“Robin is AWESOME! She is commutative, punctual and reliable. She took good care of my Kitty when I was away over the weekend. Will DEFINITELY be booking with her again in the future!”

“Maia always takes excellent care of our dog/cat, making sure all needs are meet and going the extra mile to keep them happy and entertained. It gives me so much peace of mind knowing our fur babies are in such good hands.”

“Thank you so much for caring for our dogs and cat! I know they had a great time because their pictures tell the story! That made us feel so good while away that they were in such great hands. Thank you!”

“Holly was absolutely the best with my favorite boy, Quincy! He’s shy and doesn’t warm up to just anyone so quickly like he did with Holly. He’s made a new bff and it makes me smile :-) He can’t wait to see Holly again!”

“Jasmine took wonderful care of our dog and cat for the weekend. She is dependable and patient. We were anxious about going away but Jasmine made us feel very comfortable. We recommend her highly.”

About: I work in education and have summers (and holiday stretches) off. My dog recently passed away. He was a large / elderly / mobility-assisted / diapered / blind / medicated dog I had adopted almost 8 years ago. I had adopted a hospice dog in 2023 as well - she was a large breed with multiple cancers, so I am also familiar with that type of end of life care. I love dogs. I have used Rover often and now I would love the chance to use our empty home this summer to pet sit for others! I have an open summer! I work in education and have summers off. I do not have a schedule that I must adhere to. This is a flexible time for me. There are no other pets in our home. I know this is important for some to feel content with their pet being cared for, so this might fill a need that is harder to find!
About: I have grown up with various different pets ranging from dogs, cats, and lizards. I am very comfortable around each of these animals and have lots of experience playing, walking, feeding, and taking care of various animals. I always have plenty of energy and motivation to watch over your furry friends. I currently have a part-time summer internship with very flexible hours. This leaves me with a open schedule to easily cater to your pet care needs. I have three dogs at home. Depending on the dog's personalities I treat them each differently. For example, our older dog is about 10 so I will play with him gently and then lay with him and pet him. As for my other two dogs, one is a beagle and one is a blackmouth cur mix, they are both very young dogs. For these two I will throw the ball and chase them around the yard (which is fenced) and give them a lot more energy-inducing attention and stimulation.
About: I love relating to animals from domesticated furry friends to those habitat in nature. I am not intimidated by size or medical needs & would relish the opportunity to help your fur baby feel loved & cared for. I have had the honor and pleasure to be entrusted to care for the dogs & cats of my friends & neighbors for over 50 years. I love being outside so I don’t mind taking a four-legged friend for a walk or spending time in a backyard playing catch or tug with their favorite chew toy. I also just like to honor “special time” on a lap, giving cuddles and pets. I have two cats of my own that recently incurred expenses for dental surgery. I was looking for ways to earn extra money when the Rover services popped up as an option. I thought it would be a perfect fit. I would love the opportunity to give your pet some extra care, so that I can care for my cats. My full-time job is at a high school and I have some free time in the summer. During June and July, I am available morning, midday and evenings for dog walks, dog sitting or cat sitting. When school starts my availability becomes limited to midday and evenings. Let’s talk how I can work around your schedule. My sweet cats get me up early, making me available to care for your baby first thing in the morning. Midday is very flexible for walks or cuddles as well as late afternoon & evening. Let’s talk about the best time for your pet. My two cats & I enjoy our fenced back yard each morning & evening. Ive had the pleasure of hosting pet friends for overnights at our house. Im also willing & able to meet the desires of others in their familiar spaces.
“Highly recommend! Shana does great with our pup Sable, and takes the time to work with him on commands and training- which we really appreciate it! You can tell she cares for her clients and our pup took right to her!”

“Thank you for your kind heart, attention to our pets, and willingness to help us out when our flight home was delayed! I will be recommending you to all my friends!”

“Christina was excellent. We had to book her on short notice. She responded quickly and was very accommodating to our needs. Came home to healthy, happy puppies! Thank you so much Christina!”

Maia watched my kitty Eggroll for 2 weeks while I was out for the country. She came by for an hour each day and my cat just absolutely loves her. My kitty is a little older and does need some extra care (meds) but she handled this perfectly! She was great with pictures and updates and even got my kitty a new catnip toy which Eggroll just absolutely loved!

Tina was so awesome with my cats Ghost and Pepper! She gave me so many details about how they were doing and both warmed up to her very quickly! She played with them every day and sent me the cutest photos and videos of them, I had zero concerns that they were doing okay with her updates. Super above and beyond communication! I would happily use her again next time they need a sitter, highly recommend Tina to anyone!

Megan was great. She reached out with a question several days before the drop in, setting my mind at ease (this was our first time working together). This was Megan’s first time with pet birds, but she handled my feisty bird easily and with no complaint. I’m very happy she’ll be doing a follow up visit this week and sad that she’ll be graduating soon and leaving the DC area. Megan is a good choice for pet sitting.

Kelli did an incredible job with our challenging pets. She went above and beyond cleaning up a poop mess that one of our dogs left after stepping on poop in the yard. She was amazing at communicating and sending pictures. I highly recommend her and plan on using her again in the future.
I can’t say enough good things about Michelle. She consistently goes above and beyond—on one occasion even picking up treats when I ran out, which meant I came home to a very happy (and very spoiled) cat. What really stands out is how much she genuinely cares. It’s clear she loves what she does, and more importantly, she truly loves my cat—and the feeling is mutual. He’s completely comfortable with her, which says everything. It gives me real peace of mind knowing he’s in such thoughtful, attentive hands. Highly recommend.

Cami was so awesome and patient with our fur babies! She watched our adult lab mix and kitten for a week over the holidays and took so much care in ensuring they were comfortable with her and well taken care of. She gave thorough updates with every visit and we couldn’t have been happier with her help!!

So amazing for being willing to come over so last notice. Had something for work pop up last minute and had to leave my new kitty and having Jordan there set me so much at ease. Super communicative and kept me updated. Absolutely awesome and I’d rebook for him to hang out with Crimi any time!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Columbine Valley. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
