happy and content with Ion. He leaves our home clean and just the way we left it. We would recommend his services to anyone!”

“Morgan did a great job taking care of our Chase! She is excellent with communication, providing daily texts and picture updates of walks and hanging out. “Annabelle is awesome! She took great care of my pup, giving her plenty of attention and playtime. Going to be reaching out to her in the future when I need care for my Maeve. Would recommend.”

“Lauren did an excellent job watching our senior dog! He requires several medications throughout the day and she took wonderful care of his needs! She was great at communicating with us and she sent pictures daily. The house was neat as a pin when we arrived home! We would highly recommend her to any pet parent!!”

“Thomas W. was an excellent pet and house sitter. We would definitely use him again. Our house was in good shape and the dog was fine. He sent pictures every day so we were able to enjoy our vacation and not worry.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Highlands Ranch
We hired Polina to stay with our dog, Max, for 5 nights. She did an excellent job. Sent pictures everyday along with daily updates on how Max was doing. She played with him and took him for walks everyday. She is very conscientious and caring. She seemed to genuinely love Max. Our place was clean when we got back. Would definitely hire her again.
Kasey went above and beyond this weekend while watching my two dogs. Theyre BIG dogs and she was amazing with them! She made sure I had check-ins, pictures, clear communication and understood clear expectations for their care. Kasey watched our home as well and left it BETTER than she arrived. She brought toys and things to entertain the pups, which they loved. I couldnt ask for a better pup-sitter! Thank you thank you for giving me peace of mind for the weekend, knowing my big babies were well taken care of.

Lauren did an excellent job watching our senior dog! He requires several medications throughout the day and she took wonderful care of his needs! She was great at communicating with us and she sent pictures daily. The house was neat as a pin when we arrived home! We would highly recommend her to any pet parent!!

Erin did a great job with our two pups. She watched them for 3 weeks and I'm so glad we chose Erin to be their caretaker! One of our dogs had a medical emergency (a seizure cluster) and Erin handled it extremely well. She was so compassionate and kind and level headed that we were impressed. Our dog came through it fine with Erin's help. She worked with the vet and communicated effectively with everyone. We got lots of pictures from their play time, walks and cuddle time. All at the same time she was house sitting too. The house was well looked after and she left everything in top shape. I would highly recommend her and I know our dogs will look forward to spending time with her again!
Trevin is a fantastic dog sitter and we highly recommend him! We have 3 large high energy dogs and Trevin provided excellent care of them in our home. He was willing to walk them (and take them on hikes) which just shows how much he loves being active. Our dogs each have unique personalities and different requirements, but Trevin followed the care instructions perfectly. He sent us pictures and provided the right amount of updates so we knew all was well. An added bonus was that he took care of our home and it was clean and tidy when we returned (he even offered to start the laundry). We use Rover very frequently and Trevin is definitely one of the best sitters we have found. Don’t hesitate in booking his services as he will take excellent care of your dogs and home.

Brad stayed at our house for 4 days to care for our 2yr old lab mix. She stays in a crate when we are out of the house, so we wanted someone who would not be gone for long periods of time. Brad works remotely so he was able to do that. Our dog seemed to like him a lot. He left the house as he found it and even washed his dishes and put his sheets in the wash.

Sky did a wonderful job caring for our two Goldens! We were out of town for 9 days so finding someone to care for our dogs and home for an extended period was important to us. Both of the dogs loved their time with Sky and she did a great job communicating with us throughout the week. Thank you so much Sky for taking such great care of our precious pups!

I have interviewed a lot of dog sitters over the years, Ion was the first one that brought treats for the dogs, you would think that is obvious, it is not. He asked a lot of questions, interacted with the dogs, wanted to play with them right away. My dog is 12, she has some issues and kind of a 'high maintenance' dog with supplements and some mobility issues. He was fine with it, read all my instructions, followed them, sent me pictures in the morning and evening with updates. When Keena was being picky, as she does sometimes, he asked and we got it figured out. I am usually pretty nervous with a new sitter, have had some nightmare situations, with Ion, I wasn't stressed, which is rare. When I travel again, I will reach out to him as my first choice and recommend to others to take care of their loved doggos

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Highlands Ranch walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Highlands Ranch maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Highlands Ranch choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
