“Sonja is incredible at what she does!…. She dropped in on my 2 x kittens and sent me so many pictures and made fortresses for them!. They were so happy when I got home. Sonja came last minute and she always put my mind at ease. I will use her now permanently and I can’t reccomend her high enough”

“Jonathon was absolutely great with my dogs! It had been awhile since I traveled and had to leave them so I was anxious going into it, but that anxiety went away the first day once I saw how well he was caring for my dogs! He treated them as they were his own and he was great with sending updates with photos. I can’t express my gratitude enough. I will be using Jonathon again to dog sit for my next trip!”

“Carol was great with our girls, Birdie and Dakota. She stayed at our home so we could keep our pups in their environment and it made all the difference. She was great with photo updates and being here throughout the day. We had last minute travel changes, so we appreciate the flexibility. We’ll absolutely ask Carol to watch our dogs in the future!”

“We can’t say enough good things about Polina! From the initial meet & greet, we felt completely at ease leaving Scoot and Maisie in her care. She took amazing care of our dogs, keeping up with their exercise and routines perfectly, and it was clear the pups felt loved. Her daily photos and updates made our trip relaxing because we knew our fur babies were being well cared for! Not only is she great with dogs, but she’s also a considerate house guest—we came home to a clean house and relaxed pups. She even went above and beyond by staying extra time when we ran late. Five stars isn't enough!”

“Morgan was wonderful with our dogs! They warmed up to her really quickly, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. She sent lots of updates, kept us informed, and made us feel confident that our dogs were safe and well cared for. She also left our home in great shape. We would absolutely recommend Morgan and would be happy to book with her again!”

“Lindsay was great! She sent daily updates and photos of our dogs and took great care of them while we were away. Our dogs seemed to love her! She also left our house nice and clean. We would definitely use Lindsay again next time we need someone to watch our dogs. Thank you Lindsay!”

“Ion was very good with our Louie! He was communicative and kept us updated with pictures of their adventures. It’s not uncommon for Louie to stop eating his food. Ion noticed this and made him a doggie pizza to encourage him to eat and it worked! Louie loves to see Ion and is always happy in his company. Louie is an anxious dog but seems happy and content with Ion. He leaves our home clean and just the way we left it. We would recommend his services to anyone!”

“Revann was great! She communicated well and provided plenty of updates. She took such good care of the house and our dog! ?I absolutely recommend Revann to others and would love to have her watch Dempsey again.”

About: I have personal experience caring for my own dog, who I have had for about 8 years. Through this, I have learned how to handle daily responsibilities such as feeding, walking, and understanding a pet’s needs and behavior. In addition to my own pet, I have also helped care for dogs of friends and family on different occasions. This has given me experience being around different types of dogs, adapting to their routines, and making sure they feel comfortable and safe. Although I have not worked professionally as a pet sitter yet, I am responsible, patient, and very attentive. I always follow instructions carefully and treat every pet with care and respect. What sets me apart is that I genuinely love animals and take their well-being seriously. I am reliable, calm, and willing to adapt to each pet’s personality and needs. I work during the day from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., which gives me a consistent and organized daily routine. Outside of those hours, I am available in the evenings and I also have full availability on weekends. Because of this schedule, I can easily fit pet care into my routine without conflicts. I am good at managing my time and staying organized, which helps me be reliable and attentive when caring for pets. I am able to help with walks, feeding, playtime, and companionship. I always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I take responsibility seriously and follow instructions carefully. I provide pet care in my clients' homes, since I cannot house pets in my own home. I always make sure to respect the owner's space and follow his instructions carefully to keep the pet's routine consistent and comfortable. When I take care of pets in a client's home, I focus on creating a quiet and safe environment. I make sure that pets are fed on time, taken for a walk if necessary and that they are given attention, playtime and company. I am very responsible and respectful with both the pet and the home. I understand the importance of trust when entering someone's space, so I always communicate clearly and follow all the guidelines provided by the owner. My goal is to make pets feel safe, comfortable and cared for while maintaining their normal routine as much as possible.
“Stephany did a great job watching our dog, Laila, while we traveled home for the holidays. We just moved here so it was important to us to have someone stay with her while she was still adjusting to the new apartment. Stephany was very responsive, flexible, and communicative when caring for Laila. Stephany followed our care instructions and sent us plenty of updates and photos throughout her sitting. It was just what we needed to so we wouldn’t have to worry and we could enjoy our time with our family!”

“Andrew was very patient and understanding with my complicated dog - really rolled with it, kept in communication, and enlisted help with my neighbors when needed. Would highly recommend!”

“Ralitsa was amazing with my two miniature Weiner’s dogs! I had to leave town unexpectedly and reached out to a handful of sitters on Rover and she responded right away. She was so good about sending updates with pictures and followed all my instructions on their care. I will definitely use her again in the future!”

“Kelley and Matt were absolutely fabulous! They went above and beyond and did everything requested, as well as left my house cleaner than when I left. My pups were super happy and very well cared for. I highly recommend them and will absolutely rebook next time I need to be out of town.”

About: I've had pets since I was a kid of all sorts and I love getting to know the personality of each animal. Just like people, we need to learn each animal the same way. It's a goal of my life to understand them as best as I can to give them the best life possible. Animals under my care will be comfortable, loved on, and safe. I work from home, so I have all day to care for your pet's food, bathroom, and loving needs. I have no days scheduled away from the house on a weekly basis. Whether it's a walk or house sitting, I want to ensure you're comfortable with the care and decisions made to ensure your pets are happy, healthy, and satisfied! I'm not currently accepting boarding, as I'm renting in a home with a smaller dog and an older dog, I am very comfortable in the suburban environment. I enjoy talking to your pets and including them in my day. Making them feel seen and paid attention to even during days when I have work to do! I attempt to fulfill scratch requests whenever I can and love going out of my way to give some unexpected attention when they don't expect it. No one wants a sitter that solely fills the 'needs' without actively offering the 'wants' as well!

She was an excellent sitter - sent lots of pictures and updates, very communicative! She ensured our pup was well taken care of and got lots of treats :) Our house was impeccable when we returned - even washed the sheets for us! Would definitely book her again! Thanks Nikki!

Keira was AMAZING with our pup. She kept us updated every day, made sure to send pictures, and we could tell our pup was well cared for. It made us feel so relived that our pup was getting the proper care and attention while we were away. We will most definitely be booking with her again.

Isabela was great! We needed a last minute dog sitter and she was able to accommodate our last minute request. She was very great at communicating, sent us updates, and took great care of our two dogs. We will definitely use her again for our in home pet care while we were away! Highly recommend Isabela!

Sophia took wonderful care of our dogs while we were away. She really went above and beyond, doing things like long walks that I said were optional. She also provided great updates - the perfect amount to make me feel confident the dogs were doing well. I hope it works out with our schedules to have Sophia watch the dogs again because she did a great job.

The average cost for House Sitting in Castlewood on Rover is $42.8 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Castlewood walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Castlewood maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Castlewood choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Castlewood. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
