“Frank has been my dog walker for the past couple months and he's the best! Super responsive and has a flexible schedule. And just a super nice guy. I highly recommend him!”

“Grant did a great job! Was really pleased with all the pictures and the walks and the detailed report cards. And when the cars had an accident he offered to clean it up. The house was in great order when we got back. Will be booking again!”

About: I have taken care of dogs my whole life, I have 3+ years in healthcare and medication administration experience. This experience has affirmed my understanding of how crucial consistent and timely care for pets is for their overall wellbeing. I am working part time and am a nursing student, but I have plenty of availability this summer. I have two pups of my own and certainly understand the need to find last minute care, which I do my best to provide. I provide thoughtful care to not just pets but also their homes. I will always check that your pets have all of their needs met (food/water/aid) at the end and beginning of each service!
About: I’m a pet owner myself and have never not had a dog or cat in my home. I have cared for young and old, and all temperaments. I’m a mom of three who is looking to care for pets in my spare time while they are in school or at summer camp. I will safety and comfort at all times. I know how important it is to know your pets are being cared for as their owners would and I intend to do just that.
About: As the primary caregiver, I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your pet. My family and I are lifelong animal lovers, and we’ve always shared our home with pets. Since moving to the United States, our beloved 5-year-old Husky has stayed with our family in Colombia, so caring for other people’s pets has become a wonderful way for us to continue sharing the love we have for animals. I have experience caring for dogs with patience, responsibility, and genuine affection. My husband and our two children, ages 15 and 11, also enjoy spending time with the pets in our home, giving them plenty of love, playtime, and attention. I treat every pet as if they were part of my own family, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. My goal is to give you peace of mind, knowing your furry family member is in caring and trustworthy hands. My daily routine gives me the flexibility and time to provide dedicated care for pets. I have spent the last few years working as a caregiver for elderly adults, which has taught me the importance of patience, responsibility, kindness, and paying attention to every detail. A few months ago, my main patient passed away, and now I am able to dedicate my time fully to pet care. Being at home allows me to give pets constant companionship, regular attention, walks, playtime, and the love they need while their families are away. I know pets are not just animals — they are beloved members of the family. My goal is to make every pet feel safe, comfortable, and cared for as if they were my own. Safety, trust, and a loving environment are the foundation of the care I provide. I believe pets are not just animals; they are beloved members of the family, and my goal is for every pet to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for as if they were at home. I have had pets my entire life. My family had a husky that we raised from a puppy, and he grew up alongside my children, becoming a very special part of our family. Although he is currently living with our family in another place, that experience taught us the importance of love, patience, responsibility, and understanding each pet’s unique personality and needs. I also have experience caring for different types of dogs, including small dogs, a senior dog who was 15 years old and required special attention, a bonded pair of dogs, and larger breeds, including another husky. These experiences have helped me understand that every dog has different needs, routines, and personalities. When pets stay with me, they become part of our family environment. They will receive constant attention from me, as well as companionship from my children and my husband. I carefully follow every owner’s instructions regarding food, medications, exercise, routines, and any special needs. My priority is to provide a safe, calm, and loving home where pets feel comfortable, while giving their owners peace of mind knowing their furry family member is being cared for with the same love and dedication they would provide themselves.
“Jennie is great with my dog Buddy! Buddy is a rescue and she has been working with him on walking, which is definitely a challenge because he is a large, Great Pyrenees pup! Thank you for all that you do for Buddy and I!”

About: I’ve taken care of my own pets as well as family and friends my entire life whether it was for vacation, because my parents were working, etc. I am happy to take care of any babies as I love animals and just want to spread the love! I’m currently working 3 days out of the week over at Walmart because I’m taking real estate licensing courses. I would love to take care of some pets in my free time rather than watching tv or doing arts and crafts. I’m currently in an apartment and don’t have a yard, however I know how to properly walk a dog on leash as Ive taken dog training classes with my family dogs. I would not go by any main roads on a walk just for precaution and safety reasons, though a nice long walk in the neighborhood would be great! I enjoy making sure pets have enough water, food, and energy-burning time.
“Vickie was amazing! She was dependable and on time. Lupo loved her (as did Guido). It was very comforting to know that she was doing such a wonderful job! Highly recommend.”

“Lexie has just been amazing. We contacted Lexie a few weeks ago to walk our pups. She came over to meet the dogs and you could tell right away that she loved animals. I really appreciated the detailed notes Lexie would leave on the boys Rover card. I’m sure my dogs loved seeing her every day. I would highly recommend her.”

“Justin was great with our dogs. Especially my Ginny. She’s shy and warmed up to him. She was sitting by the door this morning waiting for him to come. 10/10 will use him again!!!”

“Jenny is wonderful! Reggie loves her and came home from his walk happy. She is very personable and you can tell that she truly loves animals. I highly recommend Jenny!”

“Amanda was great at communicating her timing, as well as letting me know how my dog was doing. It seemed like he really enjoyed his walk! I also really appreciated all of the photos she shared.”

About: I have experience with exercising and feeding dogs while their owner is away for a long day. Have house/cat sat many times. My expertise is cats due to owning them and watching friends cats often. But I also love taking care of dogs and making sure they’re happy when their owners life gets too busy. I am available in evenings and weekends. Mondays and Fridays, I work remotely so I can do check ins during the day. My full time job is flexible. I like to watch pets in their own environment. Makes them loads more comfortable. I am able to tell when an animal is scared and don’t push their limits and use patience to let them come to me.

“My Dogs Love Lindsey!!! They are all smiles when she gets there and in all the pictures that she sends me. I love how flexible she is with my schedule and is always on time. My daughter has been very sick and Lindsey offered to check on her for me since I had to be at work. I don't know what I would do without her.”

We love Jennie! Bella sits by the front door and when she sees her coming up the walk she does zoomers because she’s so excited! Jennie is always friendly and on time! It’s so wonderful to leave Bella in the hands of someone you trust and who takes such good care of your fur baby. Highly recommend!!!
Alex was great with Cookie today. She wasn’t intimidated by Cookie’s size and strength and got her to settle down quickly. As they made their way home from their 30-minute walk, Cookie walked quietly by Alex’s side. Our girl is one “tough Cookie,” but Alex’s skill with dogs is evident.

Kaylee is absolutely wonderful! Getting her as our dog walker has quite literally changed our whole world as far as our dogs behavior is concerned. Solo no longer pees in the house when we are gone at work, he is much more pleasant to walk and doesn’t pull nearly as much, and he is just a happier dog! We jokingly refer to her as his “girlfriend”, and he just seems to be so excited to see her for his walks. Couldn’t recommend enough! Thank you!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
