“Leona was a true FIND for us on Rover!! She dog sat for us for 2 longer trips and took amazing care of our 2 dogs. One of our dogs was just recently adopted and Leona took great care to meet him where he was at. They have since bonded and of course our other dog absolutely adores her too. Our other dog needs medication and injections, and Leona took the time to meet with us ahead of our trip, so she felt comfortable. We will continue to call on Leona for ALL of our upcoming travel!”

“Ayla and Han did a great job caring for our dog while we were out of town. They sent updates as often as requested and have always been very responsive and professional. They stayed at our house while we were gone and left our house spotless. I would highly recommend!”

“Cameron was great! He was very easy to work with and my doggo loved him. He left the house perfectly clean. I unfortunately had to cut my trip short so he didn't watch my dog for the full time, but I would definitely trust him house sitting again!”

“Riese went above and beyond in every way. She has a calm demeanor, perfect for my normally skittish cats. Each day, she sent sets of photos with updates about how they were doing. In each photo, the cats looked happy and relaxed. When I returned home, the house was clean, straightened up, and vaccumed--an unexpected bonus! I would highly recommend Riese and will definitely have her care for my cats again!”

“Rachel was absolutely amazing! We have two needy dogs and she did wonderfully with them! She interacted with the dogs throughout the day kept us posted throughout the day! We hope to continue to use Rachel because she's fantastic!”

“Morgan is just amazing. Communicating was great back and forth, even when our flight plans had to change. She took excellent care of our doggies and our house. She was here with the dogs for the vast majority of the day, which was important to me. She is my go-to sitter going forward.”

“Sara was FANTASTIC and we could not recommend enough. We left for 10 days to Hawaii, she took great care of our German Shepherd Levi, sent us consistent updates, and took amazing care of our home. He looked so happy in every picture we received. This was the longest we’ve ever been away from our dog and she made the process so seamless and not stressful at all.”

“Polina was amazing! I think this was her first time on Rover or doing house/dog sitting, but she was fabulous. She was so communicative and was clearly taking very good care of our two dogs. She left the house spotless and was incredibly considerate. We'll definitely ask Polina to care for our dogs again!”

“Madeline went above and beyond during her stay! She was on time, provided exceptional cared for my animals & house, and sent me plenty of videos/pictures for me while I was gone. She even cleaned up the guest room when she didn’t have too as well. She was absolutely AMAZING and would recommend her any day of the week!”

“Fiona was AMAZING!! Sweet, responsible, flexible, attentive to my old pup, and reliable! I'm so happy I finally went with Rover.com to find a sitter, because I hit the lottery with Fiona! My little guy is geriatric and requires some additional considerations and Fiona came through in every regard. She house sat for me as well and took care of everything I needed her to. I'll rebook every time I go out of town if she's available! My pup loved her immediately (and he's not easily impressed).”

“Ion was very good with our Louie! He was communicative and kept us updated with pictures of their adventures. It’s not uncommon for Louie to stop eating his food. Ion noticed this and made him a doggie pizza to encourage him to eat and it worked! Louie loves to see Ion and is always happy in his company. Louie is an anxious dog but seems happy and content with Ion. He leaves our home clean and just the way we left it. We would recommend his services to anyone!”

“Alyssa was an amazing sitter. She communicated the entire time and even alerted me to when one of my animals became ill. She was very responsible, clean, and communicative. Definitely will continue to use her services.”

“I would hire Madison again in an instant. My animals and house were well cared for. She befriended my nervous dog within an hour. My house was cleaner than I left it. She went above and beyond to water my flowers in the heat of the summer. No complaints here.”

“Kaitlyn was fantastic! She took excellent care of our pups. We loved receiving daily pictures and updates, which gave us peace of mind while we were away. It was clear our dogs were happy, comfortable, and well cared for. We would absolutely recommend Kaitlyn to anyone looking for a trustworthy, attentive, and caring pet sitter!”

“Caleb went above and beyond watching our three dogs (2 Golden retrievers and pit mix) and our two cats. He made sure they were well taken care of and really took the time to make sure they were happy and healthy while we were away. If you are looking for someone to watch your pets, I highly recommend Caleb. I would give him 10 stars if I could!!!”

“Lara was so amazing! She stepped in last minute after our previous sitter backed out and was so amazing with our older 17 year old kitty, who requires daily medication and special food. I could tell they were loved and cared for by the photos she sent and how relaxed they were when I got home. So grateful to have found her!”

“We felt SO at ease with Pam watching our two pups in our home while we were away! She provided consistent updates, and went out of her way to accommodate their unique needs and personalities. 10/10 recommend.”

Susie did a great job taking care of our pets while we were gone, sending lots of photos of the dogs, making us feel confident they were well taken care of. She kept my plants alive and left the house in great shape. We will definitely be asking her to petsit again!

For the first time - we needed a house sitter for our one year old golden retriever, and we booked Thomas for a week. He did a great job sending pictures and updates, and we could tell that our dog was happy and content. He took her out for many neighborhood walks and potty breaks since we don't have a fenced yard, and was patient with her "sniff walks", which take lots of time! Our house was in perfect order when we returned. I would highly recommend Thomas, and hope that he's available again when we travel!

We had a last minute Labor Day weekend trip and Allison was so amazing staying with Ollie and Gigi. She helped put my mind at ease knowing they were in great hands. She was communicative and sent lots of pictures and when we came home we could tell that they were well taken care of and provided with lots of love. She was a wonderful house guest as well and we would 10/10 recommend. We would love to have her back for any future sitting needs!

Daria was amazing with our pets while we were away. We have four dogs and two cats, so it’s definitely not the easiest house to pet sit, and she handled everything so well. Two of our dogs need medication, and all four dogs are notorious for barely eating when we leave. Somehow Daria got every single one of them to eat, even our super picky ones, which honestly says a lot. She sent us updates and photos every day, took great care of the house, and left everything clean when we got home. It was such a relief knowing everyone was being well cared for. We’d absolutely have her pet sit for us again.

Amanda was great . My dog was not exactly a fan of us leaving her , and was pretty much grumpy the entire time . But she was patient with her and didn’t force her into doing anything she wasn’t comfortable with . Gave me updates. I still had a stress free vacation knowing she was going back and forth to my house to check on her . I will use her again if she will have it 😅

Kasey went above and beyond this weekend while watching my two dogs. Theyre BIG dogs and she was amazing with them! She made sure I had check-ins, pictures, clear communication and understood clear expectations for their care. Kasey watched our home as well and left it BETTER than she arrived. She brought toys and things to entertain the pups, which they loved. I couldnt ask for a better pup-sitter! Thank you thank you for giving me peace of mind for the weekend, knowing my big babies were well taken care of.

Lauren did an excellent job watching our senior dog! He requires several medications throughout the day and she took wonderful care of his needs! She was great at communicating with us and she sent pictures daily. The house was neat as a pin when we arrived home! We would highly recommend her to any pet parent!!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Wolhurst walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Wolhurst maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wolhurst choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
