“Kelly was great. She came to look after my cat over the holidays when I was away, and I knew he was in good hands with her. She took plenty of pictures of them playing and gave me status updates that everything was ok. On the last day, there was an issue with my furnace and she let me know right away and offered to come back and make sure everything was ok, which put my mind at ease. That was something she didn't have to do, but went the extra step to make the experience a little less stressful for me. I would highly recommend her and would definitely use her again in the future.”

“Jennah did a fantastic job caring for my babies while I was away. She was communicative, attentive, and loving to my animals. I greatly appreciated everything that she did and would definitely hire her again when the need arises.”

“Grant was wonderful to work with. We had great peace of mind knowing our pets were taken care of while in vacation. He was on time each visit and took plenty of pictures to show us how our pets were doing. Thank you Grant!”
“Alyssa was wonderful! She did drop bys with our pup while we were out of town and sent so many photos and shared great updates, it really put our mind at ease! She was very responsive and reliable, and I know our pup got all the love and attention while we were away. We will definitely be using her again!”

“Samantha took wonderful care of my cat while I was away for 7 days, and I really appreciated her updates and how perceptive she was about how my cat was doing. She went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of!”

“Jennifer did an awesome job with our senior cats! She made us feel at ease because she has experience with giving insulin, and she took great care of our diabetic cat. Thank you so much Jennifer!”

“Todd was quick to respond to the booking request and super communicative! He was able to come play with our pup for a while even though our dog isn’t always great with strangers!”

“Laura did a great job taking care of our kitty while we were out of town. She really treated him like one of her own, even bringing over some new toys!”

About: I moved to a pet-less house and miss having furry friends around! I grew up with dogs and owned a dog in a previous relationship. We got him as a puppy and took him to obedience courses, including a course for reactive dogs. I also provided senior dog care for a previous roommate and overnight care for many friends and family members. I absolutely love dogs and would be honored to care for your pup. I work full-time on a hybrid schedule (generally at home M/W/F, in office Tues/Thurs). For house-sitting jobs, I'll need to be away for up to 6.5 hrs on Tues/Thurs depending on my schedule. Apart from that, I can accomodate most scheduling requests. POLICIES: - Meet & greets are required with any new dog I'll be caring for. - I don't accept bookings more than 4 months in advance. - Generally, my max house stay is 14 days. I understand it can be difficult to leave your pet in someone else's care. I will strive to carefully follow directions, listen to your pup's needs, and do all I can to make them feel comfortable. My main reason for joining Rover is to connect with animals, so my priority is to provide excellent care.
About: Growing up with several dogs, I’ve spent my entire life around pets of all breeds, sizes, and energy levels. I understand canine body language and love tailoring my care to what each dog needs—whether that’s an energetic outdoor walk or a cozy, quiet afternoon of companionship. Today, I am a proud cat mom, which has given me plenty of practice with feline routines, handling specialized feeding needs, and building trust with more independent or sensitive cats. As a current graduate student, I offer a reliable, detail-oriented approach to pet care along with a flexible schedule, ensuring your pets receive focused attention, plenty of updates, and the same loving care I give my own. As a graduate student with evening classes, my weekdays are completely open from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM. This dedicated window makes me ideal for routine mid-day dog walks, lunchtime potty breaks, and afternoon drop-in visits, ensuring your pets receive focused care, fresh water, and exercise while you're at work. When caring for pets in your home, safety and trust are my top priorities. I will follow your precise instructions for feeding, routines, and medication to maintain a comfortable environment. I double-check all doors, gates, and secure leashes during walks to ensure your pets are always safe, happy, and well-cared for.
About: Born into an animal loving family, I’ve had cats, ferrets, and currently have two big handsome dogs! Experienced with all stages of life my boys are Monty (Great Pyrenees -1.5 years old) and Jaxson is my old man (collie mix -15 years old). I’m a corporate dog mom of two boys with some extra time on the weekends! My scheduled availability is week nights, weekends, and holidays. I have a 6ft tall fenced yard with cameras to keep everyone safe. I can also keep animals separated via my basement or even crate your fur baby if needed.

Kelly took wonderful care of our cat, Ball, while we were traveling. Ball was happy and relaxed when we returned home, which meant a lot to us. We’re very grateful to Kelly for taking such good care of him and will definitely book with her again. Highly recommended!

Natalie is one of our go to sitters! Not only does she do a great job at watching and taking care of our dog and cats, but she always reaches out with any concerns so we can address. She also provides great pictures that show our pets are happy and excited to see her! One specific call out - we originally only had a morning drop in visit booked. We anticipated on being back at a reasonable time in the evening to let our dog out and feed all of our pets. The hike took longer than expected, so we messaged Natalie and asked if she could do one more visit. She responded within 2 minutes and said she could do it. Obviously not something that can always be expected, but her communication and service even after the original service is phenomenal! If we could give 6 stars, we would.

Pilar did an amazing job taking care of my Jaci. She was loving, attentive, and made sure Jaci was happy and well cared for. I felt completely comfortable knowing Jaci was taken care of. I truly appreciate how well she took care of him and would definitely recommend Pilar to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and caring for their pet. ❤️🐾

Tessa was wonderful with our cat while we were away! She was attentive to detail and went above and beyond to care for our spicy little boy. She also kept us updated after each visit, which gave us peace of mind. We would absolutely recommend Tessa to anyone looking for a caring and reliable pet sitter!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
