“Leona was a true FIND for us on Rover!! She dog sat for us for 2 longer trips and took amazing care of our 2 dogs. One of our dogs was just recently adopted and Leona took great care to meet him where he was at. They have since bonded and of course our other dog absolutely adores her too. Our other dog needs medication and injections, and Leona took the time to meet with us ahead of our trip, so she felt comfortable. We will continue to call on Leona for ALL of our upcoming travel!”

“Caleb was excellent! He communicated very well about things that needed to be addressed with our dog and around the house. He also came up with new ways to get our dog to behave on walks!”

“Madeline is awesome! She takes such good care of my dogs including walks! She sends lots of videos so I never worry. Also, my house looks amazing when I get home!”

“I loved having Alyssa stay with Camden! She was a great at keeping me posted on dog/house and took good care of my house while i was gone for 9 days. She left everything in tip top shape and was loving with my dog...will definitely book her again!”

“Madi was absolutely amazing again. Not only does she care for the animals, she leaves the house looking amazing and a sweet treat after. We love you Madi 🩷❤️ I trust you more than our own family to watch over our fur babies haha 🤣”

“Daria gave my dog attention and walked her every day. She tried to comfort her when a storm was near which really frightenes my dog. Daria also let my dog sleep with her. I recommend her when you need someone to take care of your pet.”

“Lindsay stayed at the house with our three dogs while we were out of town. She was a great house/dogsitter and we would happily use her again! The house was spotless when we returned and the dogs were very relaxed.”

“Ayla and Han are amazing!! They house sat for us and watched our two cats and dog. Everything went super smoothly and all of the critters had a great week. They were communicative, asked great questions, followed our instructions to a T, and honestly may have even left our house cleaner than they found it. Our dog takes medication 2x a day and they handled that perfectly. Leaving your fur babies is stressful, but I felt totally confident with Ayla and Han!”

“Tessa was great! She was responsive and took great care of our sweet guy. Our house was left clean, she asked to water our plants, and our cat seemed very well cared for while we were gone. We will definitely use Tessa again!”

“Mitch was amazing!!! he took great care of my dog and cat and he showed a lot of flexibility to meet my needs as I was flying out early and flying home late. I greatly appreciate. Just having the faith that my two loved ones were taken care of so well. I will book him again at any time he’s available in the future thanks Mitch you’re awesome!”

“Leah was very sweet. She came over to meet the dogs and learn about their routines, then she stayed with them while we were away. Our dogs usually go on a hunger strike when someone else is staying with them, but they didn't this time. That says a lot about Leah! We'll definitely be booking her again if she's available for our next trip!”

“Sue and Mark took great care of our precious fur baby! They stayed at our home and gave our pup lots of love and attention. We received a couple of updates per day and were able to enjoy our vacation without worrying. I certainly recommend them and plan to use them again soon!”

“Jessie helped provide good care for our older dog while we were out of town, and helped with walks/medications as needed. Very grateful for her care and easy/quick communication.”

“This was our first time using Rover and Kimberly made it so easy. She and buddy got along great and she let us know how Buddy was doing each day. We will definitely book her again.”

“Curtis was very diligent at house sitting. It was m first trip having her and he was able to keep her occupied and meet her demands. It was very reassuring to get all of his photos. It helped me know that she was doing well. I am excited for my next trip because I am sure that she will be in great hands!”

“I went on vacation for a week and Vlad took such great care of my two, rather rambunctious dogs. He put me at ease by sending daily updates on my dogs. I will definitely call on him again!!”

About: I took a break from sitting but am back and excited! We recently lost our sweet baby Knox, so we are now available to house sit + host babies at our apt. I grew up on a small farm in FL, so the knowledge of how to care for your pet is engrained in me. I have volunteered at local animal shelters all of my life and all of my personal pets have been rescues. I am experienced and comfortable with all breeds and ages. As you will see within my reviews, I will show the love and kindness to your baby that I know you are searching for. My 8 yr old son, Daniel (as seen in pictures) is with me for all services. He is incredible with animals of all personalities and interaction preferences. We’re excited to meet you and your babies :) I leave for work close to 730am and off work and back home about 430 pm. My focus is your baby when they are with me. Whether their preference are cuddles, long walks, socializing, dog parks, hikes, at home stimulation, etc- that’s our plan :) I am also an endurance runner and am happy to take your baby on a run! I can imagine that this decision is difficult to make, but I am dedicated to making your life easier and your pets life happier. Pets aren't just pets - I will treat yours as if they were mine.

Maia is a wonderful dog sitter! She took great care with our Parti Yorkie and Bichon/Cocker mix. Maia played with them and got in a couple of walks during the 22 hours she watched our dogs. Maia is great at communicating and sending us pictures throughout the day. I really can’t say enough wonderful things about her!

One of our dogs was just recently adopted and Leona took great care to meet him where he was at. They have since bonded and of course our other dog absolutely adores her too. Eva was amazing! This was the first time we'd trusted someone else to care for our dogs, and we were naturally a little nervous—especially since one of our dogs had recently experienced a medical issue and needed medication. Eva handled everything with ease, followed all of our instructions perfectly, and made us feel completely at ease while we were away. When we got home, our dogs were happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. We couldn't have asked for a better sitter and would absolutely recommend Eva to anyone looking for someone reliable and compassionate to care for their pets.

Megan was a pleasure to work with, and she took such good care of our dog. She was very attentive to communicating with us, and it was clear our dog had the best time with her! Megan stayed in our house and took really good care of our home while we were away. Thank you, Megan!

Amanda was awesome! I needed someone on short notice and she was available. She watched my puppy, and even helped her cure her diarrhea. And she watered my plants at my house. I will definitely book with her again, my puppy loved her time with Amanda and her dogs.

Kalea did any excellent job with our two dogs and two cats ! She took the dogs for walks and gave all the animals lots of love ! I highly recommend her to take care of your fur babies. Our home was well taken care of and she was great with communication. We will be using her again !

Nicole did a wonderful job with our old girl. Sheba is showing all of her 14.5 years, with increasingly limited mobility and less predictable potty behavior. Nicole took it all in stride and provided excellent care. One testament to this is that Sheba had no accidents. We have already booked Nicole for another trip we are taking out of town. You can fully trust her to take care of your fur baby! She also does a great job with communication - including photos, a very nice touch!

We LOVE Katy. She is a delight and Dottie is always smiling when she's around. We were lucky to have her house-sit for ten days, and all was grand upon our return. I am so grateful to have someone like her to help. Thanks, Katy! We'll definitely see you for the next one.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Columbine on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 8,701 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Columbine. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Columbine walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Columbine maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Columbine choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Columbine. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
