“I was really worried about leaving my cat, who has cancer, while I was away for a business trip. I even considered putting him down because I wasn’t sure anyone would be able to give him the care he needed. When I asked Tina if she was comfortable giving both liquid and pill medications, she had me walk her through the process to make sure she got it right. She also asked if it would be okay for her partner to come along to help, which I really appreciated. For four days, Tina and her partner came by to take care of my cat and made sure he got his meds without any issues. She was really respectful of his space, knowing he was scared of the meds. She gave my cat food and water according to instructions, and she sent me detailed notes after each visit. On the last day, she even took out the cat litter trash, even though I had only asked her to keep it in the designated bin. When I came home, I found my cat chilling on his favorite bed. I’m so grateful for Tina’s help. It gave me peace of mind and let me spend more time with my cat. Thank you so much, Tina!”

“Maia did an incredible job. She went above and beyond any requests (rolling in dumpster, bringing in newspaper, cleaning up, etc.). Her photos and visit descriptions made me feel like my kitties were in great hands. Will absolutely book her again and would recommend her to anyone.”
“Ruby is wonderful! I had to leave town for a funeral and there was uncertainty as to when I’d be returning. Ruby was so flexible and kind enough to work with me in having to extend the trip twice throughout the week. It was a relief to know my fur babies were in good hands while I was away! Will definitely continue to use her services in the future!”

“So glad to have Stephany taking care of our dog! She is wonderful with him, even though he is an energetic and wild puppy! She does a fantastic job and we can tell he enjoys her visits.”

“Cami did a wonderful job with our shy but sassy little kitty. She gave her the space she needed to feel comfortable and allowed our cat to come to her at her own pace. We will definitely be requesting her services again! ?”

“Nicole was great, my cat took to her immediately. They spent a lot of time together playing and cuddling, which my cat needs a lot of. Nicole cleaned the litter box and tidied the house amazingly before I returned. She sent lots of pictures everyday.”

“Chelsea did a wonderful job checking in on my 2 boys at a consistent time all week! They are both pretty skittish but warmed up to her quite a bit. I really appreciated her thorough updates and pictures while I was gone - I would definitely book Chelsea again in the future!”

“Huyen has watched our two kitties several times and has always done an excellent job. It's nice to know our fuzzy roommates are in good hands and her picture taking is also top notch!”

“Jennifer did an amazing job taking care of my cat. She and Mocha became good friends. Appreciate my peace when I am on vacation, knowing that my pet has all she needs.”

“My cat Rita is very shy and generally hates meeting new people. However, she loved Denise and opened up to her instantly. Denise was attentive, caring, and always made sure Rita got the attention and love she needed while I was away. I would absolutely recommend Denise to anyone who wants their pet to be well taken care of!”

“Incredible experience with Hilary! I haven’t felt so at ease leaving my pets while I went on vacation in a long time. They were both extremely happy when I came back, even my super shy cat.”

“Kirstin is the best! She is so great with our cat who doesn’t open up to others easily! She is so responsive and communicative, we feel so at ease when she is looking after our cat!”

“Pilar was so communicative and Timber loved having her taking care of him. Her drop ins were on time and consistent. Although we were unable during the booking, she was independent and able to accommodate Timber’s needs. She was amazing!”

“Marissa was so great to work with- she was prompt with communication, reliable, and took great care of our senior pup who definitely requires a little extra TLC, including handling her complex meds routine with ease. Highly recommend!”
“Robin was so great! She sent the cutest pictures and took such great care of my cat. She really went above and beyond updating me and watering my plants. So awesome!! 10/10”

“Brittany is great! I have a young puppy that is still being trained and is used to being walked solely by me. My puppy is very comfortable with Brittany and Brittany has done a great job walking her in the pouring rain or shine! No easy task with a new puppy! I received constant communication and pics which is great as a nervous new dog owner!”

“Jasmine did such a great job dropping in with my girls! She kept me posted each day-keeping their water bowls full and cleaning the litter boxes. There were lots of pets and playtime. My cats also need several medications, but it was a breeze with all of her support. I was able to enjoy my vacation feeling that my furbies were in great hands. Will definitely be hiring her for any future needs!”

“Courtney is always so wonderful! She leaves detailed updates and shares lots of photos for each visit. We always feel very comfortable leaving Bluebelle in her care.”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
