“Madeline was an excellent sitter - she sent communications showing that my pet was eating and walking happily, and she was also a very considerate houseguest! Thank you!”

“Caleb went above and beyond watching our three dogs (2 Golden retrievers and pit mix) and our two cats. He made sure they were well taken care of and really took the time to make sure they were happy and healthy while we were away. If you are looking for someone to watch your pets, I highly recommend Caleb. I would give him 10 stars if I could!!!”

“Leona truly did an amazing job. She’s very responsive, very timely and keep us well updated. She went above and beyond cleaning up. Would highly recommend her and would definitely ask her again to watch our furry fellas!”

“Fantastic! This was my first time using Amanda and she definitely made sure I felt comfortable and secure. Lots of pictures and communication and letting me know when she arrived and left. All the animals loved her! Thank You Amanda!”

“Loved Daria! She was extremely flexible with my schedule for pick up/drop off of Luna. She also sent pics and vids of her during the trip to check-in. I'll definitely use her in the future to watch Lu again :)”

“I loved having Alyssa stay with Camden! She was a great at keeping me posted on dog/house and took good care of my house while i was gone for 9 days. She left everything in tip top shape and was loving with my dog...will definitely book her again!”

“MITCH IS AMAZING!! Our dog Vito has a few special needs and Mitch was WONDERFUL with him. He sent photos and updated us a couple times a day which put us at ease leaving him. We definitely recommend him!!”
“Lindsay was great! She sent daily updates and photos of our dogs and took great care of them while we were away. Our dogs seemed to love her! She also left our house nice and clean. We would definitely use Lindsay again next time we need someone to watch our dogs. Thank you Lindsay!”

“Polina was amazing! I think this was her first time on Rover or doing house/dog sitting, but she was fabulous. She was so communicative and was clearly taking very good care of our two dogs. She left the house spotless and was incredibly considerate. We'll definitely ask Polina to care for our dogs again!”

“Sarah was a great pet sitter and house guest. She gave me many updates per day with tons of pictures. Would definitely recommend her to anyone who needs their pets watched over!”

“Vlad was wonderful! I had to head out of time in a pinch and he was ready & able. He took great care of my 2 pups and my home. I highly recommend Vlad!”

“Chelsea was wonderful to work with! Although our trip was unexpectedly canceled last minute and she didn't end up watching our dogs this time, we had a great experience with her during our meet-and-greets. She was professional, communicative, punctual, and took the time to get to know the boys and learn their routines. It was clear how much she cares about animals, and we immediately felt comfortable with her. She was thoughtful, organized, and asked great questions about their care. We have complete confidence in her and are already planning to have her watch the boys in the future. We highly recommend Chelsea to anyone looking for a caring and reliable pet sitter.”

“Tessa watched our dog Canyon in our home for a week in March 2026. Tessa took excellent care of Canyon, provided us with periodic updates and pictures throughout her stay! As an over-the-top and unexpected gesture, Tessa even picked up the backyard, washed any linens she used during her stay, and left our home better than she found it. Tessa is now our preferred sitter and we will definitely ask her first when we next need a sitter.”

“Andrew went above and beyond! Not only did he take great care of Penny and Whiskey, but he took great care of the house, and I’m pretty sure it’s cleaner than when we left. I’ll be rebooking without hesitation the next time we need a house sitter”

“Rachel has house sat our 2 dogs a few times now & we are so glad we found her! Always quick to respond, sends great pics of the pups having fun or cuddling & just makes us feel at ease. We always trust the dogs are in good hands, and always come back to happy pups and a clean home!”

About: I’ve had cats all my life and have over 15 years of experience taking care of cats from all walks of life, both personally and professionally. I was able to learn a lot about cats and best practices from my mother, who is a veterinary technician. Shortly after I moved to Boston in 2015, I volunteered at Gifford Cat Shelter in Brighton where I both took care of the adoptable cats and helped folks interested in adopting find the right cat for them. I also was a foster mom to Gifford cats to prepare them for their forever homes, including socialization and reducing the kitties’ anxiety. During my last semester in graduate school to become a therapist, I joined the Rover community and had the opportunity to take care of some amazing cats! Looking to bring my care and skills to the Denver Metro area as well! I have two cats of my own, named Frida and Poe. Currently, I'm an outpatient therapist with excellent flexibility to care for your kitties either in the mornings or evenings. I am happy to work with you on what makes the most sense for you and your cat(s)! I aim to approach kitties who are new to me with a gentle, yet friendly, approach. It can be intimidating meeting a new person - it's all about being patient and empathetic :)
“Ana Elisa was a wonderful pet sitter for our cat. She took the time to do a meet and greet and was quick to respond to our communications. She sent us photos of our cat each day as we requested and gave her lots of attention. We returned to a happy cat, tidy house, and even some adorable drawings she made of our cat!”

Nicole did a wonderful job with our old girl. Sheba is showing all of her 14.5 years, with increasingly limited mobility and less predictable potty behavior. Nicole took it all in stride and provided excellent care. One testament to this is that Sheba had no accidents. We have already booked Nicole for another trip we are taking out of town. You can fully trust her to take care of your fur baby! She also does a great job with communication - including photos, a very nice touch!

Deborah was absolutely amazing with our dogs! From the moment we met her, she was friendly, professional, and clearly passionate about caring for animals. While we were away on vacation, she continuously checked in with us, sent numerous photos and updates, and gave us complete peace of mind knowing our dogs were in great hands.

As usual, Madeline did an amazing job with our two busy dogs! She does way more than feed them; she walks them, plays with them, and sends lots of pictures! Our house and yard are always spotless when we come home! She is also a great communicator so I never worry!

Our cat had to get a gastrotomy a day before leaving and we had to scramble to find a sitter. Rhonda responded in minutes and promptly scheduled a meet and greet. She took excellent care of our cats while we were gone and made sure we were updated throughout, and was able to keep an eye on our cat post operation while giving the oral medication and small meals throughout the day.

Lexie is amazing! We went away for four days and we never once had to worry about our dogs! She sent lots of photos and kept our dogs so happy while we were gone! She left the house so clean too! We really appreciate all the work she does and can’t recommend her enough!

Maia is truly the best. We have a full house of two cats, an energetic young dog, and a senior pup who recently went blind. She took exceptional care of all of our babies and provided the best updates I’ve ever seen. She is very detail oriented and put all my worries at ease. It was such a treat to be able to enjoy our trip knowing everyone was well taken care of. To top it off, my house was immaculately clean when I got home. Cleaner than I left it! Thank you, Maia! The whole fam is your biggest fan!

Tamarine watched our high-maintenance pups for 2 weeks while we were out of the country and our dogs had a great time! They were well loved and cared for, which was a HUGE weight off as we traveled. Each day we received photo updates that made us smile and made the guilt of leaving them fade away. Tamarine worked with our younger pup to help her with pulling while walking and also focusing from distractions. It's obvious this work has stuck, as she is a new dog when she walks! She respectfully waits for other dogs to pass and doesn't lunge at or jump on passers by. Our older, grumpy chihuaua was also charmed by Tamarine. Would recommend her to anyone!

We LOVE Katy. She is a delight and Dottie is always smiling when she's around. We were lucky to have her house-sit for ten days, and all was grand upon our return. I am so grateful to have someone like her to help. Thanks, Katy! We'll definitely see you for the next one.

Tessa was as excellent as always for the long weekend house sitting with our dog, Canyon. Tessa even tidied and washed the bedding for our guest room. We got last minute vet results that our dog was sick and needed medicine twice daily in his food. Tessa was so flexible with this last minute request and very kind to our sick pup! You can absolutely trust Tessa for your House Sitting and pet care needs.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of June 2026, there are 8,567 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Columbine Valley. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Columbine Valley walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Columbine Valley maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Columbine Valley choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
