“Jennifer met our reactive dog for the first time today and it could not have gone better! She understands dogs and their body language and my pup relaxed with her incredibly quickly. I honestly couldn’t have hoped for a better outcome!”

“Matt was great! Diligent, on time, and went above and beyond what we asked of him. Plus, our dogs loved him! Would recommend for anybody seeking some extra love for their pets while away.”

About: I am a vet tech and have worked with pets for 26 years but have been caring for them since I was a little girl. I am experienced in dog behavior/training as well. Our home is comfortable and dogs are allowed in every part of the home. We have a large back yard and secure fence. We love taking daily walks and playing with them. The dogs are a part of our everyday life and they will be loved and well cared for while you're away. They will be treated as part of our family. We have a doggy door, can crate your pet if you would prefer, we have one dog of our own so they will have dog company. Like I said before, they are treated as part of the family. I have tons of vet med experience so if something goes wrong, I will know how to handle it.
“Mary recently watched my two cats for three weeks and everything went smoothly. Mary provided daily photos and updates on the cats. She even set up a camera to locate one of the cats, who likes to hide during visits, just to make sure he was safe and sound. I strongly recommend Mary as a pet-sitter and fully intend to hire her again for my next trip.”

“Jennie took great care of my dogs, one being a senior with extra needs, chickens and pet bird while I was away. She sent lots of updates and pictures and I felt like she went above and beyond making sure the house was also okay during her checkins. She also gave my two pups a cute Thanksgiving bandana ! Will use her again thank you!”

About: I have a year of experience caring for two senior dogs (ages 11 and 13), so I’m very comfortable with older pups who may need a little extra patience and attention. I make sure to stick to their routines and give them plenty of love so they feel safe and cared for while you’re away. I also love spending time playing with dogs. whether that’s gentle play for older pups or more active fun for younger ones. I treat every dog like they’re my own and always make their happiness my priority. Even with my part-time job and college classes, I make pet care a priority in my routine. I’m very reliable about sticking to feeding schedules, walks, and routines so pets feel comfortable and cared for. I’ll also work with you to make sure your pet gets the top care they deserve, just the way you’d like it. When I house sit, I follow your pet’s usual feeding, walking, and play routines so they feel comfortable while you’re away. I also keep the house in order and am happy to help with little things like watering plants or bringing in the mail so you can come home stress-free. For walks, I make sure your dog gets safe exercise and plenty of attention, and during check-ins I give fresh water, potty breaks, and some play or cuddles. My goal is to care for your pets and your home as if they were my own.
“Nicole has been an amazing sitter for our sweet boy! We will miss her dearly being a part of the daily routine but if we ever need a weekend or overnight, we know who to call! 🩷🐾”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Ken Caryl
Sarah did an amazing job with our cats while we were away! She was very communicative starting from the meet and greet through the end of our trip. We appreciated the thorough notes at each check in and the many pictures she sent our way. She went above and beyond to help our more introverted and timid cat feel comfortable and come around, too. We highly reccomend her and will definitely be contacting her again to care for our cats in the future! Thank you Sarah!

Holly did a great job watching my rabbit while I was out of the country for 10 days. She sent updates and photos each visit, so I didn't worry about him once. She did a fantastic job keeping his enclosure clean--which is not an easy feat! I know my rabbit was excited to see her each visit.

I can’t say enough good things about Michelle. She consistently goes above and beyond—on one occasion even picking up treats when I ran out, which meant I came home to a very happy (and very spoiled) cat. What really stands out is how much she genuinely cares. It’s clear she loves what she does, and more importantly, she truly loves my cat—and the feeling is mutual. He’s completely comfortable with her, which says everything. It gives me real peace of mind knowing he’s in such thoughtful, attentive hands. Highly recommend.

Second time booking with Malorie and she did a wonderful job again! She was open and accommodating even when given late notice of the booking and most importantly made sure Maverick was cared for. She gave amazing updates every day and was able to give him his medications with no problems!

Anghelie was incredibly thoughtful and kind from the very first meet and greet. It was immediately clear how much she genuinely loves cats and how experienced she is in caring for them. While we were away, she went above and beyond by helping to problem-solve an unexpected house issue and keeping us informed, which gave us so much peace of mind. We felt completely confident leaving our cat in her care, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book her again. Highly recommend!

Morgan is a phenomenal pet sitter! Great communication and had consistent timely drop ins. My cats really seemed to love her from the photos she sent and gave fantastic and detailed updates - 10000% would recommend and am hopeful to be able to use her again when needed! Thanks Morgan!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
